Work Text:

The soft curl of fog slithered around Dazai's ankles. One moment he was chatting with his dear friend Ango, the next he was sat in a lovely chair, a basket of apples placed in front of him. He let out a soft scoff, rusty brown eyes narrowing as the two other men sat down.

Fyodor and Shibusawa.

Dazai had forgotten about them. He was busy with his child…and unborn baby afterall. Luckily Dazai's stomach was just barely a bump.

Sure his scent would give him away, but the scent blockers would work long enough for Chuuya to come get him.

A soft hiss slipped past his lips at the thought of his mate somewhere out there, somewhere where he didn't know if he was safe or not.

This fog was turning abilities against each other. Oh god, Dazai didn't even want to imagine Chuuya's ability hurting him. He shifted fingers curling around his stomach.

"Shall we go to the room?" Shibusawa hummed, his fingers daintily laid on the table. Dazai scrunched his nose, a slight sense of boredom flooding him. "I'm sure you'll find it quite intresting!" A slight roll of the eyes, followed by an awkward cough. Fyodor, in all his greasy glory, simply glanced out the window.

"Not going to let us explore first? You are quite eager my comrade!" Argh how Dazai hated that slimy russian voice. At least the rat wasn't looking at him. He tilted his head back, brown locks curling around his cheeks. It hadn't even been 30 minutes and he missed his stupid short mate. Ah surely Chibi had noticed Dazai's appearance. The omega was sure Chuuya would bust into this wretched castle thingy soon!

"Besides…our omega here, needs to rest as much as he can," Fyodor's voice draged Dazai's attention from daydreams to reality. "His stomach is quiet full." An icy chill gripped Dazai's spine, digging it's claws deeper and deeper. Noone but the ADA and Dazai should know about his unborn pup. His scent was hidden, his stomach barely a bump. There was no way…he could've known! "What's the matter, Dazai-kun?" He bit his tongue hard.

"Nothing," He forced a charming smile to his face. "Was just a bit shocked you knew!" Fyodor's smirk grew. Dazai gripped his fingers together, covering his stomach discreetly. Oh Chuuya where are you?

Chuuya slammed a fist into the table. "The fuck you mean he ain't here?!" Kunikida flinched slightly.

"I mean, from what Ango told us, Dazai is with Fyodor and Shibusawa." Chuuya let out a loud hiss.

"We need to find him! Who knows what they'll do to him!" The baby went unsaid. Chuuya took a deep breath. "Do we really have no leads?" An awkward silence fell over the group.

"He…disappeared without a trace," Atsushi murmered, nervous energy practically buzzing off of him. Kunikida set down some files, pushing his glasses up his nose.

"We have an idea where he could be," He turned to Chuuya, holding out his phone. "We can't say for sure this is the place." Chuuya snatched the phone from the blonde. A single red dot blinked on a map.

"What are we waiting for?" He questioned, sending the adress to his number. Atsushi squirmed besides him. Chuuya let out an exasperated breath. "You can't…theres something that's off right?"

"Bingo, Mr. Fancy Hat!" An annoying loud voice laughed. "As much as we'd like to go and rescue your mate, we can't just go in blindly!" The black haired snacking machine waved his hand aggressively, chomping on another damn sucker.

"I'll go. You back me up," He grumbled, grabbing his coat off his desk. "You guys figure something out, I'll go drag that idiot dumbass out of whatever situation he decided to get into this time," Kunikida nodded standing up.

"We'll start looking for more information. We should split into groups," The blonde gestured over to the others. Chuuya nodded, pulling his coat on, striding out of the Agency. His motorcycle was waiting him outside.

It took exactly five minutes to zip away to the location. A small store in the outskirts of Yokohama. It took a few sharp kicks to the door to send it crumbling. Chuuya's feet thumped against the ground as he swarmed the store. If Dazai was here he would find him. He had to.

His red hair whipped around as he used checked every corner of the store. Nothing. Nothing until he saw the counter. The counter held a photo with a knife sticking through it. A photo that made Chuuya's blood run cold. A picture of Chuuya and Dazai's young child. Their 5y/o Kyu. Chuuya knew this wasn't a by chance. They had been played. He knew it before his phone even began to ring.

"Chuuya! We were tricked! Kyu is gone! The ADA is focusing on finding him first can we-" Chuuya hung up. It was a waste of his time to hear the rest. He knew what was going on.

Fyodor was trying to get at him. He took the only things in this world Chuuya loved and he would regret it. He turned, storming out of the store. Fyodor would regret this. Chuuya would find them and he would make Fyodor pay for touching what was his.

Dazai was tied up. The rope burned into his skin, rubbing aggressively as he tried to escape. His precious child Kyu sat near by playing with Dazai's shoes. Luckily the young brown haired boy was alright. He wasn't injured in the slightest. Maybe a little spooked but nevertheless untouched.

Dazai sucked in another breath watching as Fyodor walked around the room waiting. The second Chuuya appeared Fyodor would leave. Dazai knew what the greasy haired man was thinking. He wanted to see Chuuya's panic when he saw what Dazai was wearing.

A bomb. A bomb strapped to his chest. If it went off it'd kill Dazai and his two children. It was wired to go off the second the redhead stepped in using his gravity manipulation.

The brunette trusted his partner, however he couldn't help but feel a bit nervous at the concept of Chuuya's ability being what brings Dazai to his doom. Though he supposes that wouldn't be a bad way to go.

He had a loving husband and two children now. He couldn't let this be his end no matter what. He couldn't die now. He had to stay strong for his two-

His thoughts were interrupted by the loud thumping of rocks being thrown against the wall. Chuuya.

"Chuuya wait-" Dazai began to yell only to have his mouth clamped shut by Fyodor. Chuuya pushed past the door frantically. He froze the second he saw Fyodor clutching Dazai like that.

“Let him go.” He hissed, fangs bearing as he stepped closer. Dazai let out a shuddering breath as the faint red of Chuuya's ability appeared. One step closer and he and his pups would be destroyed.

Chuuya paused, eyes scanning Dazai's face. His expression hardened as the red glow disappeared.

“Let him go.” Chuuya repeated, taking a step forward. Fyodor paused grip loosening. Chuuya must've noticed the bomb. His face was set almost calm as he continued walking forward. Fyodor would be powerless if Chuuya got close enough.

Fyodor clicked his tongue grabbing Dazai, cutting the bomb’s wire starting the timer and quickly shoving away. Dazai let out a yelp. His pup matched his yelp startled by the sudden noise.

Chuuya surged forward quickly grabbing the bomb, ripping it off and throwing it. It hit the wall exploding as Chuuya used his ability to protect the three from shrapnel.

A few yells as the ADA filtered in quickly securing the area and running to track Fyodor.

Chuuya hugged his pup and Dazai close to him, squeezing tightly.

“You're safe. Don't worry…” he breathed partially to himself as he nuzzled Dazai's neck. Their pup blinked, huge blue eyes sparkling.

“Papa, you were so cool!” the pup squeaked face brightening with excitement. Dazai broke into a tearful laugh, relief burning in his heart.

“Yes…yes he was.” Dazai breathed nuzzling Chuuya's head.

The world felt safe once more.
