Notes:

Hey y'all! sorry for deleting my other chaggie fanfic (parents made me delete it) Anyway, I bring to you a new and in my opinion better version, it's a bit different but still good. This story is my love letter to Charlie and Vaggie — two souls who’ve fought through Heaven and Hell just to hold onto each other.
It’s about scars, second chances, and the quiet strength that comes from being seen by the one who truly knows you.

If you love messy, emotional battles, fierce devotion, and sapphic softness after the storm — this one’s for you.

Thank you for reading 💖

Work Text:

Chapter 1 — Scars and Whispers

The Hazbin Hotel had never been so quiet.

Vaggie stood before the cracked mirror in their shared room, fingers tracing the jagged scar across her shoulder where her wing had once been. The phantom pain throbbed with every heartbeat. Sometimes she swore she could still feel the wind brushing against feathers that weren’t there.

Behind her, Charlie stirred. Her hair spilled like sunlight across the sheets, her glow faint, dimmed by months of exhaustion and the growing life inside her.

“You’re awake again,” Charlie said softly, voice trembling from morning sickness and half-slept dreams.

Vaggie turned, forcing a smile. “Didn’t mean to wake you.”

Charlie pushed herself up slowly, wincing, one hand resting on her swollen belly. “You never really sleep anymore.”

Vaggie crossed the room and knelt beside her, brushing a lock of hair from her face. “Neither do you.”

They lingered like that — quiet, close, the air heavy with love and fear.
Outside, Hell whispered. The Princess is pregnant. The Princess is weak. The Princess can’t even fight.

Charlie hid the cracks in her smile, but Vaggie saw through every one. She always had.

“You’re not weak,” Vaggie whispered. “You’re building a miracle in the middle of Hell.”

Charlie’s eyes shimmered. “Then why does it feel like I’m falling apart?”

Vaggie kissed her forehead gently. “Because you’re human enough to feel. And I love you for it.”

Chapter 2 — When Heaven Burns

The warning came with light — searing, blinding, cruel.

The sky split open as Heaven descended again. Gold spears rained from above, and the city screamed.

Lucifer appeared in the lobby first, his expression dark. “She’s here.”

Lute’s voice echoed like a hymn twisted into hatred. “The fallen whore and the weak Princess. This ends tonight.”

Beside her floated Lilith, her halo cracked, eyes sharp with cold amusement.

“Mother,” Charlie whispered, trembling.

Lilith smiled. “You’ve disappointed Heaven long enough, my dear. And you’ve made a mockery of your birthright.”

Vaggie stepped forward, blade drawn. “You’ll have to get through me.”

Lute laughed — harsh and cruel. “Gladly.”

She moved faster than light, wings flashing gold. Vaggie blocked her first strike, the impact sending her sprawling back. Their blades clashed again and again, sparks igniting across the hotel’s grand hall.

“You never should’ve crawled out of Heaven,” Lute hissed, slashing deep across Vaggie’s shoulder. Blood sprayed the marble.

Vaggie gritted her teeth and swung back, fury giving her strength. “You’ll have to kill me first!”

“That’s the idea.”

Lute drove her sword through Vaggie’s side. The fallen angel gasped — the blade glowing with holy energy, burning her from the inside out.

Charlie screamed. “VAGGIE!”

Lucifer lunged forward, flames wrapping around his cane. “ENOUGH!”

He struck Lilith aside, breaking her composure for the first time. “You dare lay hands on my daughter’s heart again?”

Lilith hissed. “You’ve already lost her to that fallen thing.”

Lucifer’s power surged, shaking the ground. “I lost my wife. I won’t lose my family.”

Fire burst outward, engulfing the golden light. The flames swallowed Lute’s scream whole — and when they faded, she was gone.

Lilith glared through the smoke, her halo flickering. “You’ll regret this.”

Lucifer’s eyes burned molten gold. “Not as much as you will.”

She vanished in a flash of divine light, leaving nothing but ruin and silence behind.

Chapter 3 — Fire and Blood

The battle had barely ended when Charlie collapsed.

Her screams echoed down the hall — not of fear this time, but pain. Real, raw, unstoppable pain.

Angel Dust rushed to her side, panicking. “Oh my god, she’s— she’s going into labor— NOW?!”

Husk grabbed towels, muttering curses under his breath. “We don’t have a doctor! We’ve got demons and trauma!”

Lucifer knelt beside his daughter, magic crackling in panic. “Hold on, little star—”

But Charlie’s light was flickering fast, her body trembling. Her magic sputtered uncontrollably, shattering glass and burning through curtains.

Vaggie dragged herself toward her, bleeding heavily from her side. “Charlie— I’m here. Look at me, baby. Look at me.”

Charlie’s breath came in gasps. “Vaggie— I can’t— I can’t do this—”

Vaggie cupped her face with trembling hands. “Yes, you can. You’re the strongest person I’ve ever known. I love you. Please— stay with me.”

Lucifer’s voice broke. “Her energy’s fading— the light’s draining too fast—”

Alastor’s grin faltered. “She’s dying.”

Vaggie’s tears hit Charlie’s cheek. “You can’t leave me. Not now. Not when we finally—”

Charlie’s eyes fluttered. “Vaggie… if I don’t make it—”

“Don’t you dare finish that sentence.”

Lucifer pressed his glowing palm to her chest. “No one dies tonight.”

Infernal fire met divine light — and for one breathtaking moment, the room filled with brilliance. It wasn’t Hell’s fire or Heaven’s glow. It was something in between.

And then — a cry.

A baby’s cry.

Charlie collapsed back, pale and trembling, as Lucifer placed a small, glowing child in her arms. The baby’s wings shimmered between gold and crimson, pure and warm and alive.

Vaggie sobbed, leaning against her. “She’s beautiful.”

Charlie smiled weakly, tears mixing with sweat. “She’s perfect.”

Lucifer’s voice was quiet, reverent. “A granddaughter. A miracle in Hell.”

Chapter 4 — Love in the Ruins

Weeks passed.
The wounds healed, but the scars stayed.

Vaggie’s nightmares came in waves — Lute’s voice, Lilith’s sneer, the moment Charlie’s light almost went out. But each time, Charlie was there — warm, steady, alive.

Charlie struggled too. Her body still weak, her confidence cracked by whispers of unworthiness. But when she held their daughter, the doubt melted away.

They found each other again in quiet moments — not through words, but through touches. Vaggie kissing the curve of Charlie’s shoulder; Charlie tracing the scar on Vaggie’s side like it was holy.

Lucifer visited often. Softer now. Changed. Sometimes he’d just sit and watch his granddaughter sleep, his hand trembling slightly when he reached for her.

One night, when the baby was asleep and the hotel finally quiet, Charlie lay in bed, head on Vaggie’s chest.

“I almost lost everything,” she whispered.

Vaggie kissed her hair. “You didn’t. We fought for it. Together.”

“Do you think they’ll come back?”

Vaggie smiled faintly. “Let them. I’m not afraid anymore.”

Charlie looked up, eyes shimmering gold. “You saved me.”

“You saved me first.”

They kissed — slow, soft, desperate in the way only survivors can be.

When they finally pulled apart, Vaggie whispered, “We made something they couldn’t destroy.”

Charlie smiled. “Hope?”

“Love.”

Outside, Hell still burned.
But in one small room of a battered hotel, there was warmth, laughter, and the soft sound of two hearts beating in sync.

The fire of Hell could not touch what they’d built together.

Hope in the ashes.
