Chapter 1: The zora armour

Chapter Text

Zelda sat on mipha’s bed situated beside east reservoir lake. The shining sun reflected on the water creating a warm, bright atmosphere that both Zelda and mipha enjoyed simultaneously. Zelda watched as mipha fixed the individually crafted scales onto the suit of armour she said was made for link. Zelda didn’t mind link, he was an OK boy who was set on following her everywhere. She wanted to do things herself, to be independent for once. Maybe that’s why she enjoyed mipha’s company so much. Her father trusted the zoras and their domain enough to let her wander around this area without her bothersome knight beside her at all times.

Zelda pushed herself off mipha’s bed and walked over to mipha who was still occupied with that suit.
“How long will that take you?” Zelda asked almost impatiently.
“I’m not sure, it takes a different amount of time for each zora.” Zelda frowned looking at the garb in mipha’s hands once more being reminded again and again about that annoying knight. Why was everyone obsessed with him? All he did was follow Zelda around and catch butterflies. Zelda couldn’t stand him but of course she didn’t hate him. It was never about him personally at all, it was about how jealous she was of him for taking mipha’s attention. Taking the attention of the girl she didn’t know she loved.

Zelda glanced over one last time looking at the garment in silence as mipha continued on with making it. Zelda imagined herself wearing the suit and as she looked closer she almost imagined it was tailor fit to her, the chest being tailored to her size, the length being perfectly matched to her height, even the colour of the scales complemented her complexion. What Zelda hadn’t noticed yet is that she wasn’t imagining. The suit was tailored to her body. Not links. Mipha was in fact making it for Zelda.
