Work Text:

The door to a small apartment pushes open to a dishevelled looking Ryujin who just came home(well it can barely be called a home) after a long day on a mission.

She stumbles her way to the bathroom, takes one look at the mirror and instantly regrets it. She hates the way that damn red tie looks on her neck, like it's slowly strangling her day by day mission after mission.

“This fucking sucks” she mouthed under her breath

.
.
.

Sayeon limps her way into an alleyway, the bruises that won't heal due to her lack of essence.

“Fuck. why did I do all of this, why did I act so impulsively, this wasn't part of the plan, why'd I…”

She sighed. “ What's done is done. I need help and there's only one person I know that won't mind the idea of this woman dead as much as me…” she thought to herself, the cuts on her leg still stinging like hell.

.
.
.

Ryujin hears a knock at the front door.

Who could possibly be at the door at this time?

She slowly gets up to check the door, the knocking seemed to get more urgent by the second. “Alright, alright, I'm here what-.” shouting at the person behind the door before quickly opening it.

There stood the taller woman, face covered in blood, dragging the…..

Blooded, lifeless body of the woman she'd hate most.

“WHAT THE FUCK.” Ryujin blurred, trying to close her mouth. “I swear I can explain, I just need somewhere to keep the body.”
Sayeon panted, her tone too calm for the situation she's in. “What are you doing, get in!?!?” The smaller girl whispered as quietly as she could.

They set the body down in the bathtub, the blood of the body leaving a noticeable trail from the front door to it. The two women sit beside each other, exhausted. “How the hell did you do this.” Ryujin shivered, before she's able to get an answer, Sayeon stood up and rushed to open the bathroom door.

“What the hell are you doing?!?!” Ryujin exclaimed as she tried to grab at Sayeon, “I-I need to get something, I. Just wait here.” The girl with the glasses vacillated. “What. You can't just leave a damn body here and say you have to go!”

Before she could get another word Sayeon was already out the door.

“Just. Please wait for me…” Glasses faltered.

So she waited, she always waited for Sayeon, every single fucking time. Why did it seem like every time Sayeon was in trouble she was there to save her, she hated that it made it look like she cared about her, she hated that she did care about her.

She stared at the body of that damn woman, she was dead, isn't that all she ever wanted for her to die, for all of them to die they had to pay the price of taking her family away. Right?

“Damn, did they really brainwash me that badly, have I really done the right thing?”

The door finally shook open after what felt like an eternity, carrying multiple bottles, Sayeon hurried over to Ryujin. “So you didn't leave me for the cops.” cheered mockingly. Sayeon looked over at her, “It would have been a waste of a… worthy comrade.” She said, still as confident as ever. Sayeon turns her head over to face the body in the bathtub as two lifeless eyes felt like they were staring at her.

“So, what's in the bottles?” Ryujin asked, her eyes darting towards the multiple plastic(?) bottles on her floor. “bleach and sulfuric acid. Don't touch that stuff.” Sayeon exclaimed calmly before tossing Ryujin a pair of gloves.

“What- how did you get your hands on this stuff???”

“I have… my ways”

“Dump the solution in the bath.” Sayeon adds as she uncaps a bottle and lets the acid drip into the bathtub, Ryujin follows after her. The two girls watch as the acid slowly dissolves the flesh and bones of the pale woman, Ryujin covers her nose as the smell of the flesh fills the room, she closes her eyes at the sight. Sayeon continues staring directly at the bathtub

After the body is completely dissolved, Sayeon opens a bottle of bleach and pour it into a plugged sink. “Take off your shirt.”
She asked, in the same monotoned voice. “Excuse me?” Ryujin spluttered.

“There's blood on your shirt” Sayeon clarifies before unbuttoning her own blood strained shirt. “Ah, right…” Ryujin hesitated as she handed Sayeon her blooded shirt, the cold air hitting her skin. Sayeon places the bloody shirt in the sink full of bleach, scrubbing them lightly before sitting down next to Ryujin. Their quietness filled the room.

“Ryujin, do you think I did the right thing?” Sayeon asked, breaking the silence of the room. The question goes unanswered for a while, as the room grows quieter, the tension between them breaks as Ryujin speaks up.

“...Well that's subjective isn't it?... i wouldn't say that you did the ‘right thing.’”

“I mean is this really the best option, violence to fight violence, in that way are we really any better than them?” Ryujin added.

Sayeon stares at Ryujin, her eyes trembling “Me? Not doing the right thing? No, no, no. That couldn't possibly be true, isn't this what you wanted? How could you say something like that?” she thought to herself, even the slightest the idea of her being in the wrong? Impossible.

“How. How could you say that after everything they've done to you?” Sayeon fretted, her voice trembling, she slowly leaned towards Ryujin, placing her own hands on her shoulders. They now sit face to face, Ryujin refuses to look her in the eye.

“Just tell me I did the right thing…” Sayeon whimpered, leaning closer towards the girl in front of her,

“Damnit, this really sucks, I don't have enough essence to heal my bruises let alone rewind, I really messed up this time, I don't want to face her but I have nowhere else to look” the words in Sayeon's mind seem to mingle, she can't even focus on everything that's happened.

“There's bruises and cuts on your arm…” Ryujin comments, filling the room with sound once more after the long pause. Sayeon looked down at her own arm “ah, right, those” she'd replied, it seems she was too distracted to notice. Ryujin stood up and opened the cabinet behind the mirror to reveal a small first aid kit and some bandaids.

“Why would an aberrant need a med kit?” Sayeon remarked.

“Same reason you need one right now”

“ Why would you purposely refuse medical care?”

“To avoid, um, you know…” Ryujin points to the bathtub with her eyes before doting back to wrapping Sayeon's arm in bandages. “And stay still, I can't patch you up like this!” she added. “But you still went to check on me when I was in the infirmary?” Sayeon responded.

“That- it's just a coincidence she wasn't there at the time…”

Sayeon grinned to herself, Ryujin didn't say it out loud but she knew that she cared, and it felt nice.

Really nice.
