Chapter Text

It was a normal Saturday afternoon. Katherine was manning the desk, Nathan beside her to identify if a visitor was a ghost or not. Esther and Ben were god knows where, and Abaddon was in the Lobby with his army of Blenders.

There was a tight knock on the door and a man with a 1700s priest uniform came in. The hole in his stomach was evidence enough that he was a ghost.

Nathan walked up to him to greet him, though before he could get a word in the priest spoke.

“No need for greetings I’m here to find someone. You wouldn’t happen to know of a young child possessed by a demon, would you?”

Nathan didn’t stop before saying, “Well there’s a lot of demons in this place, not sure if any are possessing children though…” Abaddon having clearly left his mind at the moment.

Abaddon then ran after the orange he was trying to blend but had accidentally dropped. At that moment the Priest’s eyes locked onto Abaddon.

“What about that kid” He said, trying to act calmly.

“Oh that’s just Abaddon, don’t mind him” Nathan replied, almost dismissively.

“May I have a word with this… “Abaddon”?” The priest spoke with a hint of annoyance.

“Umm sure? Don’t know why you’d need to but go ahead” Nathan replied.

The Priest walked up to Abaddon and looked at him with softness for a second, before remembering that that was no longer his son, but a demon. He pointed at Abaddon and said with an angry, grim tone.

You…

Chapter Text

Abaddon looked up at the quite familiar priest. He knew how to catch the priest off guard, so he tried to use the vessel’s information to his advantage.

Me? What do you need with me?

The priest looked at him sternly, anger written all over his face. He spoke with that same tone he spoke over 300 years before when figuring out Abaddon was possessing his son.

“You know what you did. You know why I need you. You’re the reason I’m stuck here on earth and not in heaven.”

Abaddon realized the priest had a point but he still spoke cluelessly “You know, it doesn’t ring a bell. How is it my fault you’re not in heaven or whatever?”

The priest raised his voice, not quite yelling, not quite speaking normally. “You were the one who possessed my son, took him from god, and then pushed me off a cliff! How you managed to survive all of these years baffles me.”

Abaddon decided to stop the whole “clueless” facade and act normally. He replied clearly a tiny bit frustrated. “I survived because I am immortal. That clearly didn’t cross you mind did it. You must think your god is the only immortal being out there, well you’d be wrong.”

That seemed to tick off the priest and he lunged at Abaddon. He didn’t know if his ghostly form could touch him but he’d find out soon enough.

Abaddon did not want to find out so Abaddon ran (well more like scurried) into the vents. He sat just out of reach and chuckled at the Priest’s struggles, until the priest phased through the wall to get to him.

Abaddon jumped at the priest phasing through and scurried farther through the vents, trying to get somewhere where the priest could get. So he went down to where the vents went farther down under the floor. He was pretty sure he was safe there. From what he knew from Nathan, ghosts couldn’t go through floors and ceilings.

Nathan walked up to the priest and put his hand on his shoulder. Sir, I’m afraid you’re not allowed to harm Abaddon since he’s technically apart of the staff.

The priest looked back at Nathan like he was insane, and spoke with pure confusion. “But he’s…he…thats a demon! Are you telling me you’re protecting a demon!? One who possessed a child and killed his father at that!”

Nathan spoke back, heavily exasperated “Yes he’s a demon but he’s not harming or allowed to harm any of the guests, and ghosts like us aren’t allowed to harm any of the guests or staff. If you do not comply you’re staying outside by the property line.”

The priest groaned, walked towards the door and left. Slamming the door on his way out.

Hearing the slam, Abaddon peeked a bit out of the vents and looked at Nathan “Is he gone? Can I go back to my army?”

Nathan sighed and looked down at Abaddon, still speaking in an exasperated tone. “Yes Abaddon, you can use the blenders, just don’t shut off the power again”

Abaddon smiled and scurried out of the vents, running to the blenders he replied with a half hearted “I’ll try not to!” Before plugging in all of the blenders at once.

Notes:

Thanks for the nice words! This will probably be the end of this little story, but I will probably make other fics for other fandoms. Sorry it’s a bit short again, I’m bad at writing long stories 😔

Notes:

Sorry this work is so short and so bad, but oh well, hope you enjoyed 🥲
