Work Text:
An sat at the edge of her bed, watching out through her window for any signs of movement. She had to make sure not to be seen by any of her neighbors, but as the dark hours ticked away she began to worry that she would be spending the night alone.
Just as she prepared to close the curtains, Kohane slipped through the window in a blur, her white nightgown flowing out as she landed in front of An.
“I thought you wouldn’t make it,” An whispered. “Is everything okay?”
“Sorry for taking so long, it wasn’t as cloudy as I thought so I had to be more careful. One day, maybe we won’t have to be so secret, when I have better control of my urges.”
“I’m worried there won’t be a one day! It scares me when you talk about how you feel when you haven’t fed.”
“Don’t worry, An, I would never do anything dangerous. I know I have to keep myself healthy, if not for my sake then for yours.” Her own hands wrapped around An’s waist. The moonlight streaming from the window illuminated her features, and this made her look equally delectable and beautiful. Want, Kohane decided, was somewhere between the two.
“Kohane…” An sighed, heart sinking at her soft, reassuring smile. “Why do things have to be this way?”
“As much as it hurts being away from you” Kohane leaned closer into An’s chest. “I’m glad that we can still share these moments.”
“Aren’t you scared though? I mean, if anyone found out, then-”
Kohane cut her off with a kiss to her collarbone, just barely exposed under the cut of her nightshirt. “It is scary.” She looked up, locking eyes. “But as long as I can hold you like this, It’s worth it.”
