Gotta Get Gucci (Gucci's POV Prologue)

Summary:

Essentially a partial, slightly anachronistic recap to the events of Isekai Nonbiri Nouka in Gucci's POV. Of course, not official. I added some scenes to canon events, too. Prologue to Gotta Get Gucci (Gucci's POV). Pre-relationship. Pre-slash. Stream of consciousness.

Work Text:

Hello readers! It's been forever!

I got into Isekai Nonbiri Nouka a while back and suddenly felt the urge to write. I wrote this story in both Hiraku's and Gucci's POVs, but it's best to read Hiraku's POV—the other one—first. Gucci's POV reveals so many things not included in Hiraku's POV!

I will use whichever spelling for the names I feel most comfortable with. For example, I will be writing "Gucci" instead of "Guchi", the spelling found on the wiki.

I will also be using the「」marks instead of "" (unless already inside「」marks) because that is how the original novel reads.

Gucci's introduction section is also MUCH longer than Hiraku's, since I don't think we ever got a POV chapter for Gucci in the novel. This will also help explain his feelings towards Hiraku.

I was originally going to have the full introduction section in Gucci's POV, but it ended up being WAY too long! I decided to just drastically shorten the introduction section in the actual story, and post the original as a sort of Part 2 to this series.

This is essentially a partial, slightly anachronistic recap to the events of Isekai Nonbiri Nouka in Gucci's POV, told in a stream of consciousness style. Of course, not official. I added some scenes to canon events, too. I hope you enjoy it all!

If you want to read the entire series in order, here is it: Gotta Get Gucci (Hiraku's POV)Gotta Get Gucci (Gucci's POV Prologue), and Gotta Get Gucci (Gucci's POV). Read this as the optional second part!

Disclaimer: I do not own any aspect of Isekai Nonbiri Nouka. It belongs to Kinosuke Naito. I only own this and every other story I have.

My name is Gucci.

I am an Ancient Devil who is roughly 2,500 years old. My title is《Brave》, and I spent my entire immortal existence living up to said title. Seeking power, trying all sorts of things, becoming Devil King with the help of Prada—who was known as《Gold Coin》then—over Beton, an Ancient She-Devil previously known as《Disease》who coveted the same position...I have been displaying bravery this whole time. I bravely led the Ancient Devils with Bulga and Stifano—known as《Selfless Love》and《Indebted Love》back then—to conquer the world...only for us to be stopped by Doosu the Emperor Dragon.

After our defeat, I, as Devil King, allied myself and all the Ancient Devils to Doosu the Emperor Dragon and all the Divine Dragons. We had to survive at all costs. I couldn't let us Ancient Devils be annihilated as a consequence of our defeat. That's why I sided us with the victors, and bound us all with a contract solidifying our subordination.

For centuries, we Ancient Devils have served the Divine Dragons. Of course, not every single individual Ancient Devil serves a Divine Dragon. For one, Beton instead chose to wander the world. However, even those independent Ancient Devils are bound by that contract, and cannot—and will not—break its terms. We Ancient Devils value our contracts so much, after all.

For centuries, I personally served Doosu-sama until his first son, Doraim-sama and the future Gatekeeper Dragon, was born. Since then, I have personally served Doraim-sama and moved to what would be his future lair at the southern border of the Forest of Death alongside a large group of Ancient Devils after he fledged.

I have been with Doraim-sama his entire life, dutifully serving him. From his formative years to watching as he was pursued by Graffalun-sama to being present at his only child Lastismun-sama's birth, I have been there to watch it all.

For centuries, we Ancient Devils had just been surviving. But only after meeting him did we actually begin to thrive.

-0-

It was almost fifteen years ago. It started as a normal day with me behind Doraim-sama as we walked through his lair. It started as a normal day, and would have remained as a normal day, if I had not seen that. One second a divine flash flew from the center of the Forest of Death and the next second, a huge wyvern was felled straight from the sky. All barriers shattered, just two hits. Like it was a common bird instead one of the strongest beings in the entire world. That huge wyvern looked awfully familiar, but I couldn't see for long as it fell down into the forest with a deafening crash.

That divine flash, capable of blowing a hole through a wyvern's chest like it was nothing. From just sight alone, I knew it was capable of doing the same to Doraim-sama and even Doosu-sama. A clean hole through the chest, one and done. I knew then and there that we had to make peace with such a being. We cannot afford to have such a horrible enemy!

