Chapter 1: The Longest Day of Izuku's Life

Chapter Text

To say that Izuku’s day has been eventful would be an understatement. First he directly confronts the ultimate evil of his world alongside Aoyama. Next thing he knows he finds himself dragged through the wrong warp gate by Himiko Toga. She then confessed her love for him which threw him for a loop. He then rushes back to the UA grounds only to find his lifelong friend dead as a doornail. On top of that he had to fight Tomura Shigaraki for the fate of the world.

But through all the trials and tribulations this day has put Deku, his friends, and allies through they triumphed. Izuku successfully defeated All For One and Shigaraki while keeping One For All. But he didn't even get a chance to celebrate the hero's victory. He was jumped by a PLF member that had some sort of portal making quirk. Now the boy finds himself a random dumpster in an alleyway.

“Man, I really can't have anything, can I.” Izuku said with a justified annoyance considering what happened to him.

“Okay so where exactly am I?” Izuku thought to himself. He crawled out of the dumpster he landed in and slowly walked out of the alleyway and into the sidewalk of the city. He stood there for a while taking in the sights and sounds of the city. It was nice to see a non destroyed city for a change.

“Ninth, are you okay?” The voice of Yoichi, the first user of One For All, asked with his trademark quiet and kind tone.

“Yeah I'm fine first. Just a little shaken is all.” Izuku replied. Izuku began to walk down the sidewalk of the street he was on. People passing by him gave weird looks. He didn't blame them though, he probably looks like garbage.

“Okay, the first piece of business is figuring out where exactly I am.” Izuku thought. He kept walking looking at the signs of the various businesses hoping to find something familiar. The more he walked the more his hope of the world being like his dimmed.

“We're here if you need to talk to us ninth.” Nana Shimura, the seventh user of One For All, said compassionately. Izuku just kept on walking. Everywhere he looked this world was reminding him that he was an outsider. That he didn't belong here. A stinging sensation began to build up in his chest as the feeling he thought he escaped began to resurface. The feeling of being a freak, the odd one out, the feeling of being a deku.

“Hey kid are you okay? You look lost.” A kind older woman asked, breaking Izuku out of the flurry of negative emotions.

“I guess you'd be right about that last part. Where am I?” Izuku asked, hoping to at least get a general idea of where he is.

“You're in Shizuoka.” the woman replied. This got Izuku's hopes up just a little.

“It's a long shot but maybe, just maybe Musutafu is here. Maybe I got flung into the past.” Izuku thought, hoping for some form of familiarity from this world.

“Does the city of Musutafu exist here?” Izuku asked awkwardly, realizing how strange a question like that actually sounds after having said it.

“Musutafu? Sorry I'm afraid I've never heard of a city by that name.” The woman said, inadvertently dashing Izuku's hopes.

“Oh. Thank you for telling me where I am, ma’am.” Izuku replied in a slightly depressed tone. A fresh new wave of negative emotions began to wash over him. A mixture of sadness, loneliness and anger began to slowly pull him into the abyss that was his current mental state.

“You betrayed them.” A voice said coldly.

“They put their faith in you!” Another voice shouted.

“You've left them again.” A third voice chimed in.

“Katsuki and the others were right about you!” A fourth declared angrily.

“What kind of hero allows himself to be taken off guard by some faceless lackey?" A fifth voice asked.

“How could someone like you be worthy of being a hero?!” The sixth voice questioned with clear hateful judgement in their voice.

Izuku's thoughts were interrupted by a loud noise from the real world: a siren. The loud foreboding wailing of the siren echoed throughout Shizuoka. People began to run to what appeared to be specially marked bunkers that Izuku had never seen before.

“What's going on!?” Izuku shouted while avoiding panicking people that were pushing others out of the way to ensure they got into the bunkers.

“A Kaiju is attacking!” A man screamed while running for the bunkers.

“A Kaiju Attack!/A Kaiju Attack!” Izuku and the previous wielders of One For All thought. That's when Izuku felt the ground beneath him shaken. The sound of buildings being smashed into. The sirens, ground shaking and buildings merged into a symphony of destruction.

“GRAAAAAAYO!” The Kaiju cried.

The Kaiju drew closer. Izuku could hear each step. Danger sense began to sound off in Izuku's head. Yet he stood his ground in the face of this threat.

“Kid, what the hell are you doing!” A civilian screamed.

“You'll get yourself killed!” Another civilian shouted.

“You can't beat that thing!” A third civilian yelled.

