Chapter Text
My dear readers — and those who wish to become one,
It’s been more than six years since I finalized the second installment of this series. Over the course of these years, and through a long pandemic, I reread my story over and over again and found more and more typos and grammatical errors along the way.
While recognizing these errors, I was inspired many times to add additional scenes, more dialogue, and even new chapters. Over time, the idea grew in me — why not include them in the already existing story? I discussed the idea many times with my muse and good friend, but ultimately, life always got in the way.
But now I’ve pulled the trigger and I’m finally doing it. This is a heads-up announcement that both main stories and the Deleted Scenes stories will receive a full remaster. This will include:
-
(Hopefully) error-free grammar and refined wording
-
Additional scenes and dialogue
-
Additional chapters
-
The inclusion of chapter-specific artworks in 4K to enrich the reading experience for each chapter
What won’t change:
There will be no changes to the storyline, characters, scene composition, or the meaning of the dialogues. Everything that already happens in the original story will also be part of the remaster, and none of the dialogues or character interactions will be altered.
This post will serve as an update hub, since AO3 does not send notifications when a story is updated — though it does when new chapters are added. I plan to update in chunks of 5–10 chapters at a time, starting with the first five original chapters of And the Birds Sing No More (along with a newly added Chapter 0, visible through the updated chapter names), and the first two chapters of Chirping of the Birds today.
I will keep adding chapters to this hub story until the remaster project is complete, for convenience reasons — so you can receive update notifications through this post, and then delete it once the project is finished.
I hope to see some of you around during this update journey.
