The Campaign (My first attempt at DMing)

Summary:

This is me and my friends playing DM while I made the world, map, and stuff. It's my first time, I now know the pain, I'm rethinking life decisions. I started to not record sessions, though, so I might just put them down yet they'll be less detailed. Also, this world is based on the book I'm making(For fun) that is coincidentally a FF on this. :)

Chapter 1: Session 1

Chapter Text

Today, a strange group of people who were unfamiliar with each other found themselves on a boat in the Sun’s sea. Not that it was ‘dangerous’, but that’s just what it was called.

The captain of the boat, Catherine, was finding herself in a weird situation as she looked out the front window and took a break from her mapping and navigation. She was paid to take a dragonborn to Nicromania, for some reason. She had no clue why the other three people were here.

A gem dragonborn, Pan, was practicing his martial arts as he waited for his arrival to the country of Nicromania.

Chrollo, a noble elf, was only here because he accidentally got loaded in a crate because it was comfortable and he fell asleep in it. Now, he was sleeping in an open crate on Catherine’s ship.

Joseph (Otherwise known as Joe), was there for reasons he wasn’t willing to share. He was talking to his fellow evil buddy, Silvett, telling her a bit about his backstory.

Silvett, a rogue wood elf, didn’t know why she was here. She just wanted to cause chaos and make her adventure eventful. She was listening.

All of a sudden, fog began to rise and water began to stir. A kraken’s tentacle wrapped around the ship, and it all took a horrible turn. They all get up (Besides Chrollo, who was still asleep.)

Joe immediately jumped to action and tried to strike it with his Javier. He fails and it slides across it.

The kraken retaliates by failing to attack Pan.

“Guys, oil, lantern, barrel!” Catherine shouts out from the back quarters.

Silvett obliges, and Joe tries to stop her, “Hey, the boat will be set on fire!” He argues.

Silvett just stares at him before pushing him out of the way and throwing the barrel of oil to the kraken with the lantern, and it successfully hits it.

The kraken retreats to the ocean, but the sudden large commotion makes huge waves, toadling the ship and it breaks apart. Each member climbs on a different piece of wood, besides Chrollo, who just woke up and didn’t care enough to save himself. Instead, Joe swims over with his wood piece and pulls Chrollo on with him.

After what seemed to be hours, they finally got washed to shore.

“Uhh, so, I’m Pan!” The dragon born announces after getting off the wood and on land.

The others awkwardly nod, not saying anything.

Silvett notices some rustling in the bushes, but keeps it to herself.

Pan notices that they’re in the Nehmo Forest, a muddy-swamp life mangrove area. A terrifying area that has a legend of People coming in, but never returning out.

“So, I’m Joe. Anyone else want to introduce themselves?” Joe says as he begins to make a fire and dry his clothes.

The others awkwardly introduce themselves, looking away from Joe. Chrollo just lays on the muddy ground of Nehmo forest, uncaringly.

Joe gets up and ties Silvett with his whip after she tries to put out her fire and just puts her beside the fire in the mud.

Catherine gets a paper

Joe speaks up, getting his now-dry clothes back on “So, what are you all good at?”

Catherine speaks up, “Making maps.”

“I’m good at getting invited to places, but sometimes they forget to give me the invitations.” Silvett answers.

“I’m good at magic, but it’s too much effort to actually do it.” Chrollo mentions, laying on the ground, his face in the mud.

Silvett begins gaslighting Joe, being a hilarious menace.

Pan goes over, about to cut the whip wrapped around Silvett. Joe stops him, “If you want to cut it, you pay me to do so.” He says, taking his rapier out.

“Uh, no?” Pan says, confused.

“Well then she isn’t getting untied.” Joe decides.

Silvett speaks up, “I’m not tied up, I have no clue what you’re talking about.”

“Can you all calm down? I’m trying to sleep.” Chrollo lazily complains, being ignored.

“Well, then you can’t untie her. She tried to put out the fire I made.”

After a bit of arguing for the next 10 seconds, Joe begrudgingly untied Silvett before going off and exploring the swampy mangrove. He notices a branch that seems slightly cracked off its tree. He decides to leave it be, just in case.
