Chapter Text

Twlight's POV

I walk into the Bakery with Pinkie Pie by my side as we spotted Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy and Applejack at a table next to the the window. We walk over to them and they begin to ask me different questions about me,

"So darling where did you come from?" Rarity asked me,
"I was actually homeschooled" I tried to make it sound believable by saying my parents didn't want any distractions from my studies until I turned 16, although I'm 27.

Rarity smiled at me, she was like Rarity back home, I home every pony is okay, my eyes drift over to the cake stand where I spot Mrs Cake preparing drinks,

"Do you want something?" Applejack turned to me, she caught me staring, I look at her,
"Um I don't have any cash" I nervously smiled, Applejack then poked around in her pockets, she pulled out seven dollars,
"Here help yourself" I refused but she insisted,

I walk up to the counter, Mrs Cake came over to ask me what I would like, I look up and couldn't decide on what to get, then a drink caught my eye, a chocolate drink with whipped cream and chocolate stick. "I'll take the chocolate mix, please" she smiled at me,
"That will be 6.50$" I hand her the cash and got 50 cents back, I waited by the counter and watched her prepare the drink.

She began to place in the whipped cream, "Can I have extra oats?"

"Oats?" She looks at me with concerned, so I brushed it off like a joke. She placed it on the counter, and I held it in my hand it was warm on hands that it felt really cozy like home.

I didn't watch where I was going, that I bumped into someone, my vision became clear, it was the same guy from the hallway, he has blue hair, jeans, sneakers, and a lighting bolt on his shirt.

"You okay?" He held out his hand, but his shirt was drenched, I quickly grabbed napkins and tried to clear it up,
"I really sorry, I didn't see you there!" My face became flustered and embarrassed,
"No worrys, it's okay" He smile and helped me up then walked past me to the counter.

I walked back to the girls who were oogling at me, while Spike was sitting on Fluttershys lap eating dog treats.
"Seems like you've met Flash" Rarity said slyly,
"Wait his name is Flash?"
"Yes Flash Sentry, although I suggest that you stay away from him, he and Sunset used to date until a few weeks ago" Rarity went back to drink her tea,

I look over at him as he got his drink and looked at me with a smile then walked out of the shop, he smiled at me twice, but somehow it feels familiar. "Have you dated someone before Twilight?" Applejack asks me,
I look up and noticed the girls interested, I don't know much about my love life, and to be fair my memory isn't quite clear, I just shook my head, but Spike disagrees.

We all turn to him,
"Twilight don't you remember?, you dated a guy, but you guys fell apart after a few years" Spike leaves Fluttershys lap and jumps onto mine, "I remember you being very in love and then your happiness faded away, but you always wore a lighting bolt ring",

I look at my fingers, and didn't realize it wasn't on. I didn't know who he was talking about but Flash reminds me of someone. Pinkie Pie jumps next to me and Rarity,
"So tell us who was the lucky fellow!" Her smile was very wide like a cheshire,

"I honestly don't remember, Spike how do you know?", Spike nibbles on his bone shape snack then looks at me
"He was there when I was a little baby, he came over and you two were so inseparable like nothing mattered but eachother".

"Sorry, Spike I can't remember" I turn to the girls and they just comforted saying it was okay if I could remember.

Me and Spike head back to library that day to get some knowledge of this world before seeing the girls at lunch, I try to avoid Ms Cheerilie since i got in trouble for not being in class, although i dont know what class to be in since i only came here temporarily.

Spike walks on his paws beside me, as we look at all the different books on the shelves, there is History, English, Mathematics etc. I find a quiet spot in the library as I read a book with Spike on my lap all curled up.

"So do you not remember him?" Spike looks up from his place, I stare at him still wondering who he is talking about,
"Spike what do you remember from 8 years ago or 11 years ago?"
"Twilight you dated Flash Sentry" Spike gestured his paws at me,

I eyebrow him, "What? I never date Flash, I just met him"
"Not this Flash, your Flash, Pony Flash, you used to talked about Romeo and Juliet, and joked around each other, you used to call him Flash Montague and you Twilight Capulet."
Spike laughed, I just glared at him, then he stopped,

"You seriously not remember him?"

I frown at thought of not knowing him, but I try my best to think. I think of this Flash's features that remind me of my Flash, he had blue hair, blue eyes, but the two are completely different, "Wait, you mean bad boy Flash, he had the arm tattoo and a scar on his left eyebrow, the guy I bumped into when we arrived at the Crystal Empire?!", that Flash is my Flash, but I don't remember and the other day he probably doesn't remember me,

"Yes, you remember! He hung out with you and the others", others? ,
"Who?" I raise my eyebrow at him,
"Your other friends, at Canterlot, your school friends, you know Moondancer, Minuette, Twinkleshine, Lemon Hearts and Lyra Heartstrings, they were with you at Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns",
Ah yes the girls, OMG the girls! My face frowns, I completely forgot about them,
What I remember is Twinkleshine and others finding me, and I---- ignored them.

