Sunghoon sighed inwardly, watching Sunoo sway beside him for the sixteenth time in less than five minutes. His boyfriend had been extremely restless all afternoon because he'd posted some photos on Twitter and hadn't gotten the expected number of likes within a certain time frame. Sunghoon had told him to wait for the fans on the other side of the world to wake up during the night, but Sunoo hadn't listened and now he was like this, as if he'd drunk ten liters of coffee in a few hours.
Sunghoon could think of at least ten different ways to calm him down, but the day had been very hectic: they traveled in separate cars, then they had photoshoots in different locations, and now they were at the filmed interview for a special program. The fans were already going to have a feast with how Sunoo shook like a restless child beside him and looked up at him. Sunghoon could feel Sunoo's needy vibes without even looking at him. He noticed it every now and then; it was as if he was saying look at me look at me look at me without saying anything, which wasn't unusual between them. Sunghoon usually paid moderate attention to him in front of the cameras—because if he looked at him too much, he'd have an unbearable urge to kiss him all over again; his little mouth was too irresistible for him to afford to look at it in front of everyone—but at that moment, he knew he had to restrain himself. The more intense Sunoo became, the more Sunghoon wanted to hug him and kiss him and rock him and hide him in his arms from the world, and that's why he couldn't give him his attention right now, because he was afraid he'd do something too excessive that would earn them an entire hour of scolding from his public image team.
So he did the best thing he could think of, staring at Sunoo for a moment as he rocked back and forth, looking anywhere but at him—because Sunoo could be the most stubborn and proud thing when he wanted to be, and that could mean giving Sunghoon the silent treatment for ignoring his nonsense for ten minutes straight. His boyfriend pretended not to notice, and that was the moment Sunghoon took advantage of to press his thumb and index finger against Sunoo's bare knee, drawing his attention. He didn't want to touch him too much, or look too clingy, he just wanted to get his attention.
Sunoo immediately looked at him with wide eyes, looked down at Sunghoon’s giant hand on his knee, and seemed to be processing the image because he didn't react immediately. Sunghoon was faster and removed his hand. Sunoo seemed to react and tapped his knee with his fist through his pants, but it didn't have the same effect. He continued tapping Sunghoon lightly until he remembered they were on camera and tucked his clasped hands into his lap, but after that, he seemed to calm down a bit. Even the slightest touch from Sunghoon could calm Sunoo, they both knew that.
"Thanks for coming. I hope you have a safe trip home," the MC said goodbye a while later, but Sunghoon and Sunoo were already halfway out the door, following their manager. It was like a silent agreement, but they both wanted to ride together in the car this time.
The ride to the dorms was quieter than when they'd left that morning. It was already getting dark, and Sunoo took advantage of the darkness in the van to play with Sunghoon's fingers on the seat or intertwine theirs from time to time. No one bothered them along the way; it seemed everyone had noticed how anxious Sunoo had been all day. Only Jungwon peeked out to see if they needed anything, but when he saw Sunghoon's face, it became clear to him who was going to be in charge of calming his friend down.
When they arrived, they all ate together. Sunoo was closer to Sunghoon's side than usual, almost climbing onto his lap to eat. Sunghoon fussed over him throughout the meal, passing him bits of vegetables and meat and urging him to eat well.
“Hyung, if you keep putting food on my plate I'm going to get chubby.”
“I don't care, I like your cheeks when they're full, so eat.”
“I really can't believe how disgusting you two are. Ever since you started dating, you've been like a ball of sugar and hearts.” Niki complained, getting a few laughs from the rest of the group.
“Leave them, Niki, it's called the honeymoon phase,” Jungwon said.
“Well, it seems like the honeymoon never ends in this house, you and Jay Hyung spend all day like that.”
After Jay tapped him on the back of the head, everyone continued eating and talking about their day, but Sunghoon and Sunoo were quieter and stiller than usual, their legs were intertwined under the table and the contact had them too distracted from the conversations.