It took several months of preparation. We had to find the perfect gift and practice how to greet such a powerful being. Doraim-sama became a ball of nerves, so I had to practice what to say to such a being. Meanwhile, Doraim-sama practiced a single greeting and how to properly bow, as though it was the first time in his life...which it was. Only after we were ready did we make our move.

Doraim-sama and I flew to where the crash occurred with Doraim-sama in dragon form as I flew beside him. What greeted us was what looked to be a normal village, but I knew there and then that it was anything but. An actual normal village could never withstand the atrocious beasts residing within the Forest of Death, and the lumber that made up the village's structures was processed from the Forest of Death's trees, which are harder than steel. I knew then and there we were going to meet a great being.

And then he came out. A man who appeared to be a normal human at first glance, dressed in farmer's clothing. But I knew immediately that he was not a normal human. Many wouldn't be able to tell, but I, as Devil King, could sense the faint divine energy emanating from him. Like a divine being just barely able to conceal his presence. I could also see a special glint from his clothes, a special glint only produced by the silk of a Great Demon Spider—or even worse. And besides, he was flanked by a lizardman and an oni maid, two races who would most definitely not serve a normal human. I knew then and there that I could not afford to mess up.

Doraim-sama, still in dragon form, collapsed into a deep bow while I stepped forward and offered the prepared gift, one of the nicest swords Doraim-sama ever owned. The being himself stepped forward to receive the gift, only for the lizardman to intercept me and give the gift to the oni maid. They are so protective of that being. He must be that important.

Once the oni maid showed the gift to that being, he thanked us for it and asked us what we were doing there. I delved into the months of practice I did with the greeting, telling him that we were there to greet our neighbors, late as it may be.

Luckily for us, we were able to please him. The being was touched by our polite greeting and invited us inside. However, Doraim-sama was still in dragon form, and would not be able to fit inside. We could not afford to be rude to such a being, though, so I had him turn into his human form. Doraim-sama did just that immediately, without another word. That was the first time Doraim-sama listened to me so willingly. But how could he show any form of disobedience in front of such a great being? How could anyone?

And then we were invited inside. As the being, the lizardman, and the oni maid led us through the settlement, I saw them. Inferno Wolves. Demon Spiders. All with large numbers, all scattered about the place. Inferno Wolf Emperor, Inferno Wolf Empress, Inferno Wolf Kings, Inferno Wolf Queens, an Illegal Demon Spider...an army straight out of hell.

But they did not appear to be ready for war. No, they looked like they lived there, simple residents of this place. Like the High Elves, oni women, angels, and lizardmen who also lived there. The angels were also not just any angels, they were the Killer Trio! Such great races, all in one place!

We were led into a grand mansion in the center of the settlement. The being introduced himself as Machio Hiraku, a normal human and Village Chief of Taiju Village, this settlement. The lizardman is Daga, and the oni maid is Ann.

After we introduced ourselves, two women entered, two women who are VERY infamous. The Great Sage Rurushi Ru and the Angel of Annihilation Tia! They are the being's wives and yes, wives. Apparently, the being has many wives and lovers. The High Elves Ria, Rize, and Rafa, and the oni maid Ann, are also his wives. Normal human?! Yeah right! Who was this being fooling?!

Anyways, the being brought out what appeared to be an appo before proceeding to peel and then slice it right in front of us with a knife that just came out of nowhere. Huh, it felt familiar...

But I couldn't ponder for a moment longer as the sliced appo was presented before Doraim-sama and me. The being wanted us to try it. When visiting a new place, it's the duty of servants to test for poison. And that duty fell on me, Doraim-sama's servant. I reached for a slice, barely able to steady my shaking hands as I bit into it...and tasted the sweetest, crispiest, and juiciest fruit I've ever eaten in my entire immortal life! It was so good, and there was not even a hint of poison! The rest of the slices disappeared before I knew it. Such a fruit could only be from the realm of the gods!

I could feel Doraim-sama's heated glare as I devoured the last slice. Oh crap! How unbecoming of me! However, the being only laughed as he brought out a second appo and proceeded to slice and peel it for Doraim-sama. One bite, and Doraim-sama was the same as me, devouring all the slices in a flash.

The being said he was happy we enjoyed them. Apparently, they are called "apples", and he would be offering us some as a gift to thank us for that wonderful sword we gave him. Upon hearing those words, Daga went outside and called forth a large group of lizardmen. Doraim-sama and I stared in absolute shock as they laid out a ridiculously huge cloth, one that could easily cover a multiple-story building, and proceeded to stack crate upon crate of apples into the cloth before tying it into a huge bag. That bag spanned several stories tall, and would have to be carried by Doraim-sama in his dragon form. Even with that large group of lizardmen, it took several minutes to complete such a monumental task.

