Summary:

Set during Seven Kings must die.
AU and not canon compliant, but spoiler for the beginning of Seven Kings must die.
It’s set at some random point in the movie, but what happens is totally my creation.

Chapter 1: On the road to Bebbanburg

Osferth found it hard to reconcile the boy he had watched grow up in Rumcofa, with what he had heard about the young man Æthelstan had become. After a sequence of terrifying news, he decided to reach Lord Uhtred to discover the truth.

So he was heading to Bebbanburg, leaving Winchester, where he had lived in retirement after never completely recovering from the wounds that almost killed him in the attack on Rumcofa.

After some days of walking, he encountered a small army, and recognized a friendly face: Lord Aldhelm. He too was looking for Uhtred, so Osferth joined him.