The Kaiju smashed through several buildings allowing Deku to get a good look at it. The Kaiju had a bipedal stance with legs that resembled a horse and arms that resembled a human's. The feet had hooves but strangely the “claws” on its hands were also hooves. Its skin was brown in color and its body was incredibly muscular with veins popping out of its arms. A layer of golden armor plates running from the top of its neck to the midway point of its tail. Several large golden horns were also sticking out of its back. Its head was large with two golden horns sticking out the back of its head facing outwards similar to a bull. The Kaiju’s mouth was large and lacked lips, resulting in the creature appearing to be always smiling. It had two small nostril holes at the end of its snout and it had no eyes.

Izuku stood in silence. Analyzing his opponent for any weaknesses. The first one that stood out was its lack of eyes. Another was its surprisingly small height for a Kaiju. It only appeared to be six meters in height.

“Alright I think I have an idea.” Izuku thought to himself.

“Kid get into the bunker!” A bunker guard shouted.

“Are all the civilians in the area underground?” Izuku replied.

“Yes but –”

“Then close the door.” Izuku said cutting the guard off.

“I can't in good conscience let you stay out here with this thing kid.” The guard shot back.

“It's fine. I can take this Kaiju.” Izuku said while getting into a battle stance.

“F-fine.” The guard stuttered out before closing the door to the bunker.

The Kaiju heard the door being closed and approached the area where the bunker was located, smashing through more buildings along the way. Izuku saw this and prepared his first attack.

“One For All, Air Force!” Izuku shouted in his mind. Izuku aimed his left arm at the Kaiju and unleashed several bursts and condensed air at the Kaiju, striking it in the head three times.

“GRAYYYOAH!” The Kaiju cried in surprise. It then charged in the direction of the attack. Izuku Swiftly dodged its charge which resulted in the Kaiju slamming itself into a building.

The creature stood back up wobbly. It was discombobulated by slamming itself headfirst into a building. Izuku used float to silently fly above the Kaiju.

“Alright I'm finishing this early.” Izuku thought to himself as he prepared his final strike.

“One For All full cowling 40%.” Izuku said to himself. One For All began to come to life, red lightning like patterns tattooing themselves all over his body. Izuku then launched himself at the Kaiju aiming for the back of its head.

“ST. LOUIS SMASH!” Izuku screamed. This caught the Kaiju's attention but it didn't have enough time to react. Izuku slammed his left leg right into the right temple of the Kaiju, sending it flying. The Kaiju was sent crashing through several buildings, leaving a heavy amount of dust and debris.

“Damn Ninth. I think you got ‘em.” En the sixth wielder of One For All said.

“Let's make sure.” Izuku replied while using float to travel down the makeshift path he just made with that Kaiju. Izuku slowly flew down the wreckage keeping his guard up just in case the Kaiju wasn't dead or unconscious. That's when he heard the Kaiju's distinctive growl.

“Gra-aaa-yoah.” The Kaiju croaked clearly in pain. It attempted to stand up only to immediately collapse. Izuku slowly approached the Kaiju. The Kaiju lashed out at him attempting to attack him only to miss and collapse again.

“Wow you really did a number on him Ninth.” Banjo, the fifth wielder of One For All said in shock.

“Finish it off.” Kudo, the second wielder of One For All said coldly.

Izuku charged up One For All again. Preparing to finish the Kaiju off. Izuku once again used float to position himself above the Kaiju as he prepared the finishing blow.

“PHILADELPHIA SHATTER!” Izuku cried. Diving down feet first like a missile aiming for the Kaiju's back. Izuku slammed into the Kaiju's spine at full force. The sound of the spine of the Kaiju crunching and cracking echoed through the air.

“GRYOOOOOOOOAH!” The Kaiju screamed before collapsing for the final time. Izuku leapt off the Kaiju's back. Izuku could hear it faintly breathing.

“It's still alive.” Bruce, the third wielder of One For All Said.

“I don't think it's getting back up anytime soon though.” Hikage, the fourth wielder of One For All replied to Bruce.

Izuku turned away from the unconscious Kaiju and made his way to the bunker's door. He then knocked on the door.

“Who’s out there?” A guard asked, voice slightly muffled by the large metal door.

“It’s me Deku.” Izuku replied.

“Deku? Wait, you're the kid that told us to close the door? You actually killed that Kaiju!?” The guard sounded incredulous.

“Not killed. I did knock it out cold though.” Izuku answered, surprised by the guard’s tone. Surely he had seen heroes, or at least something like them, in action before?

