Deceptive Salvation

Summary:

Danganronpa. Everyone you come across has seen at least an episode, watched an execution, bought merch... even those who don't remember it. It's reality tv, no one expected it to have the impact it did. No one expected the world to become obsessed with it. To thrive off of it.

And no one expected it to be one big scam.

Shuichi wakes up in a hospital after successfully bringing Danganronpa to an end. 2 out of his 15 friends were by his side. They didn't know what to expect of the outside world, but it was no where near what was forced upon them.

Can they trust this new predicament? Can they trust each other? No one's going to tell them, so once again, they're stuck fighting for the truth themselves.

DISCLAIMMMMMMERRRRRR !!!!!!!!!

 

Hi guys! Thanks so much in advance for choosing to read this! I've loved Danganronpa for YEARS but have never gotten around to successfully coming up with a fic idea until this. So I'm VERY excited !!

 

This disclaimer is just to let you readers know that, if you're more familiar with the localization version of v3, everyone might be a little out of character for you. I prefer the original version of the game, which the english localization team has overall failed to translate it to how it should've been.

 

The only differences you'll see is how some of the characters act. In the original game, characters such as Tenko, Gonta, Angie, Kaito, and Kokichi were created differently than how the english version portrays them as (there are some instances with other characters but from what i've seen these are the main ones).

 

I'm not going to get into too much detail, especially because these characters (+ the rest of the cast not mentioned) already act a bit differently than they usually would due to the circumstances they're in in this fic, but I still felt the need to warn just so theres no confusion.

 

If you'd like to read about any mistranslations, theres multiple resources that differentiate between the English and Japanese versions. Simply look up "v3 mistranslations" or any of the characters listed and you'll find various examples of what I'm referring to.

 

ALSOALSO I'm not 1000% sure of what I'm going to do with the characters (romantic) relationship wise, I'm aiming for hinted/suggested ships, but I don't think i'm going to make any specific ones canon.

 

This is for various reasons, but the main ones are so more people can read and wont be necessarily bothered by any ships they don't like, and also because I like pairing different characters together which would get in the way in the event that any ships ARE confirmed. I'm a multi shipper and can't write in every pair I like (obviously) so I feel like this is also a good replacement for that.

 

That pretty much sums up the disclaimer, just wanted to give everyone some pre-info before they got into it!

 

I plan for this to be a longer fic, whether it's just longer chapters or a lot of chapters, expect lots of writing.

 

P.S. Ill try to update as frequently as I can but the Ao3 curse HAS gotten me a few times so I'm gonna try my best to avoid it, pinky promise.