When everyone went to sleep that night, Sunghoon and Sunoo stayed on the couch in the living room, with a movie none of them was watching in the background, holding hands and lightly caressing each other. Sunoo was leaning on Sunghoon's shoulder, the same thing he'd wanted to do during the show that afternoon but hadn't dared. His legs were draped over Sunghoon's. All he wanted was to be on top of his handsome, warm boyfriend.
“Do you feel better now?” Sunghoon asked softly, near his forehead, before placing a small kiss on Sunoo’s hair.
Sunoo sighed and nodded, growing even closer. But Sunghoon knew he wasn't completely at peace yet. Sunoo was usually very talkative, and he still didn't seem to have recovered all his energy, the spark he loved so much.
He brought their intertwined hands up to his mouth and began placing kisses on each of Sunoo's fingers, noticing his gaze. Then, after untangling their hands, he began kissing his palm, moving up to his shoulder, his neck...
By the time he reached Sunoo's lips, moist and plump just the way he liked them, they were already parted, waiting for the kiss. One that never came.
Sunghoon smiled against his mouth and kissed his nose instead.
“I want you to go on Twitter and check the photo,” he murmured before reaching over Sunoo to grab the phone that had been left in a corner of the couch.
Sunoo rolled his eyes but did as his boyfriend instructed, his face immediately lighting up as he began using his phone screen and searching for what Sunghoon had asked for. He watched closely as Sunoo's face brightened as the seconds passed, probably seeing the attention his post had received.
When Sunghoon was satisfied with the result, he took the phone out of his hand.
“Hey!” Sunoo complained with a pout, but his face changed when he saw Sunghoon's expression.
“You're so cute and they love you, you don't have to worry about whether your post gets more or less likes. You're the prince of Korea, don't forget that.”
Sunoo blushed as he remembered the nickname he'd been given in i-land. Sunghoon immediately laughed and picked him up and placed him on his lap, gently stroking his bare legs in his pajama shorts.
“You're a good boyfriend,” Sunoo murmured, hugging him by the neck and sighing softly against his cheek. “Just because you're shy and handsome, they think you're cold, yet you're the warmest person I know.”
“After you, you mean,” Sunghoon said in response, smiling softly before placing a small kiss on Sunoo’s soft, fluffy cheek. “You’re such a bright sun, it’s immediately noticeable when you fade even a little.”
“Turn me on then,” Sunoo replied with a flirtatious smile, and Sunghoon couldn't resist any longer, the heat and the sugary scent of Sunoo already had him on the edge of his self-control.
He took Sunoo's lips with his own, tracing a soft rhythm between them. Sunoo's mouth tasted minty, but it was sweet, as sweet as sugar flakes, sunshine, ice cream. Sunghoon suspected his boyfriend's taste was addictive because he never felt like he could get enough.
He pulled him closer if that were possible. After a few kisses, Sunoo became like a moldable jelly, pressed against him at every possible point. There wasn't even a bit of space between them as they kissed, warm, taking in everything from each other, indulging in sweet caresses while Sunghoon's hands grazed Sunoo's small waist and soft thighs.
“We can't do it here,” Sunoo complained, feeling his boyfriend's hand travel under his shirt, Sunghoon’s cold hands caressing his bare back. “If Niki shows up, he's not going to let us in peace like ever.”
“I'll ask Jungwon to let us have the room tomorrow,” Sunghoon assured with a chuckle, breathing against Sunoo's neck before placing kisses there. “I miss waking up with you in my arms. A few jokes in the morning from the boys are definitely worth it.”
“I don’t know, they can get pretty annoying,” Sunoo teased, and Sunghoon smiled because he knew he didn’t mean it at all. They cherished all the members of enhypen. “I love you, Hoon. Thanks for always looking out for me.”
“I love you more, my baby. I’ll always take care of you.”
They hugged each other before sharing another kiss, less heated, but no less sweet.
Sunghoon kept him close, his boy, his Sunoo, all night. He would guard his sunshine at all costs.
He really couldn't wait for next week when the internet would be filled with edits of them both fooling around during the interview. They were his favorite part of going on TV shows, always.