The apples are a gift, and that many?! Our gift looks like complete and utter trash compared to this gift from the gods!

The being then told Ann to prepare a feast for his honored guests, for us. He said I could eat too, since I am an honored guest. The oni maids can tend to Doraim-sama. Ann then left to do just that and the being dismissed Daga before standing up and offering to personally guide Doraim-sama and me around Taiju Village. How generous!

The being, Machio Hiraku-sama, insisted we call him "Village Chief" and showed us around. Fields upon fields of the most gorgeous crops I have ever seen. So many unknown kinds, and all so healthy and beautiful. He even showed us the trees apples grow from, and picked two before offering them to Doraim-sama and me. Said apples taste best straight from the tree. And he was right! So sweet, crisp, and juicy! Even the skin is great!

We were then led into a special building, a kind of building I never saw before. He told us it was a bathhouse, and then proceeded to tell us how to get ready for and then take a bath. It was heaven! Pure heaven! Who knew dipping yourself in water could feel so good?!

Village Chief said he was actually grateful we came to visit. Really, REALLY grateful. Said that we were lucky no women were already taking a bath, since the High Elves refused to build a separate bathhouse. Said he could use us and our future visits as an excuse to make a separate men's bathhouse. Future visits?! We can visit this divine place again?!

Before we knew it, it was time to get out. Village Chief said dinner should be ready by now. We got dressed and headed back to the grand mansion, Village Chief's personal mansion, where the most delectable smell greeted us. I never smelled anything that smelled so good!

The food glowed on the plates, like actually glowed. Foods I had never seen before, cooked and presented in ways I had never seen before. And is that Gnostic Honey?! Real, actual, genuine Gnostic Honey?! Only a god could obtain enough to give to even servants! And even I, a said servant, was given a setting at the table. Food of the gods! Wine of the gods! Meal of the gods! I could barely stop myself from scarfing down everything like some depraved beast! Who knew anything but wyvern and Panic Caribou could taste so good?!

Anyways...after finishing my food and wine, I stood up before going to stand behind Doraim-sama. Now that I was done, I had to tend to him. Had to maintain some of my dignity as a butler, after all.

Doraim-sama said he would be living at Taiju Village. We can't have that! I completely understand how Doraim-sama feels, but he has to defend his home. He has his responsibilities as the Gatekeeper Dragon! And besides, we can't overstay our welcome, not without more gifts. Gifts that were all at Doraim-sama's lair.

And so, I had Doraim-sama transform after stepping out of the village with the huge bag of apples in hand. I had brought that multiple-stories-spanning bag with us to the outside of the village through telekinesis, and Doraim-sama would be manually carrying it himself the rest of the way to his lair. What a truly miraculous place! Truly the home of a god!

Village Chief has the most beautiful smile, a laugh that makes your heart flutter, a voice that melts you most pleasantly, the brightest eyes, and an ambience that makes it seem as though a halo was illuminating his warm, gentle features. His kindness, generosity, understanding, acceptance, warmth, gentleness...I want to meet Village Chief again and again, as many times as possible for the rest of my immortal life. The most handsome man, inside and out.

Honestly, I think that's when I first fell in love with Village Chief. So this is what love is. I had never been in love with anyone before him, and I don't think I'll ever be in love with anyone other than Village Chief. My first and only love. Him and him alone...

It already started as a deep and mad love, and only grew deeper and madder as more time passed and more events involving him occurred.

Since that day, we visited Taiju Village, a gift with us every single time. I dropped off Doraim-sama, ate each meal of the gods that was so generously offered to me, took a bath in such divine waters, and stayed the night in the newly-built inn. Village Chief was so kind to keep Doraim-sama company each visit. What a kind, generous man. Only a god could be so kind and generous. He even offered to have a house built for Doraim-sama, since he visited so often. Doraim-sama eagerly agreed, insisting on paying for everything. Now he had a place to himself whenever he visited, and I had a room to myself within his house. It was very nice, made from the precious lumber of the Forest of Death trees and sporting luxurious cloth made by the Illegal Demon Spider Zabuton. What I would give to live here forever...

