Chapter Text
robin doesn’t know what she expected when her mom who looks like shes been crying tells her to come home after school but it certainly wasn’t her divorced parents sitting in the same room by choice. that should’ve been the first sign somethings off, the second should’ve been the gentle tone asking robin to sit down without even scolding her for not taking her shoes off at the entrance, oh how her parents hate that. once they start talking about how they overheard her say some concerning things robin starts sweating, surely she hasn’t accidentally said anything about the upside down anywhere near her parents.. right?
robin isn’t sure if she’s relieved or not when she finds out they know shes a lesbian.
scratch that, she is mortified and rightfully so as her parents argue with her about how she just needs a push to find the right footing again for about an hour before she gets sent to her room with her dad exclaiming they would talk tomorrow once she cooled down. she calls steve letting him know she won’t come to movie night today but just as he asks why she pauses, robin knows its bullshit but theres this voice in the back of her head asking herself how she knows steve hadn’t told her parents, she shakes her head and therefore also the thought but decides to just tell him her family wants her home, not a lie just not the whole story either.
“are you sure? do you want me to cancel and come over? because I totally will if yo-“
steve rambles in a way she would but she for once interrupts him
“no need to cancel, I’m sure you will still have fun babysitting your kids.”
“hahaha very funny buckley. I’m serious call if you need anything okay?”
after another minute convincing steve she would be okay he hangs up and robin tries to do anything but think about the unavoidable doom soon coming upon her.
robin wakes up to two men holding her wrists and ankles, behind them she sees her parents look at her in the doorframe.
“mom please! please! I’m sorry! please what- help! mom! dad! help me!”
why aren’t they moving? why are they just watching as the two drag their daughter outside? can’t they hear her yell out for them?
she’s thrown into the van all she can see is her father’s emotionless face and her mother shaking her head with something robin isn’t sure if it’s disappointment or fear. she passes out not long after, exhausted from the screaming and kicking she simply blacks out.
