Rui had been the victim of bullying for a while now, everyone thought he was a freak. A mad scientist if you will. in your head, he was the coolest person ever.
He could do a lot of stuff you could only dream of, you looked up to and admired him. This developed into a crush, though Rui would never know. Rui barely even knew you after all. He didn’t really talk to anyone, he was all alone most of the time. It made you sad, you wondered why someone as amazing as Rui wouldn’t be appreciated more. One day you decided to talk to him, you looked everywhere for him and found him on the rooftop. He was looking down at the ground below, dangerously close to falling. Maybe that was his purpose. To jump that is, it wasn’t all that uncommon in Japan. Students getting bullied to the point of no return, especially ones who already had no friends or were in a dark place. Rui, had no friends. You silently watched him as he stood near the ledge of the building. Not making a move to do anything, you should though. Shouldn’t you? If you did he’d probably brush you off. Rui had stepped on the ledge of the building, and as he did such, your legs started moving on their own.
You then yelled out to him
“Hey, dont do it please!”
He quickly turned his whole body to face you, a look of shock written on his face. He didn’t expect anyone to care if he had jumped, no one should’ve cared.
He barely even knew you, why were you gonna help him?
As you reached Rui you grabbed his arm, pulling him back from the ledge just in case. In any case, you pulling his arm only made it worse. As he winced in pain, you had wondered why, before looking down at where your hand was. A fresh cut…you quickly released your grip, looking from the cut to Rui. Who now looked ashamed, he hated making people worry about him. You really didn’t care about the cut right now, you just cared about what made him do it.
“…Rui…Why’d you…why’d you do this to yourself…?”
You near whispered, you were deeply concerned about him. Why would he…
“Because no one would care if I was gone.”
He replied emotionlessly, it frustrated you, and yet suprised you. Rui
“Untrue.”
You rebutted, though you couldn’t think of anyone else that’d care, there has to be someone else.
