Lux and Lucy Slow dancing comic script

Summary:

In the novel, there was one paragraph on Lux teaching himself how to slow dance while watching Reginald and Helen, so I wanted to make my own interpretation with a bit of a twist of mine……. (it’s gonna so self indulgent af)

Made this rough script for a comic thats been boggling in my head for quite some time, so i wanted to write this down so I don't forget, plus i'm also a bit proud of it lmao

Let me know what you think in the comments!!! ^_^

Notes:

edit 10/15: The writing looks a bit rough than my usual fics sorry!! Uh I might come back and edit this if i'm motivated enough lololol

I think in this scene they are both in the apartment, or either in the animation studio late at night.

- Lucy is probably busy putting papers away for the night, when all of the sudden, she heard a rustle of the needle of a record. It’s playing Stangers of the Night (I have no idea when that song came out…) and it was Lucy’s favorite songs. She looked from left to right to see where that music was coming from, even out in the hallway.

- Mr. Ring a Ding/Lux, out of nowhere, then offered his hand for a dance.

Lucy: (caught off guard) Ah! Ring! You startled me….

Mr. Ring a Ding/Lux: (he chuckled and held out his hand as if to escort her):
        May I offer this dance?

Lucy: (a little hesitant) This late at night?

Mr. Ring a Ding/Lux: And what’s wrong with that? (cocky)

Lucy: It’s just uh…. I’m not a good dancer….

Mr. Ring a Ding/Lux:  Who says ya hafta be good at dancin’? It’s just us two…

Lucy: Um.. alright….

- (She hesitates to take Mr. Ring a Ding’s, being a 2d character, she was afraid that she might break him or damage him or something. She touched lightly on one of his blue fingers.)

Mr. Ring a Ding/Lux: What’s wrong, angel? Afraid of a little shock? (he quipped) I’ll take the lead dear

- (Lucy rolls her eyes at the quip and gently takes Mr. Ring a Ding’s hand, he then lunges her into his embrace. Mr Ring a Ding leading the dance)
- (Lucy was a little clumsy with her dancing at first but then got the hang of it, Mr. Ring a Ding was always so amused yet enamoured by her mannerisms. He wasn’t just seeking her for entertainment anymore, this was something else… Was this what Reginald Pye was feeling when he was dancing his love for the first time)

Lucy: You’re quite a good dancer… (she says in awe)

Mr. Ring a Ding/Lux: Says you! And i thought you were good at dancing!

Lucy: (she rolls her eyes) Don’t make me laugh. (she stole Mr. Ring a Ding’s catchphrase on purpose)

Mr. Ring a Ding/Lux: Hey now, that’s my line! (he said in a joking sarcastic way)

(They both chuckle and continue to slow dance for awhile. Lux had never felt THIS genuine)

Lucy: By the way, how do you know how to dance well? I’ve never really seen you slow dance in the cartoons before…

Mr. Ring a Ding/Lux: (he perks up from his dreamy gaze at her, looking like he was caught) Oh uh! Well, I learned it…. from a friend…

Lucy: A friend…? So Sunshine Sally?

Mr. Ring a Ding/Lux: Heh…. Yeah something like that…..

- Then we then fast forward to the Palazzo Theater in 1952, Lux summons Helen to dance with Reginald Pye. He then watches from afar in the projection room to watch them slow dance as he sighs dreamily, his antenna in a heart shape.
-  In the corner in the projection room though, theres what seems to be a
mysterious woman in white. She slowly walks up to Lux while Lux isn’t looking,
she slowly puts her hand up to his shoulder and what it looks like opening her lips trying to call his name

- Lux felt a chill up his spine and quickly turned his back to see what that was, no one. He felt, jealous…. angry that humans get to feel these things and not him…. not when he has no body. Sure, his cartoon form was fine, but still it was not enough. He needed a real body…