“We’ll wait here until the Defense Force arrives and fully neutralizes the Kaiju.” The guard replied.

“Defense Force?” Izuku asked himself. “Okay. Stay where you are for now.”

That's when the sound of multiple vehicles approaching began to echo through the air. Izuku turned to the direction of where the vehicles were approaching. After five minutes of waiting the vehicles came into view, Armored Personnel Carriers. The carriers made their way to the battle site, skidding to a halt a safe distance away. The back doors of the carriers swung open and dozens of soldiers leapt out the carriers and they swarmed the area, armed with guns and numerous other weapons. They spread out across the battlefield ready for a fight, only to find the Kaiju already down and out. Confusion slowly began to fill the air. One particular member of the defense force began walking forward to Izuku; it was a woman. She was a little shorter than himself, with a commanding presence that reminded him of some of the pro heroes he had met, with long black hair done up in a ponytail. The thing that stood out about her the most was her fiery orange eyes. They radiated a subtle calculated intensity. A massive grey haired tiger followed behind her and he wondered if she had some sort of animal control quirk. And then he started to wonder if this world even had quirks. Before he could go too far down that rabbit hole, she reached him.

“What are you doing outside of the bunker?” The woman asked, getting straight to the point. The tiger quietly growled at Izuku.

“I, uh. I was fighting the Kaiju, ma'am.” Izuku replied nervously.

You were fighting that Kaiju?” She seemed taken aback by his simple statement of fact.

“Yes.” Izuku replied, beginning to wonder if he’d done something wrong.

“Can I see your identification?” She asked.

“I don't really have a proper ID. But I do have this. ” Izuku said while pulling his provisional license out of his pocket. He handed it to the woman.

“2198? Meta Ability? Musutafu?” The woman looked up from his license, clearly skeptical.

“Hehe, yeah.” Izuku laughed nervously.

“What's with the outfit?” The woman asked.

“It's my hero costume.” Izuku answered

“Hero costume?” She questioned again.

“Okay, I know this sounds insane but I'm not from this world.” Izuku said to the woman not really expecting her to believe him. “I come from a place where heroes and super powers exist and a villain dragged me through a portal and, well. Left me here.”

The woman stared at him, silently, for several moments -- and finally sighed. “You know what, Izuku Midoriya? That’s not even the strangest thing I’ve heard this week.”

“I know it sounds -- wait. Really?” Izuku replied, more than a little startled himself now.

“Stay here, please.” The woman held up a hand and walked toward the bunker door, triggering the comm system hidden in the sturdy blast-resistant frame.

“Are you with the Defense Force?” The guard asked.

“Yes.” The woman answered.

The door unlocked and slowly opened. The guard at the door stepped out and faced the woman. He clearly recognized her, because he immediately straightened up and snapped the most proper salute Deku had ever seen.

“Captain Ashiro, all civilians have been accounted for in the bunker.” The guard stated, maintaining that incredibly correct posture.

“Ashiro?” Izuku thought to himself, taken off guard because of how similar her last name was to Ashido’s.

“At ease, officer. We'll send the civilian transportation vehicles as soon as possible.” Ashiro replied to the guard. “I do, however, have a question for you.”

“Of course, Captain.” The guard replied.

“Did that boy actually take down that Kaiju?” Ashiro asked, pointing to Izuku.

“I did not see the fight, Captain. But I did hear the sounds of a fight taking place above us. We all did. It sounded as though an entire Defense Force team was engaged.” The guard replied, steadfastly not looking at Izuku.

“I see.” Ashiro replied evenly. “Prepare the civilians for transportation to the emergency shelters.”

“Yes, Captain!” The guard somehow managed a second, even more enthusiastic salute, and hurried off to execute her orders.

Ashiro walked back to Izuku, her expression impossible to read.

Izuku immediately stiffened. He gulped nervously.

“Izuku Midoriya, I'm placing you into protective custody until we get to the bottom of this.” Ashiro informed him, expression still unreadable.

“I understand, Captain Ashiro.” Izuku said as his head slowly lowered.

“There's no need for you to be so formal.” Ashiro replied. “Now follow me. We’ll get you settled at a Defence Force facility and begin figuring things out.” Ashiro ordered while beginning to walk towards one of the APCs.

Izuku followed her until he reached the APC. He climbed inside of the vehicle and the doors were closed behind him. The sound of the engine starting went off and the APC began its journey to…what? A military base? An actual prison? He had no idea.

“What a fucking insane day.” Izuku thought to himself as the miles rumbled away beneath the APC’s tires.