I close the book and I placed Spike down, I check my backpack for something, I had something from that year, it was a-a- a book, not just any book, Minuette's custom year book for all of us, I pulled out the book that was covered with glitter and stickers, and my name on the front with newspaper mixed letters spelt out.

"I found it!" I showed Spike, "This book, I never left without it and yet I forgot it, this was from Minuette, she made it special for each unicorn during graduation"
I sat next to Spike and we flipped through the pages.

There were photos that caught me and Moondancer playing cards, me and the girls studying, me reading a book at our hangout, but some of them I wasn't just busy with assignments. There was one when we went to the beach, we hung out at Donut Joe's, and the Pegasus and Unicorn collaboration month photo. I look over all the pony's, and I found me, under hooves with Flash Sentry MY Flash Sentry.

I spot the ring that Spike spoke about on my finger, then I look at his finger it had a star on his ring, I stare at my hand, it felt empty like I lost apart of me.

I then flick through more of the pages, then I came across one like the girls photo from Canterlot High, but it was me and the girls in the school's garden having a picnic, but in the corner was a girl with red hair with yellow highlights in our uniforms, I look closer, It was Sunset Shimmer.

I forgot she was also Celestia's prized pupil, it seemed like she was more advanced than me from my memory, she and I were in the same grade, but I started later in the year.

I turn to Spike who also saw the photo, "Sunset was at the School the same year I was, how come I couldn't remember her?" Spike stared blankly at me, he shrugged his shoulders,
"She probably was like you and distanced herself away more than you"
Maybe, I still could believe it, Celestia might've given her the same task but it seemed like from the photos, I'm the only one who pass.

I hear the school bell ring, it was time for lunch, "Maybe I'll figure it out later", I lay down my bag for Spike to jump into, then I head out to the cafeteria.

The sun had just risen up the mountains to shine over Canterlot, the birds were singing while pony's started to wake up from their slumber. Twilights eyes fluttered awake as she hear her mother calling, "Twilight! You'll be late if you don't wake up darling!"

Twilight jumped out of her bed with excitement she stomped her feet on her capet with joy, her tail wagged very fast, she couldn't help but be excited, she walked down the stairs for breakfast.

As she reached the kitchen she had spotted her brother Shining Armour eating in his training uniform, he had looked up from his textbook to see his sister jumping for joy,
"Looks like someone is happy to go to school" he smirked
"Well Duh!, mom what did you make?" She asked to her mother in the kitchen cooking, eggs and mashed potatoes, "Just look we your eyes silly, it your favourite", Twlight looked at the pan and licked her lips, her mother stared at her looking up and down, "Honey why are you still in your pajamas?", Twlight looked down and realized she was so excited she forgot to change, her brother laughed so did her mom, her father had just walked in, he let out his arms and gave her a big hug.

Twlight giggled as he tickled her, her family laughed with her, Nightlight put her down, she looked at him with her biggest smile, "How is my Twi bug?" She gave him 2 thumbs up, "Haha, I'll be walking with you to the gate, will you like me to go with you inside?"
"No, dad I'll be fine" her dad just smiled and went over to kiss his wife on the cheek,
"Go get ready Twily we'll be leaving in 20 minutes" she nodded at her dad, and ran up the stairs.

She stood in front of her opened closet, rummaging through her clothes to find her uniform, there it was the uniform with the Celestia cutiemark on her collar and her cutie mark on her pocket on her blazer and tie, it was specialized for her since Celestia decided to make her an apprentice.

As she put on her uniform she looked at her self in the mirror, this was the day she has been practicing for. Her hair was let out with a star clip on the side to stop it from falling in her face. Her horn was in the glowing again with light pink glow, she was using it to have her things backed in her bag before she goes back down.

She dashed back to the kitchen where her family was almost done, she sat in the seat across from Shining, her heart was beating really fast, in 5 minutes she be going to her dream school, her dad tapped her on the shoulder, "You ready?", she nodded at him and stuffed her last egg bite. She grabbed her bag and ran to the door waving goodbye to her brother and mother standing in the doorway.