Soon after, Village Chief's first wife, Rurushi-sama, became pregnant with his first child. The whole village celebrated, and I saw how Village Chief cherished his pregnant wife and treated her like the highest queen. I could see just how happy he was.

Months later, Alfred-sama was born. Said he was the first half-human half-vampire, but I knew that couldn't be further from the truth. I could feel the divinity radiating from that child. Like he was half-divine, not half-human.

Disaster struck shortly after Alfred-sama's birth. Lastismun-sama, seeing the gifts Doraim-sama was going to give to celebrate Alfred-sama's birth, flew into a fit of rage, immediately assuming those gifts were instead for a cheating partner. She took off to Taiju Village to burn it to the ground with Graffalun-sama right behind her. Doraim-sama rushed after Lastismun-sama to stop her from making the hugest mistake in her entire life. Meanwhile, I rushed to Village Chief to explain what was going on.

I was almost too late! That divine flash flew again, this time straight at Graffalun-sama. I watched in absolute horror as all her barriers and shields shattered in an instant, and only a single thread from the Illegal Demon Spider Zabuton kept her from meeting the same fate as that huge wyvern! I have to be faster! Even faster!

And then I saw it. Village Chief was about to throw a spear, a spear that looked awfully familiar—no way! That's Holy Lance Gryme! What's that doing here?! So the Almighty Farming Tool (AFT) is not a magic tool, but a god's weapon?! I knew it! Village Chief IS a god! Who else but a god could use a god's weapon so easily?! A dragon would be drained, an angel would faint, and a real human would straight up die! And he's about to throw it again, so soon after the first throw!

I threw myself in front of Village Chief, begging him to wait and urgently telling him that those two dragons are not enemies. That was by far the bravest thing I had ever done. What could possibly be braver than knowingly throwing yourself in front of an almighty attacking god?! My masters better be grateful to me.

Luckily, Village Chief is a kind and gentle man when not defending his home. Upon hearing my explanation, he immediately stopped. Doraim-sama used that opportunity to have Lastismun-sama and Graffalun-sama turn into their human forms and greet Village Chief with Doraim-sama doing the same.

Village Chief is so kind and forgiving. One apology was all it took for him to forgive them. Anyone else would have demanded reparations and punishments. After he departed, I watched as my masters trembled in fear at the tragedy that was only seconds away from occurring. I have never seen dragons tremble in fear, let alone Divine Dragons! Graffalun-sama practically commanded Lastismun-sama to live in Taiju Village so Village Chief would never point such a dreadful spear at another dragon ever again. Lastismun-sama had no choice but to agree.

Such a kind, generous man. Village Chief immediately welcomed Lastismun-sama, and let her live in Doraim-sama's house. Despite having once threatened the village, she was welcomed with open arms and treated with the same respect and kindness that every other villager receives. She adapted to village life in no time.

Competition to become Lastismun-sama's servants was fierce. Ancient Devils had never fought each other so fiercely ever since we were fighting over who would become Devil King (or Queen). The food Village Chief gave us astounded everyone and lifted the spirits of all the Ancient Devils, which hadn't been this high since before our defeat! Even I volunteered myself. Who wouldn't want to live in such a divine place forever?!

But of course, Doraim-sama stopped me. Said it was punishment for not allowing him to live there forever. If he can't live there forever, neither could I. How cruel!

In the end, Bulga and Stifano were selected. They have always been by my side, even as I faced off against Doosu-sama. There were no better choices—other than myself of course, but NO...Doraim-sama would not allow it. How very, VERY cruel!

I had never seen those two so happy before. Village Chief commented on how cool their bat-like wings are, and treated them with the same respect and kindness that every other villager receives. Despite being Ancient Devils. How kind and accepting! I hope he thinks I am cool too...

As time passed, more and more people gathered at Taiju Village. The Elder Dwarves who came to the village before Alfred-sama's birth, demons, beastkin, even Hakuren-sama. She foolishly tried to challenge Village Chief out of jealousy, only to be swiftly defeated after a series of clever feints. It's her fault Village Chief pointed that dreadful spear at another dragon again. It took an apology from her as well as Doosu-sama and much of their family—who came to stop her—for him to spare her life. It would have been a sight to see, seeing so many Divine Dragons all in a reflective pose. Only a god could do that.

Village Chief is so kind and generous. He threw a grand feast to welcome the dragons, and even let Hakuren-sama join after she finished cleaning up her mess. Once again, no demands for reparations or undeserved punishments. What a kind, forgiving man.

