When the red alert ends, Pike grins at Spock. “Laundry department messed up again?”
Spock glances down. “Ah. Yes, they seem to have given me a uniform belonging to a command officer.”
Pike chuckles. “At least your rank stripes are correct. Last time it happened to me, I got double demoted for a week.” He touches Spock’s shoulder. “But gold looks good on you. If you’re ever interested in command…”
“Thank you, captain, but I am quite satisfied with my current position.”
Pike shrugs. “The offer’s always open.” Then he spots James Kirk walking past him in blue. “I guess we know what happened to your clothes.”
Spock turns to look at James. “Indeed.”
“Make sure you swap before he heads back to Farragut,” Pike advises. “Otherwise, our inventory is going to be off.”
Just then, Sam Kirk steps onto the bridge. the turbolift doors open. He frowns slightly when he sees Spock. Then he spots his brother and his eyes widen. “No...” His gaze darts rapidly between the two as he pinches the back of his hand. “Wake up, wake up, wake up.”
“Sam?” Pike asks, concerned.
He backs into the turbolift, shaking his head. “This can’t be happening.”
