Gourdy and Sprout were in the little kitchen that had been built for Sprout and Cosmo a good while ago. Gourdy didn’t get to see his brother much, so it felt nice to hang out with him, even if it was only for about a month. The two were making cupcakes together, since Sprout’s idea of making pumpkin bread irked Gourdy (it felt like cannibalism...)
Gourdy looked up to Sprout, figuratively and literally. He was tall, with a little scruffy leaf-growth on his chin, and messy hair (well, they were leaves styled like hair.) He was...handsome, like the story books he had of knights in armor. It always got his heart pounding a bit, when he saw him. His seed-freckles, his calloused hands, his little tooth gap... It all made Gourdy feel funny. He mentioned it to Dandy, not naming Sprout by name, and he said it was definitely love.
Sprout quietly focused on baking. He wasn’t as good as Cosmo, but he was much better than anyone else at baking. He had given the bowl to Gourdy to mix; the bowl was much too big for Gourdy, but he was just happy to be included. Sprout, meanwhile, was preparing the frosting as well as the sprinkles. Gourdy carefully tipped the bowl into the cupcake liners, accidentally poured half the bowl out, so now the pan was flooded. Sprout just chuckled and sighed, wiping some batter off of Gourdy’s face. This made his heart flutter, and just stared.
“Uh, Pumpkin...You alright?”
“O-oh uh, y-yeah, I’m fine! Sorry for the mess...” He frowned.
Sprout shrugged, and smiled. “Eh, Its nothing, don’t worry. Trust me, I’ve done much worse.”
Gourdy smiled back. Sprout managed to spread the rest of the batter into the containers, and poured the rest into another pan. He popped them into the oven. The two headed over to the plastic seats and tables to sit at, till the cupcakes were ready to be decorated.
“Hey Sprout? W-what should I do if uh...I have a crush on sometoon?”
For a split second, Sprout looked hurt... but maybe his mind was just messing with him. “Ohh? Is it a certain eightball?” He leaned closer, smirking.
“W-what?! No, I only see Toodles as a friend, I-” He stammered. Weirdly enough, this made Sprout seem more relaxed. “I just...what am I supposed to do?”
Sprout snorted. “Just go up and tell them? What’s the big deal?”
Gourdy frowned. He was worried if he said more that’d it would reveal his crush. He fidgeted, looking away from his brother.
“Hey, Gourdy, its fine...” He said gently. “If you need help confessing your crush, just tell me, okay? My job is to help everyone, even my little brother.” He placed a kiss on Gourdy’s forehead. Gourdy looked up, and saw a warm look in Sprout’s eyes. He hugged him, tightly.
After a few minutes longer, Sprout pulled the cupcakes out. They smelled wonderful; sweet, and warm. It was frustrating to have to wait for them to cool off before they decorated and ate them. Sprout, noticing this, gave Gourdy one, saying it didn’t look quite right so he should just eat it, which he happily did. When he was done getting the last little bits of cupcake from the wrapper, Sprout announced that the cupcakes should be cool enough. He held Sprout’s hand, and followed him back to the counter, with the pans on top.
He loved decorating these cupcakes, even if he wasn’t nearly as good as his big brother. Gourdy put spooky sprinkles all over his. Meanwhile, Sprout meticulously put frosting on his, trying to get every cupcake perfect. Gourdy couldn’t help but feel like Sprout was watching him as he made the cupcakes. But every time he looked at Sprout, he quickly looked away.
I’m a monster, Sprout thought, his hands shaking as he applied frosting to the cupcakes. Why did he have to have a crush on his cute little brother?! He was so gross...
He tried to sneak some peaks at his little body as he haphazardly put sprinkles on it. His little ass, his tiny bulge, his adorable smile...
This is your own brother, Sprout! You freak.
Sprout bit into a cupcake, trying to ignore the feelings and thoughts in his head.
“Sprout?” His voice was so adorable...
“Y-yeah, Gourdy?”
“Did I do good?” He held out a messily decorated cupcake. It had white on it, as did his face and hands. All he could think of was...Sprout’s cum on him. Fuck you monster-
“Sprout?” He called again.”
“Y-yeah, you did amazing little guy!” He pat his head, smiling.
It was later, and Sprout was in Gourdy’s little room, looking at the drawings on the wall. They were mostly of their ‘parents’ (Sprout knew that the only actual people who could be called their parents were Deliah and Arthur, and that the pumpkins that were created to be his parents weren’t real). He quietly watched his brother cuddled up in his bed, snoring.
He picked up a plushie from the floor, it smelt heavily of Gourdy. Surely he wouldn’t mind if he took it... He began to tip-toe away, trying his best to not stir Gourdy.
When he got back to his room, he just stared at the plushie. It had been a bit hard to see in the darkness of Gourdy’s room, but now in his, he could see it was a little plushie spider. It was soft to the touch, and honestly was more cute than creepy. Sprout was reminded how Gourdy would hide the plushie in Sprout’s room in an attempt to scare him. He laid in bed, trying to think quietly. He cuddled it, scooping it gently into his arms. It smelt strongly of Gourdy, a sweet pumpkin pie smell, mixed with crayon wax and a bit of sweat.
His thoughts drifted to what Gourdy had nervously mentioned today. A crush.
Could he...could he have a crush on me? No, no, that’s pretty out there. It was just wishful thinking.
He began to fall asleep in bed, clutching the spider plush tightly to himself.