She held her father's hand all the way to the school gate, that was dark violet and had Celestias cutiemark on the arch, standing outside was Princess Celestia in her principal outfit that had pink pants and a golden blazer with her mark on her pocket, next to her was another girl with red and yellow hair in streaks, she had a red blazer on with the Celestia symbol on her collar and a similar cutie mark on her pocket, her hair was in high ponytail, while her arms were crossed.

Twlight and Dad walked up to them and greeted them with delight, "Princess Celestia, so nice to see you again" her father gave a gentle smile,
"Morning Nightlight, Twilight you look very adorable in the uniform" her smiled shined like the sun, Twlight smiled back and looked over to the girl next to her, "Who is she?"
"Oh that's right, Twilight meet Sunset Shimmer she is my other prize pupil and she is here to meet you, say hi Sunset" she gestured her hand to Twilight, she looked up and looked at her direction, she had faked a smile and didn't speak, Celestia frowned at her.

"Nightlight, Twilight's first day will be with me today, so no need to worry if she doesn't know where to go" her father gave her a sincere smile and kissed Twilight's forehead, and waved goodbye.

Twlight and Celestia along with Sunset walked around the halls where the other fillies were gathering with other, Twilight looked at them, and watched how everypony were knowing one another, Celestia looked at her, "Don't worry Twlight, you'll get to meet everypony in class", she followed her to the science room, it was filled with ponies, Sunset walked over to her seat at the back of the room where no one sat.

Celestia stood in the middle on the class, and clapped their attention, Twilight stood next to her, "Everyone this is Twilight Sparkle, she is a new student at the school so I hope you all treat her with a welcoming smile" Every filly waved at her, while Twilight hid behind Celestia, her anxiety was filling up, everyone was looking at her, until a filly with blue hair and a silver streak on the side, walked up to her, she had a hourglass cutiemark, but not a Celestia cutiemark on her collar.

She reached her arm out to get a hand shake, "I'm Minuette, it's nice to meet you Twilight", she smile was genuine and she seemed very perky, Celestia looked at Twilight and watched her shake Minuettes hand, "Thanks Minuette, Twilight why don't you sit with her and the girls" she gestured to the table on the left, it had a girl with blue hair that was curly but yellow skin, and next to her was girl with pink hair and it was curly and white skin, across from her was another girl that looked like Twilight, but with red hair, and next to her a teal filly that had her hair the same way as Minuette.

Minuette reached for her hand and dragged her to the table, she saved a seat next to her, she sat next to Minutte with the teal filly was infront of her. Minuette stood up and introduced them to her, "This girl is Lyra" the teal girl, "Next to her is Moondancer, across from her is Twinkleshine and next to me is Lemonhearts" they all said hi to her, while Twilight was bit shy and just waved.

"So Twilight I see your Celestia's new pupil" she looked at the sun symbol on her collar,
"Ooo, that means competition with Sunset" said Twinkleshine, Twilight looks behind her at Sunset who sat alone in the back, she wanted to talk to her but their first meeting wasn't very happy.

"Don't mind her tho, she doesn't really talk alot since she arrived a few months ago" Minuette assured, Lemonhearts took out her text book , so did the other girls, Twilight took out hers, "Let me show where we left off" Minuette used her magic to frantically flip the pages, it landed on page 103, "We left off here" and pointed to the 4th assessment on the page.

Twilight spoke up, "So what does Sunset do when she doesn't have a partner?" Moondancer looked down at the book, and the other girls noticed,
"She isn't a very cooperative pony to be around" Twinkleshine spoke, "We've tried to assist her a few times but she turned us down, we even tried to befriend her when she first came but was very rude",
"You said it, me and Moondancer wanted to get to know her but she was very cocky and called us unintelligent" Lyra chimed in

"So basically she isn't a very great filly to meet" Minuette finished the conversation, Twilight looked relieved because she thought Sunset acted like that only to her.

The lesson had begun, Twilight paired with Minuette while the girls paired with each other, Minuette followed Twilights lead since she had more experience with it, it was a very simple potion, a growing potion for a cactus. Minuette watched as Twilight added an extra ingredient,
"Wait Twilight, that isn't in the recipe" Minuette hoped she wasn't doing something stupid. Twilight said it wasn't to harm it just to give it an extra kick, as she poured it into the pot the cactus grew very tall not just tall but it grew flowers.

It was beautiful, Sunset stared at it from afar as Celestia walked up to her and Minuette, she had given a gold star on their report Minuette jumped with joy and hugged her, it was the first star she had earned from the class, every filly gathered around her, amazed.

Sunset on the other hand watched as they all crowd her, asking her questions like "How did you do that?", "Wow that is beautiful you have got to teach me", Celestia giggled under her breathe and looked over to Sunset who seemed a bit lonely but was more determined than ever to rise to the top.

