The meteors shot through the sky in a rainbow of impossibly bright colours, flaring for a second, then gone. The rain may have made it hard to see them if they were on Earth, but this was not Earth. Here, the rain glowed with the lights from the meteors.
The Doctor had landed them on a clifftop and was holding his umbrella up, creating a bubble of dry around them. Ace breathed in the alien air slowly and deeply.
"Professor, this is brilliant!"
"I once knew an air steward who was very fond of that word," replied the Doctor thoughtfully.