The feast lasted for days. What I would have given to be there. Bulga and Stifano told me that the Divine Dragons ate half of the village's supply of food and drank a huge amount of wine and other refreshments. They also played the games from the realm of the gods and proceeded to scare almost everyone to death. Humph. The Divine Dragons should learn how to take a loss, like us Ancient Devils did. Not that I like losing, though.

After the feast, all the visiting Divine Dragons left, except Hakuren-sama. She was left to serve Taiju Village, like Lastismun-sama had been made to do. I saw through Doosu-sama's intentions right away. Doosu-sama wanted Village Chief to marry Hakuren-sama, like how he married Lastismun-sama. He even left lavish gifts as a kind of dowry. Luckily for him, Village Chief did just that. What an endlessly huge heart Village Chief has. Hakuren-sama completely changed after getting married. Much calmer, much nicer, much less jealous.

And soon, more and more people came to live in the village. More demons and Mountain Elves. It was to the point that a new village had to be made, Village One. The minotaurs the Divine Dragons brought necessitated the construction of Village Two, and the centaurs Beezel the demon brought necessitated the construction of Village Three. Still, Village Chief did not complain, rushing to build the two villages capable of housing such large beings. Meanwhile, the Nyunyu-Daphnes resided outside all over the villages, mainly in Village One.

More important people began to visit as well. The Demon King's daughter, who came with the aforementioned group of demons. The Immortal King. The Demon King himself. The Heavenly Kings of the Demon Kingdom. Even Quon-sama, who chased Domaim-sama all the way to Taiju Village. Village Chief performed another miracle, actually convincing Domaim-sama to marry Quon-sama, and later helping Sekiren-sama marry Qolun-sama. Only a god could do that. Even Doosu-sama, the Emperor Dragon, couldn't.

Even more things happened. The Shrine Maiden Kiabit, daughter of the Angel Chief Malbit, foolishly attacked Taiju Village with a group of angels and harpies, and instantly got subdued with many of the harpies moving into Village One. All sorts of Martial Arts Tournaments and other competitions. I will not lose at Mountain Toppling ever again. Only Village Chief introducing me to the hot springs, which are even more divine than the men's bathhouse, stopped me from wanting to destroy the world.

I'll treasure that crown, trophy, and ten reward medals I received from winning the male Inferno Wolf Division forever. They are so, so beautiful. Village Chief placed the crown on my head himself, handed me the trophy and reward medals himself, and he made them all himself! They're my most prized possessions. I can part with any other reward medals, but these ten, these ten...never.

Village Chief adopted Ursa-sama, who the angels suspect to be "The Brave Queen" Urbarza. He got a cat, a male cat. Weird. The cat felt awfully familiar. He got a phoenix chick too, who also feels awfully familiar.

Evil Fuushu, whose son was saved by Rurushi-sama and Flora-sama, brought over human immigrants to live in Village One. Village Chief really appreciated having people actually using the houses built there.

Village Chief married more wives, and blessed them with children. I could feel the divinity radiating from those children like with Alfred-sama. Even Hiichirou-sama, Village Chief's first child with Hakuren-sama, radiates such divinity. A true Divine Dragon! He is Guraru-sama's destined partner. Thanks to Village Chief, Giral-sama finally stopped going against Doosu-sama, allying with him and making himself and Guraru-sama into hostages at Doosu-sama's lair. It was only after Hiichirou-sama was born were both released, with Guraru-sama going to live in Taiju Village to be with her destined partner while Giral-sama returned to his lair.

How kind and thoughtful of Village Chief. Using Dragon Naming Rules to name his dragon child, despite being a god and therefore above the Divine Dragons. No wonder they all love him so much.

His oni maids even personally taught the Ancient Devil midwives how to cook. Village Chief himself previously gave instructions and recipes to Doraim-sama and me shortly after our first meeting, and even gifted us cookware best suited for such cooking methods after Taiju Village established relations with Howling Village. I then passed along those instructions, recipes, and later the cookware to the Ancient Devil midwives.

However, nothing can beat a personal demonstration. Now food at all of the Divine Dragons' lairs will be even better! Of course, if not for Village Chief, the oni maids would not have known those cooking methods in the first place and therefore would have never been able to share anything. Not to mention we would never have such god-tier ingredients to make meals of the gods to begin with. Everything great these days ties back to Village Chief in one way or the other. I just know it.