Celestia's face filled with worry, she knows one day her life won't last forever if she doesn't let others in, and looks over to Twilight smiling and laughing with the others,

'One day, one day' she thought

Chapter Text

The day was as beautiful as yesterday, Twilight Sparkle and the girls were gonna meet at Donut Joe's for breakfast on their not so busy weekend.

Twilight wore her favourite skirt with a buttoned shirt and had some of her signature jewelery, and had worn leg warmers and her favourite loafers, her tail had a pink bow tied on the end, while the rest of her hair was down and had her star clip in the corner of her bangs to hold it in. She took one last look in the mirror and almost forgot one thing, her friendship bracelet from Minuette she made to match with the other girls, it had her favourite colours and her two letters T.S.

Twilight just headed out the door passing her brother in the hallway getting ready for his Cadet training, "Twily could you get me some hair gel when your out?" Shining called out,
Twilight was already rummaging through the living room looking for her satchel. "Sure! What would you like stupid kind or the expensive one" she rethought her suggestion, "Nevermind the stupid kind will do".

She finally found her decorated satchel in the couch, then galloped out the door, "Bye Twilight, see you later!" Her mother called out to her,
Twilight waved to say good bye then continued to rush.

15 minutes had passed, Minutte was wagging her tail in her seat while Moondancer was rechecking the time, "She's late again"
Lyra looked at her, "Come on girls it's Twilight, besides she did say she got 3 books from the library again"
"Romance and Mystery?" Lemonhearts asked, Lyra nodded "Then should be here in 5 4 3 2 1" she had timed it perfectly, Twilight had just opened the door just in time. The girls waved her over, Donut Joe greeted Twilight before she took a seat.

"Sorry I overslept" Twilight said nervously, she looked at the girls stare at her, Twilight was confused she thought she made it just in time, Minuette was too excited that she had to quickly break the tension,
"We know Twilight, we love you being you though, but today is very important" she played the drums on the table top, and brought out flyers she created.

Twinkleshine took one look at the paper, it read
"Next month the Pegasus Academy will be doing a collaboration of skills with the Unicorn Academy, the talents will show will power, agility, ability and wits.
Everypony can participate
This collaboration is to bond with other pony's of different abilities and get to know one another"
On the bottom read the signing up sheet.

The girls looked at Minuette, "Are you crazy!" Twinkleshine said to her, Minuette looked confused,
"Minny we have 2 week till then and me and Lyra are busy with a fashion project"
Minuette frowned "But come on, no pony will join other than me so far, please girls"
Moondancer looked at her then shifted her glasses, "What trouble did you get into?" She glared

Minuette fiddled with her fingers then looked away, "Minny!" Lemonhearts chimed in demanding an explanation,
"I may or may not had destroyed the clock tower again or twice" she lifted her shoulders to act innocent. "Please girls, please! Anypony my grade needs it, Princess Celestia said I could repay her by doing the program but she needs more than 1 pony since there is 6 special Pegasus coming for the collaboration, but rest of their students will just be hangout with the other students"

Lemonhearts sighed she took out her calender from her pocket, she flipped through the pages with her magic, then nodded at Minuette indicating she wasn't free.

Minuette frowned then looked at Twilight and Moondancer who were also checking their calenders, she knew Twilight might not be free but had hopes for Moondancer. Moondancer looked up then shook her hands, Minuette then smacked her face onto the table, she had lost hope.

"I'm free" Minuette looked up, it was Twilight, saying she free, for once she's actually not busy,
"Really!" She beamed with excitement,
Twilight nodded, "Yeah my next 2 months are free, Princess Celestia must've had it cleared for the collaboration" she smiled at her.

"Omg! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!" Minuette galloped to Twilight then squeezed her into a big hug, "Now that means 3 random ponies that were gonna work with",

"4 Minny" Minuette looked at her, "Shamato, Shampoo same thing" waving away her correction. Minuette plopped back into her seat.
Then girls continued to bite into their donuts, Lyra and Twilight chatted, while the other chatted about the event.

Then someone came through the door it was a guard from Celestia, he walked over to Twilight handing her a letter then left. Gasps and awes came from everypony in the room, Twilight opened the letter, the girls leaned in the closer.
"What does it say?" Moondancer asked
Twilight quickly read it, then look up "Sunset Shimmer is expelled"

The girls gasped, Minuette reached over the table and looked at the letter,

"Dear Twilight Sparkle,
Due to an unfortunate argument Sunset Shimmer will no longer be working along side you in your studies.
I can't explain her expellment at this moment as it won't be any of your concerns

From Princess Celestia"

Minuette read it out loud, then folded it and handed it back, "Wow I can't believe it she's actually gone" Twinkleshine said in a sad tone,
"Well I mean we kinda saw it coming on how she acted towards everyone the past few years" Lemonhearts added.

