Chapter 1: 𝓹𝓻𝓸𝓵𝓸𝓰𝓾𝓮
Chapter Text
𝓹𝓻𝓸𝓵𝓸𝓰𝓾𝓮
Rain poured from the sky heavily, coating the night in a moody darkness. The sky looked like a painting done entirely in grayscale...
depressing, melancholic and cold. So cold
A lone figure stood on an empty rooftop.
A woman.
Her short hair whipped in the wind as she faced the world beyond, the beautiful view in front of her, her back turned to the shadows behind her. Below
the faint city lights flickered casting reflections on rain slick streets. Tiny silhouettes moved beneath her, as if they are unaware of her existence in this world.
And yet despite the darkness, her pearl earring caught the light and glinted softly like a lonely star in a dark sky...
She stepped forward on the rooftop closer to the edge
Until a soft voice called her name
She turned only to find it is..

Chapter 2: New Job!
Chapter Text
"Ugh! Ow!"
Mizi jolted awake as she tumbled out of bed, hitting the floor with a thud. She groaned, trying to stretch
only to wince in pain.
Well, duh. That’s what she got for sleeping like a flying koala..
Seriously, who even sleeps like that?
"What time is it?"
She checked her phone, squinting at the screen.
"08:00 PM" was written on her phone screen.
"08:00 PM???"
"Damn!"
I'm late! Hyuna’s gonna kill me!"
Of course she is late she spent all night chatting with Till about that annoying rude guy who tried to hit her after she rejected him.
She sent him to hospital with a one punch to jaw.
And she didn’t even feel bad.
She jumped up, put on her glasses, and raced to get ready. She couldn’t be late.
Hyuna had some mysterious new job to show her, and whatever it was, it clearly couldn't wait.
after hours she finally got ready and Hyuna to Hyuna place.
Now.. Standing in front the penthouse doors
"I cant wait to see what Hyuna Unnie wants to show me.." I muttered my eyes wide with curiosity.
I'm so so excited!!
maybe because I had been broke for two months and desperately needed a job. Like,
desperately.
desperately....
I knocked once
Twice
The door swung open.
And there she was standing with crossed arms in the doorway, glaring at me.
Oh god.. those gray eyes, that messy yet so perfect Dark brown hair.
Why is she always hot?
“Hyuna!!” I grinned, throwing my arms out to hug her
just before she grabbed my wrist and yanked me inside.
"Why are you so late?" she said, sighing.
Oh no. She’s pissed.
"Sorry, unnie..." I mumbled. Dammit, I messed up.
Hyuna rolled her eyes and scoffed.
"You were up all night chatting with Till, weren’t you? Let me guess.. about that guy you sent to the hospital?"
"Huh? How did you know??" I blinked.
"Hyuna, I swear, if I find out you're a spy—"
She cut me off with a raised brow.
"Spying? Why would I need to spy on you?" Her tone was cool.
"Mizi, I don’t need to spy to know what’s going on with you. You’re... kind of easy to predict."
she looked away.
"Actually... it was Isaac who told me about the guy you punched."
Isaac.
He was there when it happened. He was the one who held me back.
Isaac, you traitor!
You told me you wouldn’t say a word if I gave you a hundred bucks
and I gave you the money!
I sighed.
That backstabbing little—
Before I could finish with my thought, Hyuna slung an arm over my shoulders and smirked.
"But you know what? I’m actually proud of you." her smirk widened
I blinked at her.
"Mizi, you showed me you’re not as weak as I thought. Honestly, you might even be stronger than me. So..."
I turned to her, suspicious but curious.
"So... you’re going to work as a bodyguard!" she announced, beaming.
" Excuse me??"
"A what now??" My eyes widened.

Chapter 3: Meeting Her
Chapter Text
Dewey’s car hummed quietly as it rolled up the hill toward the mansion.
I replayed Hyuna-unnie’s words that she said over and over in my head.
Who is this woman she kept talking about?
And why me? A bodyguard?? That woman she that I will work for is a model.. and
A model can afford a hundred guards
why pick me?
“You’re really going there wearing that?” Dewey’s voice cut through my thoughts.
“What?” I blinked.
He glanced sideways at me. “You’re meeting them wearing that?”
I looked down at my shirt. Right...black, simple… except for the huge I LOVE HOT WOMEN printed across the chest.
“Ahem… what’s wrong with it?” I asked, trying not to sound defensive.
He chuckled. “Nothing. Just zip up the jacket if you don’t want to get fired before you even start.”
“Oh. Okay.” I zipped the jacket to my chin.
The car slowed to a stop. My jaw dropped. “Whoa…”
The mansion rose like a palace..
glass, marble, and too many lights.
Inside, everything gleamed.
Damn..
Even the air smelled expensive.
Dewey and I took the elevator up. Ding.
The doors opened to an empty office. I glanced around. “So… where are they?”
Dewey only nudged me.
Then came the sound
—click, click—
heels against polished floor.
She appeared from the light behind her.
Short black hair swaying like silk. A white dress open at the collar. White heels. Tiny white flowers woven into her hair. Soft violet eyeshadow and the faintest pink blush. She looked like a doll...
No..
She looked like a dream I didn’t want to wake from.
I held my breath
Our eyes met
her violet against my chartreuse ones
and she smiled, gentle and unreal.
I could feel my heart beat going faster
“Oh,” she said softly, “so you’re the new one?”
“Yes, ma’am. The new bodyguard, I guess.” I glanced at the men in black suits behind her. Are they bodyguards too?
She giggled.
oh god even her giggles are so sweet..
Something flashed
shhk!
and a knife spun through the air. Instinct took over; my hand shot up and caught it by the handle before it could hit my face.
A deep voice rumbled behind her. “She passed.”
I turned. A tall man in a white suit stood there, dark hair slicked back, black eyes sharp with red pupils and, wait, did he have a fang?
The woman frowned at him. “Oh, Ivan, will you ever stop that?”
He smirked. “Relax, Sua. I was just testing her skills. We don’t want more weak people here.”
He said with a mocking tone.
Sua’s face darkened. Her hands trembled once, then clenched into fists.
SLAP!
The sound cracked through the room, sharp and clean.
Dewey leaned toward me, whispering, “That’s gotta hurt… she’s got a temper...”
I stared at Ivan. A red handprint bloomed across his cheek, but he didn’t even flinch!
just smiled, calm and dangerous.
My stomach twisted.
Just what did I get myself into?