Village Chief has been gifting us generous and diverse amounts of ingredients, each gifting enough to completely fill multiple multi-story buildings. And that's the amount he gives us for free. What Village Chief does sell, he always sells at unreasonably low prices. Pretty much a steal. Village Chief should be selling each individual item for mountains of gold each, but he doesn't even charge an infinitesimal percentage of that. I vividly remember when Village Chief gave Doraim-sama and I 50% more for one of our orders once we told him we didn't know what "lunch" was until we first visited Taiju Village. My dear god, always so kind, thoughtful, and generous. Openly weeping at this world's situation. He had been asking around, and found out no one knew what "lunch" was before his descent. Well, it's not like the Divine Dragons nor the Ancient Devils are starving even with only two meals every day, but Village Chief absolutely insisted on everyone knowing what "lunch" is. Said one of his biggest dreams is to ensure no one will be forced to eat less than three full meals every day, no matter the gender, status, wealth, age, race, affiliation, origins, past, or future intentions. Doraim-sama and I couldn't help but applaud at our dear god's grand ambition. One that is actually possible, thanks to his tireless work ethic and endless compassion.

Village Chief absolutely insisted on giving 50% more of the food he usually gifts us from then on, and will permanently reduce prices on all he sells by 33%. Village Chief would be keeping Michael the human's commission the same, so only he and he alone would be taking a hit. Said it was nothing compared to allowing everyone to have "lunch", though. All for the sake of us having "lunch" every day...it took everything in me not to collapse into a deep bow before Village Chief. I could tell Doraim-sama shared my problem. Village Chief is FAR too humble to accept such open gestures of worship, after all.

And when Village Chief finally began selling alcohol, Doraim-sama danced with joy for hours on end. And Graffalun-sama. And Doosu-sama. And Raimeiren-sama. All the Divine Dragons, really. Us Ancient Devils, too. How generous of my dear god, so generously sharing how to make meals of the gods ourselves and giving us the means and ingredients to do so.

B-But! N-No way! So that wyvern WAS familiar, after all! We all had thought that wyvern brat, the one the wyvern council couldn't control, had just gone quiet for these past few years, but he was the one killed by Village Chief! Not even Doosu-sama, Raimeiren-sama, Giral-sama, or even Guronde-sama back in her destructive prime could just shrug off such a fight! This is one of the many reasons Doraim-sama and I made the right choice in pursuing peace! It was the brat's fault for attacking a god, and I'm eternally grateful Doraim-sama and I didn't make the same terrible mistake! It's INFINITELY better to have Village Chief as a priceless ally than as the worst possible enemy! NEVER become personal enemies with a god, especially with one who is so kind and generous to everyone!

Village Chief welcomed the Sun Castle, which had foolishly been hostile at first, with open arms after learning of the regular devils' and dream demons' situation from Kuzuden, the great-grandson of the first invader. The Sun Castle became Village Four, also known as the Sun Village. You'll never have Village Chief!

I will not lose to a regular devil who had once been so disrespectful to this dear god. I was smart enough to know that a being capable of killing a huge wyvern in just two hits demands only the greatest respect. I will not lose. I, as Devil King, pledge my life on it. I have always been deeply and madly in love with Village Chief, it has only grown deeper and madder, and will only continue to grow deeper and madder. Your love for Village Chief could not even begin to approach mine...

And so what if you're taller than me? I'm both much stronger and much older than you! I could effortlessly execute you on the spot with your greatest struggles amounting to nothing! Absolutely nothing! The only reason I haven't brutally murdered you is because Village Chief himself would not want that! Consider yourself very lucky, Kuzuden the regular devil!

Anyways...Village Chief made establishments in Shashaato City, revolutionizing food there. He created Village Five to hide the presence of the Teleportation Gates. Since then, it has grown rapidly and even is on track to overtake Greisen, the current capital of the Demon Kingdom. Lananun-sama, Village Chief's daughter with Lastismun-sama and another true Divine Dragon, was born. I have never seen Doraim-sama and Graffalun-sama happier.

Village Chief saved the Nine-Tailed Fox Youko's child, Hitoe, and let Hitoe live under Taiju Village's protection while Youko became Village Five's Acting Village Chief.

His adopted beastkin sons revolutionized food in Greisen as they attended—and later began teaching at—the Gargard Noble School. Alfred-sama, Tizel-sama, and Ursa-sama later attended Gargard Noble School too. They proceeded to shake up Greisen even more.

