Chapter Text
As Hikaru and Yoshiki arrived back at Hikaru’s house, they quickly collapsed onto Hikaru’s bed.
“Ha! That was so fun, Yoshiki!” Hikaru giggled as he wiped some ice cream smears off his face.
“Yeah, it was.” Replied Yoshiki with a slight laugh.
Yoshiki softly cocked his head towards Hikaru. “Y’know, why did you want to get ice cream in the middle of winter? It’s already cold enough.” Asked Yoshiki.
“Well, I was in the mood for some ice cream, so, I got some ice cream.” Replied Hikaru.
They both chuckled.
Soon after, the room filled with awkward silence, it seemed to echo throughout the room. Hikaru had also been wanting to ask Yoshiki something for quite a while, but it never seemed to be the right time. Now though, it had seemed almost perfect.
“Let’s hope this doesn’t go wrong.” Hikaru thought to himself.
Hikaru sat up slowly and softly turned towards Yoshiki.
“Hey, Yoshiki. I’ve been meaning so ask you something.” Hikaru said firmly.
“What’s up?” Said Yoshiki as he sat up as well, and then continued to turn towards Hikaru.
The words practically fell out of Hikaru’s mouth.
“Well, you’ve just been… distant lately. It’s almost as if you’re never there, and when you are, you’re only there physically, not mentally. I- I’m just worried.” Hikaru awkwardly finished.
Yoshiki’s eyes widened, then he quickly looked away.
“You don’t need to be worried about me. I just had some stuff in my mind, what’s the problem with that? Maybe you can just stop digging in people’s business for once and mind your own damn business.” Mumbled Yoshiki with his head turned away from Hikaru.
Hikaru let out a soft gasp. Yoshiki has never snapped like that before. Maybe Yoshiki was right, it isn’t Hikaru’s business. Hikaru should just let it go.
Hikaru brushed it off quickly. “Okay, okay. Understandable. I just want to make sure that you’re okay, y’know?” Shrugged Hikaru.
There he was, at it again. Still not minding his own business. “So stupid!” Hikaru thought to himself. Yoshiki was probably pissed at him.
Yoshiki didn’t reply to Hikaru’s comment. All he did was stare blankly into the wall, like there was something bigger on his mind. Something that he was hiding from Hikaru, as always.
“I’m going to go.” Yoshiki dryly mumbled.
“Oh, alright. See you tomorrow.” Hikaru mumbled back.
Hikaru watched as Yoshiki lazily opened the door and walked out.
Hikaru replayed the words in his head. “See you at school tomorrow”. Couldn’t he have said something better? Well, it didn’t really matter now. It was already done.
Hikaru sighed, then when to sleep.
