ideas from my free time

Summary:

I quite like wasting time on social media like Twitter and Reddit, and sometimes that's what gives me ideas for stories I'd love to read, but since no one's done them and I don't know how to write, they just stay in the back of my mind until I forget them.

But since I don't want them to go to waste, I'll start leaving them here. If you're interested in taking the idea and writing something with it, I'm fine with it.

Noelle Holiday wasn't feeling well at all.

The loss of December affected her deeply, and the subsequent death of her best friend made it worse.

Even now, several years later, she can't help but think about Dess or Kris at least once a week, and therapy doesn't help much.

Today was one of those days when what she wanted least was to get out of bed, but her mother would force her to do it anyway. She knew it was for her own good; staying too long in her mind and memories always ended with her sobbing, but knowing it didn't improve her mood.

In the end, she got up on her own and looked in her closet.

She glanced past a certain headband with horns and fixed her gaze on a copy of her always classic sweater, took it out of the closet along with a black skirt, and for a second looked back at that headband before deciding to take it out too.

Once her outfit for the day was chosen, she took a quick shower and got dressed with the horned headband on her head, clashing slightly with her antlers.
Once ready, she went downstairs to eat something before leaving. When she was halfway down, she noticed one of the many heart-shaped pillows in her house, and a memory blossomed in her mind.

A boy with a headband was chasing her with a heart-shaped pillow in his hand, pretending it was his own soul. She shuddered before finishing going down; now without an appetite for anything, she just went out the door heading to school.

This story would basically be about Noelle overcoming the loss of Kris after their death while trying to stop the possible end of the world that she herself started by creating a dark fountain in the hopes of seeing Kris again.

These events would take place after Chapter 3 of Deltarune, in which Noelle takes Kris's place.
This story would stray quite a bit from canon, since TV World wouldn't occur when Kris wasn't present.

Instead, the dark fountain opened in the church, generating the events of Chapter 4 in Chapter 3.
During the events of Chapter 4, Noelle generates a vague hope that she could, at least temporarily, bring Kris back from the dead, as happened with Gerson in the first and third sanctuaries.

This is a brief glimpse of how the climax of this story would unfold.

"Noelle knew she was being naive; she knew that bringing a deceased person back with a dark fountain only happened in special cases of which she didn't know the requirements, but she had to try.

She had already gone too far at this point, and she wouldn't let it be in vain. After all, Kris always liked it when she broke the rules a little, and she didn't think that grave robbery was out of the parameters.

It always seemed eerie to her that the place where the Dreemurrs decided to bury their child was close to where their body was found, but she couldn't ignore how convenient it was now.

As she dug the earth where her friend's coffin had been buried, she couldn't help but reminisce about the events of the past few days.

That day began as a painful one, filled with old memories and a diadem she still wore, and ended with her as one of the Delta Rune's prophesied heroes, defeating a mad jester and saving a kingdom.

The next day in CyberCity was different and nostalgic. It was also when she began to see Susie as a trustworthy friend and felt comfortable with her.

But the church and the sanctuary changed everything.

When they entered the fountain, they didn't expect anything too different from what they had already faced, but the knight shattered that illusion.

They was terrifying and powerful, and she barely understood how they came out of that confrontation alive.

Then there was Gerson. The idea she was pursuing was born thanks to him. He was exactly the same as she remembered when she'd first seen him with Dess.

Her thoughts stopped when she felt the shovel in her hands hit something solid. Looking down, she saw the oak box with the heart design and the Delta Rune on its cover.

Kris's coffin.

She quickly finished digging them up, and once she opened it, she saw their face again after years had passed.

When the funeral took place, she heard that Toriel and Asgore had found a way to make their child's body never rot no matter how much time passed, and now she could see the result.

They looked so small inside their coffin at that moment; it clearly wasn't made for a child.

She quickly removed the body and placed it on the grass.

She checked their pockets for something.

-Bingo- she said with a forced smile, a tremble on her face.

From Kris's pocket, she took out a worn and rusty knife, clearly lacking the care its owner used to give it.

When she compared her own knife with Kris's, the difference was too obvious to miss.

She put her own knife back and took Kris's in her hands.

No longer able to wait any longer, Noelle jumped, and the sound of multiple impacts echoed through the silence.
A red glow ignited in the monster's eyes as she plunged the knife into the ground, and with a sound similar to a scream, darkness took shape.

Smoke rose into the sky, seeming to collide with the light and consume it in the process. At that moment, the bunker door opened, and another column of darkness rose into the sky, combining with the one Noelle had created, creating a dome around HomeTown."
