Chapter Text
Voices whispering, faint but biting:
“Your Quirk is a fantasy…”
“Your Quirk would never be taken seriously…”
“You’re just too soft-hearted and kind to be a hero…”
A sudden WHUURRT! WHURT! WHURT! cuts through the whispers. A light-blue hand shoots out and slaps the clock, silencing the alarm. A distinct feminine groan follows. Legs swing off the side of the bed, and a slender figure rises, stretching, straightening her pajamas, rubbing sleepy eyes.
She pauses in front of a mirror. Rainbow-colored hair cascades over her shoulders, her light-blue skin glowing faintly in the morning light, and her magenta eyes blink up at her reflection. She sighs softly.
“What day is it?” she murmurs.
Her gaze falls on a calendar. May 12, 2116. Her eyes widen, and she gasps. She snatches a towel and hurries into the bathroom, closing the door behind her.
Minutes later, the sound of running water signals the shower has begun. The scene cuts to her emerging, towel wrapped around her frame, blow-drying her rainbow hair with careful, practiced movements.
She rushes to her closet, pulling out clothes and stepping behind a Shoji screen. Moments later, she steps out: a crisp white button-up shirt, red tie with a small golden button, a dark blue-green pleated skirt, and a gray blazer with matching blue-green stripes along the collar and sleeve hems.
Suddenly, a voice echoes:
“Katsumi! You’re gonna be late!”
She straightened her hair one last time and offered a shy smile. Her parents, standing in the doorway, beamed at her.
“You look beautiful!” they exclaimed.’ Katsumi's cheeks flushed pink, and she instinctively hid behind her wings, letting out a small, nervous sigh. She nodded and smiled.
“Good! You’re already dressed! The bus to U.A. leaves in a few minutes, better hurry!” her father said, excitement in his voice.
“We’re proud of you,” her mother added softly.
Katsumi's heart swelled as she dashed out the door, thinking: 'I never thought I’d actually be able to attend U.A....but' and she thinks back to how it happened.
Katsumi enters her home after a long day, exhausted. She freezes, spotting her parents talking with the Principal of U.A. Nezu explains:
“We observed your performance at the Entrance Exams. Your quirk is unique, but your combat points were low—you prefer rescue over fighting. However, your grades and hero potential have caught our attention. We’d like to offer you a transfer.”
Back in the present, Katsumi stood before the towering gates of U.A. High School. The wind teased her rainbow hair, and her wings twitched slightly, sensing the thrill of new beginnings. She took a deep breath and stepped forward.
This was the start of something new. Her journey as a hero, not just in strength, but in heart, was beginning.