Twilights eyes were in shock, she is now Celestia's prized pupil and she no longer has competition even though she never had seen it as one but still.

"Hey Twilight so does that mean your free then for the program?" Minuette asked
Twilight shook her head and stood up from her seat, "I promised I'll be with you and I'm keeping that promise, so no turning back now" she smiled
Minuette returned the smiled and hugged her again, this time very tightly.

The girls smiled at her, Twilight was always a true friend, and will forever.

2 weeks had passed and it was time for the collaboration month, Celestia and Minuette went to greet the other ponies, meanwhile Twilight decided to help Granny Cinnamon in the library to put away the books.

"Thank you Twilight dear no need to keep going, the ceremony is almost over"
Twilight looked down from the ladder and shook her head, "Don't worry I'm actually enjoying this" she climbed down and got another stack of books from the cart.

She walked over to the section and used her magic to put them away, she continued to help out until every book was gone. Twilight waved goodbye to Granny Cinnamon and headed to the ceremony hall.

On the way she stopped by her locker and picked up her satchel so she could head to her and the girls meeting spot in the gardens. Down the hallways shouting could be heard, "Fl- Se-- get your - back- !!!" Shouted muffled words, then a blue haired Pegasus dashed through the hallways corner, he didn't watch where he was going then bumped into Twilight,

The two landed on the floor, then the Pegasus teacher finally reached him, "Flash Sentry look at what you've done!" Shout the angry pony, he grabbed Flash by the ear and picked him off the ground.
Twilight sat up from the ground and meet his eyes, they were blue, he had on a leather jacket with his Pegasus Academy uniform underneath, his wings tried to fly away but he was being pinched by ear to even move.

"Apologize to her" growled the teacher, he looked her eyes they were violet that had stars in them, her uniform was very prectine and perfect. Then two girls with blue hair and teal hair ran up to her "Twilight! Are you okay?" The two asked she nodded at them,

"Watch where your going bird brain!" Minuette insulted him, his teacher pinched his ear more, "Ow ow ow okay!" He was finally let out of the pinch,

"I'm sorry for bumping into you, it was completely my fault" and bowed his head, Twilight waved it off but Minuette and Lyra took that as a sincere apology. The three went to the nurses office while Twilight looked back at the scolded Pegasus and she chuckled abit.

The Pegasus was then brought back down the hallway to the ceremony room.

The girls had brought Twilight to the gardens to where they were suppose to meet, Moondancer sat reading a short novel while Twinkleshine and Lemonhearts were playing chess. They looked over to Minuette and Lyra rushing with Twilight in their arms.

"What happened!" Twinkleshine said, Minuette explained that Twilight got knocked down in the hallway. The girls rush to comfort her,
"Girls I'm fine it's okay" she waved them off saying she just has a headache.

They brought her to the table, Twilight brought out her food while the girls brought out theirs. Twilights dad packed it that day, she had hay with oats, lettuce with tomato's and sauce, along with an apple.

"So tell us about this Pegasus" Lemonhearts asked curiously, Twilight shrugged, "What did he look like?" Twinkleshine asked, but Twilight also shrugged her shoulders.

"Come on Twi, there has to be one little detail on what he looked like", they heard chatter coming across the garden, it was more Pegasus they had different hair and eyes and their bigs wings were everywhere, they began to throw around a ball.

Twilight stood up from her seat and to tell them to stop, "Hey you guys, you should know that garden isn't for throwing things" she stood in their view, in the crowd of boys there was that blue hair Pegasus. He noticed her from before, his friend was about to make a come back,
But Flash shushed him and talked instead, "Sorry Sparky we'll go somewhere else", Twilight glared at him, they tried to walk away.

"It's Twilight Sparkle for your information, bird brain" Flash turned around while his friends followed his gaze,
"Yeah but Sparky has a more bling" he imitated sparks with with his fingers,

"Well it's Twilight for you, okay "Crash" her eyes then shifted her eyes to the girls then walked towards then, but Flash decided to talk back, "It's Flash!"
Twilight turned around, "Sorry but Crash it has a more stupidity" she chuckled then returned back to the girls who laughed with her.

Flash couldn't help but laugh too, his friend tried to joke about it on their way out of the garden but Flash punched them the more they talked about it. He turned to look at the purple pony who had just captured his attention, and he gave a smile, then walked away.