Village Chief healed Guronde-sama's severe injuries with leaves of the World Tree he generously gave to Giral-sama, and she began living with Guraru-sama in Taiju Village. This was the happiest I had ever seen Giral-sama.

It was...interesting to be summoned by Village Chief. He was as confused as I was when I stepped out of the mirror he made, one made out of one of Guronde-sama's scales. Even then, I saw how selfless Village Chief was. When asked to make a wish, Village Chief wished for world peace without any hesitation. But alas, I am too weak to fulfill such grand wishes. I'm so sorry, my dear God of Humbleness-sama.

Then he just wished for me to say hi to Doraim-sama for him. How amusing! I couldn't help but laugh as I reentered the mirror. I dropped a quick greeting to Doraim-sama, like Village Chief wished for, before rushing over to where Village Chief was and shattering that mirror in one punch and then pulverizing the shards into powder with my bare hands. I want to fulfill all of Village Chief's wishes, but not like that!

Village Chief is kind and understanding. He wasn't mad I destroyed the mirror he worked so hard to make. He accepted my offer to buy a hundred of Guronde-sama's scales. He accepted that silver mirror in exchange for the mirror I shattered.

After bringing the hundred Guronde-sama's scales I purchased from Village Chief back to Doraim-sama's lair, I knew what I had to do. I began draining the immense magical power from each scale, each spent scale crumbling into powder as I drained them dry. I need to get stronger. I need to become more capable. I want to fulfill Village Chief's wishes, and I need to become stronger and more capable to do that.

I finally managed to drain all the magic from those scales after several weeks. I became hundreds of times stronger. I can even overpower Doosu-sama now! Absorbing all that magic made me stronger than him!

But I would never do that. Not only is Village Chief tightly intertwined to Doosu-sama through Lastismun-sama and Hakuren-sama, it would make Village Chief sad and angry if I was to engage in such violence. I don't want to make Village Chief sad, and I would never survive his anger, no matter how much stronger I get. I could never reach a god's level.

I promised myself I would devote all the magic I gained to Village Chief and Village Chief only. But Village Chief has no need for more power. He is already stronger than everyone I know combined. We only guard him as a show of dedication and worship. But what does he actually need? How about going from place to place more easily? Beezel the demon's teleportation magic is convenient, but limited. But there was one that was both much stronger and much less restricted...

So the next time I visited Taiju Village, I searched for him. The Immortal King. The progenitor of the vampires who is over 4,000 years old and is Village Chief's first grandfather-in-law.

Luckily, he was there. I pulled him aside and begged him to teach me his teleportation—or rather, relocation—magic. As expected of the Immortal King. Although I tried my best to hide my exponentially increased prowess, and even escaped Doosu-sama's detection, I couldn't hide anything from him.

I was immensely fortunate that he agreed. Laughed heartedly when I told him why I wanted to learn his teleportation magic. I'm glad the Immortal King is such an understanding man.

After many tries and countless weeks, I finally perfected the Immortal King's teleportation magic. I thanked him profusely and made sure to make a generous donation to the Korin Religion. Now I can better serve Village Chief. I can better serve this god.

How could anyone deny Village Chief is a god? Not only did he raise a World Tree in Taiju Village, he then raised an entire field of them deeper in the Forest of Death. No wonder angels were flocking to him like moths to a flame! But this flame is warm and gentle, not burning and dangerous.

Anyways...more and more children. More true Divine Dragons such as Himiko-sama and Hikaru-sama, Village Chief's twins with Hakuren-sama, and Kukulkan-sama, his son with Lastismun-sama. All named under the Dragon Naming Rules. More peace, more growth.

Village Chief even freed Versa-sama, who had been trapped by the Immortal King after he got fed up with her using him in her BL material, and even helped the two reconcile as husband and wife. Versa-sama, the one Ancient Devil above me. I never thought that would be possible! She now even lives in Taiju Village with Hermes, Corey, and Birkin serving as her maids.

The Immortal King told me to stay away from his wife. Said if she saw me and Village Chief together, she would write...some risqué material of us. But that's not a punishment to me! I want to live out what Versa-sama would write of us!

But not all times were good. Prada, that damned Prada! HOW DARE SHE ATTACK VILLAGE CHIEF! SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN SENTENCED TO THE WORST DEATH IMAGINABLE!! I WOULD HAVE BEEN UTTERLY DELIGHTED TO CARRY OUT THE EXECUTION MYSELF!!!

Of course, with Village Chief's infinite kindness, he just told her to work off the value of the reward medal she lost. Damned her! Let's make her suffer for all these years!!!

