Chapter 1
Elliot and Chance had been dating for a few weeks now, tonight they had a date, not too fancy, just a bar with a few people that chance is familiar with. The area wasn't that far from Elliot's work place, only a 10 minute drive or so. Luckily, Elliot had a ride.
"Yo, Eli!" a chipper voice can be heard from the car park outside the quiet pizza place. "Your shift ended five minutes ago dude!!"
Elliot, half asleep on top of the front counter, lifted his head up with very little strength and blinked about a thousand times until the little blob entering the door was clear enough for him to straighten up in embarrassment.
"O-Oh shoot! Sorry, Chance, it was a long day," Elliot rambled on, throwing his hands about as he frantically over explained. "and then the next thing you know its the slowest day ever and I just felt so tired..agh, I hope you weren't waiting long I-"
As he continued, Chance was already standing face to face with the stressed out pizza boy, watching him apologise excessively over nothing. As soon as Elliot actually processed that he was doing all of this in front of Chance, he quickly shut up, red quickly flushing over his cheeks. Chance grinned slightly as he spun on his heels and snapped his fingers.
"Relax, Eli, we have plenty of time." He held a hand out while Elliot practically ran over from behind the counter, his messenger bag clumsily pulled over his head as he rushed, excited for the night ahead of them.
Elliot liked how chance was so patient with him. He admired the gambler from the passenger seat beside him in Chance's car. His silver hair was sitting perfectly, the tiny peek of his golden eyes from the side were shining like the setting sun in front of them, and Elliot's most favourite feature of all? Chance's smug yet charming smile; Something about that grin of his…It made Elliot's heart flip in every single direction.
They were finally in front of Elliot's house. Chance adored how cute his partner was, it was hard to keep his cool composure when Elliot tried his best attempt at acting flirtatious when inviting Chance inside (it backfired terribly). They still had some time to kill, so Elliot got ready as fast as he could as he didn't want to keep Chance waiting. He stared in the mirror after the daily fight between his tangled curls and the hairbrush. He didn't do anything too extreme with his hair tonight, just tied back with some star-shaped shades resting on his head. He had thrown on his usual go-to casual outfit: a black t shirt with a plaid red shirt and some jeans. He never dressed as fancy as Chance did, but he still tried to have at least a little bit of fashion sense.
Elliot stood in front of the tall mirror, "Aghh..is my outfit too basic?..nahh its a bar, its casual! Right?….." he paced around and stopped to check his watch. 6:32PM. "Oh, I've been 10 minutes, he's probably waiting for me.." He fixes his bangs one last time before walking out into the living room. His apartment wasn't that big, it was only him living there after all, so he didn't really care for size. Chance was sitting on the edge of the couch, clearly losing it as Elliot walked out.
"You're…whoa.." he let out a nervous chuckle as he readjusted his shades.
"I'm whoa?" Elliot teased as he flattened his shirt out and walking over to sit beside Chance. "I feel like I'm looking a bit too boring to be whoa.." Elliot giggled awkwardly and fidgeted with the hem of his sleeve. However instead of responding, Chance seemed to be fixated on something else. "Hm? What are you looking at?" Elliot questioned with a puzzled expression, and Chance, without speaking, pointed atop his lovers head and smiled wide. Elliot tilted his head, confused, until he reached up and grabbed the shades.
"These are…" Chances voice was soft, admiring them in his hands. "These are SO CUTE!!" He smiled widely, sliding them onto Elliot's face. They both giggled. "Haha, I guess we're matching now!" Elliot nudged him. Both of them became lost in the shared laughter, then Chance pointed to Elliot's watch and realised how much time had went by already.
"We best get going sweetheart" Chance said casually, only to slap his hand over his mouth straight after. "I- I mean Eli! Ack, sorry, slipped out.."
Elliot just chuckled softly, he took Chance's hand in his, leading him to the door. "You're cute when you're flustered, yknow." Chance laughed at the stupid nickname, yet it still made him blush even harder. "And, I don't mind the nickname, its cute." He continued, a bit quieter this time.
They both got into the car, talking away about god knows what on their drive there, The date had only just begun, and they were already being nervous wrecks around each other.
