Yuuka Goes to McDonald's

Summary:

Yuuka goes to her local fine dining establishment and is a bit upset when she finds out she's too late to order breakfast

Work Text:

Yuuka Kazami awoke suddenly to the horribly aggravating sound of her alarm clock, using the small amount of willpower she possessed at this hour to avoid slamming the vile contraption against the wall of her cottage. Despite loving the morning, it seems as though she never quite enjoys the experience of waking up.

Yuuka could hear the floor creak lightly as she climbed out of her bed. For a few moments she strongly contemplated simply returning to sleep, but she knew well her master plan for the day was on a strict schedule. Lurching forward, she brought herself to the bathroom, a cramped space that always seems to be many degrees hotter than the rest of the house. For the briefest moment, she tried to smile in the mirror, but quickly looked away; it was forced, unnatural, ugly, it held the same type of beauty held by a leper imp. Many people had criticized her in the past for the lack of emotion she shows, many had shared behind her back that just from her appearance they believe her a killer, yet, Yuuka could not help but to feel that she looked prettier without a smile. Grabbing a can of deodorant from the area near the sink, she proceeded to spray herself down, hoping it would compensate for the fact she hadn't showered since last Thursday.

The green haired girl, feeling nearly relaxed for both the first and last time today, stepped out of the bathroom and glanced at the clock hung high on her wall. "...10:21AM!?" She immediately began to panic realizing how late it was and ran out of the house. McDonald's is about a 25 minute walk away from where she lives, but with a fast enough sprint she might just make it in time. The few people she passes by on her way to the establishment all look at her in confusion, questioning what could possibly be happening in her life to spark such acute alarm.

In what felt like only a couple minutes to Yuuka, she burst through the doors of her local McDonald's location. Sweat stained her clothes and ran down her forehead as she approached the only cashier in sight.

"Can I help you?" Spoke the cashier, a blonde woman who evidently hadn't any idea how to do her makeup and smelled strongly of tobacco.

Yuuka made her best attempt to sound friendly, only barely succeeding. "Yeah, I'd like a Sausage McGriddle, uh, two of the hashbrowns, hmmm…"

Before Yuuka could speak another word, the cashier chimed back in. "Sorry Ma'am, we stopped serving breakfast a few minutes ago. You can order from the regular menu if you'd like."

Yuuka slowly looked down at her watch, seeing it was 10:37AM, 7 minutes after McDonald's stops serving breakfast. With any pretense of friendliness fading, she looked back up to the cashier. "...Listen, lady, you REALLY don't want to make me mad here. It isn't even a full 10 minutes. I know you've still got a few breakfast items laying around back there, just hand them over to me and I'll be on my way."

The cashier was starting to become obviously discomforted, perhaps even scared, by Yuuka's presence. "It's just our policy, there's not-"

Yuuka quickly cuts off the increasingly scared minimum wage worker "Do you have a manager back there? Call over your manager, I'd really like to have a conversation with him."

The cashier looked at Yuuka in silence for a moment, before turning her head to the back of the restaurant. "Nick! we got a customer who wants to see you."

The manager, a brown haired man with a forced customer service smile stretching across his face, approaches the counter. "Can I help you, ma'am?

"Yep, my problem is I really want bre-" Yuuka is quickly cut off by Nick. "We stop serving breakfast at 10:30AM. You'll have to get something from the regular menu." While his smile doesn't fade, the muscles in the man's face begin to betray him, twitching in growing anger.

"...I don't want to be your friend, Nick, just get me a little breakfast." Yuuka sounds equally bewildered and irritated by both the manager and the cashier.

"I'm really sorry." Nick says to Yuuka, in a tone that makes it quite clear he is not sorry in the slightest.

"...Well, hey, I'm really sorry too." Yuuka suddenly pulls a TEC-9 out of her dress, pointing it at the ceiling as the cashier and several people eating begin to scream. "Okay, calm down everyone! I'm not going to-" Yuuka accidentally squeezes the trigger, as she was never taught the concept of trigger discipline, leaving 3 bullets lodged in the ceiling of the McDonald's. "CALM YOURSELVES! It just has a sensitive trigger, I didn't mean to shoot anything!"

The cashier and manager are both hidden behind the counter, both panicked to the point they sound as though they're about to cry. "Holy shit, just go over to the freezer and get this woman whatever she-"

Yuuka is quick to cut off the manager. "Actually, Nick, we've really been through a lot together, you and I. I think it's for the best YOU get my Sausage McGriddle and hashbrowns."

The manager slowly returns to his feet, looking as if he may pass out from stress. He doesn't say anything to Yuuka and hastily returns to the back of the kitchen to make Yuuka her order.

As Nick finally returns with Yuuka's food, she puts her TEC-9 back in her dress and takes a bite of her hashbrown. Sadness becomes etched upon her face as it dawns on her that she had just committed a felony over stale breakfast food.
