𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘬𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘶𝘭.
Was Izuku's final thought before he left this place for good. Before he left behind all the torment, pain, and disappointment.
He yearned for the peace of death. He didn't have any people left who cared about him. His own mother dropped her act of caring when he was pronounced quirkless.
Despite this, he hesitated.
His hesitation was because of 𝘩𝘪𝘮.
He didn't know why it was him of all people.
His former childhood best friend.
One of the main reasons he was on this roof.
Why does he still care? He wanted him gone most of all.
The cause of his broken heart, his worthless feeling, his numbness, his scars.
𝘒𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯.
Slowly, tears began to fall.
This was what 𝘩𝘦 wanted, so why does he care so damn much about 𝘩𝘪𝘮?
In a fit of anger, he chucked his notebook off the roof as hard as he could.
His tears became loud, ugly sobs.
𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘴.

"Hey Bakugo!"
He turned his head towards the sound of the voice. He recognized the boy's face from school, but had no idea what his name was.
"What do you want?" He replied, not even pretending to act interested in whatever he was going to say.
"I think that Midoryia kid is finally going to kill himself!" The boy announced, before erupting into cruel laughter.
𝘋𝘦𝘬𝘶?
No, he wound never.
𝘙𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵?
Shit.
Katsuki's mind started racing.
𝘏𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵.
He wanted to scream, he wanted to cry.
𝘊𝘳𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘸𝘦𝘢𝘬𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴.
But in that moment, Katsuki felt like a weakling.
He took a deep breath, pretending not to care.
"And where did you hear that?" He questioned.
"Found his notebook when I was walking beside the school! Said some shit about you being right when you told him to dive off the roof!"
Fuck.
No.
Not him.
Not Deku.
𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘺 𝘧𝘢𝘶𝘭𝘵.
He quickly rushed to a narrow, dark alley so he could allow a few slow, hot tears to fall.
He felt so shitty in that moment.
𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘺 𝘧𝘢𝘶𝘭𝘵.
𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘸𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯.
𝘎𝘦𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘵 𝘵𝘰𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳.
He hoped to a god he doesn't believe in that he'd be on the school rooftop, as it was his only guess.
Maybe, just maybe, if he made it in time...

He sat down on the ledge, peering over to get a good look at the ground.
The sky really was beautiful.
The way the sun dipped below the horizon, the various hues of pinks, reds, oranges, and yellows painted across the sky.
His thoughts were interrupted by a noise.
"Deku!"
𝘒𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯?

Katsuki bolted down the various streets leading to the school, causing some that were in vehicles to nearly crash.
𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘺 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵. He thought when an older man in a car started yelling at him. He knew it was his fault, he ran out in front of the car, but he didn't care.
His mind was on him.
Just him.
He imagined his lifeless, broken body laying on the sidewalk below and pushed himself to run even faster.
He found the quickest route up to the school's rooftop, which he was pretty sure he wasn't allowed to go anywhere near, judging by the fact the old, rusty ladders could barely support the weight of a middle-schooler. However, he couldn't bring himself to care. He was focused on one thing only.
When he hauled himself over the ledge, he spotted a figure, easily identifiable by his messy green hair.
"Deku!" He managed, despite his breathlessness.
He cautiously turned his head, and Katsuki ran up to him, tears started falling again, however, he barely noticed.
"Come to laugh at me? You're finally getting what you've wanted for so long" he said in an almost mocking tone.
"Goddammit Izu!" He yelled, voice trembling.
Well, that was unexpected.
Izu?
Maybe he did still care.
"I swear to fucking god, if you dare go over that ledge I'll kill you myself before you hit the concrete!" The blonde yelled, voice full of emotion.
It may have sounded like a threat
But when you know him
You know it means he cares.
Now his own tears began to fall again.
"Why do you care?" He asked.
"I can't bear to lose you Izuku. I've said some horrible things to you that I can never take back or be forgiven for, it is hard to believe, but you have always been the light of my world. You never gave up on me, despite how horrible I was" he took a deep, shaky breath before continuing, "I'm glad some asshole extra found your notebook, or i wouldn't be standing here right now."
Izuku was shaking and sobbing in that moment, he stepped back and Katsuki brought the boy into a long hug, wrapping his muscular arms around him, as if he never wanted to let go again.
"Fuck you asshole, don't ever scare me like that again." He huffed.
"I'm sorry Kacchan." Izuku mumbled.
"Don't apologize." Katsuki practically growled out.
"But I scared you." The green-haired boy whispered.
"𝘐 should be the one apologizing. I'm the reason you're up here." The blonde snorted.
Izuku sighed and pulled away from their embrace. Katsuki lifted his hand to gently cup his cheek. Izuku leaned into his touch.
"Kacchan."
"Deku"
They stared at eachother for another moment before leaning in, everything seemed to be moving in slow motion.
It felt like an explosion when their lips connected in a gentle kiss.
The shorter boy wrapped his hands around the back of the other's neck, who wrapped his arms around his torso in response.
"Kacchan - I -" he started to say when they eventually pulled apart.
"I love you." The blonde said for him.
Izuku smiled.
"Yeah, that"
