Chapter Text
"First day of high school. Are you ready?"
Seonghyeon had already looked over Keonho's fit, fixing the way the shirt tucked in oddly or using his thumb to wipe away a stray lash that landed on below his eye. Keonho blinked at him, smiling nonetheless. He was used to this. "Hey, you didn't let me make a wish."
Pretending to huff, Seonghyeon flicked Keonho's forehead gently. The younger giggled. "Don't get in trouble today."
Keonho pouted a little. "I'm not, c'mon."
Smiling, Seonghyeon gave Keonho's head a brief pat, knowing not to mess up his hair. "Okay. First day pics?"
Grinning, Keonho gestured to their room (which was admittedly a bit too small now for the both of them, but they were too stubborn to ever bring this fact up). "One step ahead of you." He briefly left to grab his polaroid camera. "I told you already, I come prepared for this sort of thing." Rolling his eyes half-heartedly, Seonghyeon posed. "Take a pic."
Doing so, Keonho's face scrunched cutely as he focused, sticking out his tongue. "You look handsome."
"Thanks. Now hurry, you need pics too." Seonghyeon takes the camera from Keonho and snaps a few pics, requesting specific poses that Keonho pulls off very well. "Awesome," he complimented, making the younger smile all brightly with pride. Seonghyeon hands the camera back, then pulls out his phone. Keonho looks at him, a little confused.
"What? I need pics on my phone too."
"Oh. Okay." Keonho poses, then breaks into another smile, clearly thinking to himself. "You must be really into this."
"Shut up." He was a doting brother at times, sue him.
Seonghyeon did a thumbs up. "Alright, all good. We're set."
"Send those to me, okay?" Keonho grabs another snack from a nearby cabinet, momentarily no longer interested in Seonghyeon's actions. Like a distracted puppy. The eldest sends the photos, reviewing them over again. He smiles to himself. Keonho is a natural born star, all bright and effortlessly charming. Even when he was a brat. Seonghyeon picked up the backpack Keonho had slung over the couch. "Hey, genius, don't forget this." He pushes the backpack to Keonho, then decides to put it on his little brother himself. "Okay. We need to leave soon. Do you have everything?"
Nodding, Keonho gives a confident, silly grin. Seonghyeon briefly returns the smile, collecting his own backpack.
"Have your books?"
"Yup."
"Lunch?"
"Yup."
"Did you bring plenty of pencils this time?"
Rolling his eyes, Keonho snorted out a laugh. "Hyung, you're doing too much again."
"Alright. Let's go."
He has to nearly chase after Keonho's ridiculous skipping to the bus stop, grabbing onto his backpack to keep up. Keonho giggles the whole time, like a kid, not a new young adult going into high school. But oh well. He's lucky he's cute.
As Keonho yaps about whatever as they wait, Seonghyeon admires the photos they took earlier. This was going to be a great year, a fresh start. He could feel it.