And of course my shameful past had to come back and haunt me! Thanks to me letting Hermes essentially run free, she caused so much trouble with Count Pugyaru and made Village Chief go missing in the middle of the night. I can't thank him enough for untying me, freeing me from endless guilt. Those warm, gentle hands. How much I would love for them to be rough as they grab my—

Ahem, ahem. Anyways...Village Chief built a shrine on a mountain in Village Five for the silver foxes, who previously had no stable home. The dragon statues Village Chief carved are so realistic and looked so much like the Dragon Ancestors, Doraim-sama and Giral-sama fainted. Heh. I wish I was there to see that. Many Ancient Devils were allowed to move to the shrine to help guard the venerated ancestor statues. Those Ancient Devils, who are also most comfortable in nature, were happier than I had ever seen them before. They get along well with the silver foxes.

Parades every year, more grand than the last. It's as though they are planning to make Village Chief King of the World. Ugh. Not another one. Although Village Chief WOULD make the perfect one. Not because he himself wants be King of the World, but because the others want him to be King of the World.

Damned Prada, being the leader of the Ancient Devil group in that parade. Curse you, god of drawing lots!

Anyways...the Six Dragon God Kingdom, huh? Founded by Village Chief's and Tia-sama's first daughter, Tizel-sama. The Demon King granted her this land to act as a buffer country between the Demon Kingdom and the human kingdoms. The dragons below the Divine Dragons were delighted, having a full country to themselves. Village Chief shows his kindness and generosity yet again, corresponding with the representative and helping them however possible. The lives of us Ancient Devils have become even easier.

And Village Chief even gave Prada—that damned Prada—her own museum, and even let her employ Kati, Rudio, and Sharune—previously known as 《Box》, 《Sound》, and《Script》. Those three thorns in my sides are finally under control for once.

He even carved a huge welcoming object for Prada Museum, which Prada told me took two full days of endless carving. Without rest! Prada, Kati, Rudio, and Sharune made sure Village Chief still ate, but that's just simply ridiculous! With Holy Lance Gryme, he managed to pull Despair-sama's soul into the welcoming object. Only a god could do that! I couldn't help but tremble as Bulga, Stifano, and I visited Prada Museum at its grand opening.

How dare Despair-sama's daughter rampage around Village Chief! She deserved each slash from Holy Lance Gryme! Despair-sama's daughter—named "Klim" by Versa-sama—became the Devil of Hope and came to live in Taiju Village with Yoru, a Mercury from Village Four.

You're lucky Village Chief is so kind and generous! Klim and Despair-sama deserved FAR worse than just bitter offerings! I can't believe such a gorgeous statue was wasted on Despair-sama! And Village Chief even gave the miniature one to Klim, that rampaging daughter! Village Chief truly has the kindness, patience, and forgiveness of a god!

Calm down, me. Calm down!

Ahem. Ahem. Moving on.

Currently, Village Chief has over forty wives and hundreds of lovers. Despite having such a huge harem, he treats each and every one of them like queens. I'm so jealous.

As for Village Chief's children...he currently has 32, four adopted and 28 biological. With at least 16 more on the way. He continues to bless women with children, and has the Fairy Queen bless his pregnant wives with easy pregnancies and easy deliveries. What a kind, loving, caring husband.

And despite having so many children, and continuing to have even more, Village Chief makes time for all of them, playing with them and making such delicious food for them. No matter the mother, no matter the race, he listens to them, gives them advice, and eagerly awaits all communications with those currently not in the village. No wonder they worship the very ground he walks on.

And now we're back to present day.

What an eventful fifteen years it has been. Is it any wonder I fell deeply and madly in love with Village Chief, Hiraku-sama, after all that has happened?

But I know my dream won't come true. Hiraku-sama only likes women. He is as straight as I am gay. His dislike of BL proves just how much he doesn't want to be with another man.

Even so, I can't bear to be apart from Hiraku-sama. This is the first time I felt so happy, so alive. I was never this happy even when we Ancient Devils were at the height of our power. My fellow Ancient Devils feel the same.

I'll do whatever I can to remain at Hiraku-sama's side, even if I have to seal my feelings of deep and mad love towards him. I love him. I love him. I love him more than anything and anyone else. I love him no matter how much it hurts. I can't afford to be apart from him. Even if I can never tell him how much I love him.

Everything would change on this day, in ways I could have never imagined.
