Work Text:
It was a day like any other in the office. “Well maybe you should have looked at our prices before coming then!”
Well almost like any other.
“Stolas,” Blitz treaded carefully “Are you um. Doing alright?”
Stolas looked over at him sharply, “I’m fine.” before returning to the paperwork in front of him.
“Are you sure you’re fine? Stols?” Blitz tried the old pet name.
“I’m fine.” Stolas said, a little sharper this time.
Blitz looked off to the side, a duffle bag hidden in a corner behind the desk gave him an idea, perhaps it’s time for a little break? Blitz wrapped his tail around the worn bag, lifting it and bringing it behind him. Blitz cleared his throat and said “Stolas. We need to talk, my office.”
Moxie and Millie seemed to notice first, glancing at the bag before laughing at their own inside joke. Loona looked up from her phone, before nodding in silent agreement and returning to her Sinstigram.
Blitz marched over and held the door open. The owl's eyes seemed to widen before he silently deflated and walked into the back.
“I’m sorry if I haven’t been up to standards recently.”
Blitz has since put the bag down when he turns to stolas and says “Punch me.”
“What?” Stolas squawks out confused.
“I know you heard me, Stols.” Blitz half teases while leaning against the wall, bag right next to him.
“Blitz, I am not going to punch you.” Stolas says.
Blitz uses his tail to open the bag up, arms crossed and legs apart he says “As your boss I order you to punch me.”
Stolas barely taps his shoulder.
“Come on, you’ve hit me harder in the bedroom.” Blitz teases.
Stolas hits him in the chest.
Blitz pulls on the training pad boxing gloves from in the box. “Good, keep going.”
Stolas goes to punch him in the chest again, but he’s hitting glove before he even realizes. Blitz starts to move them to where they have more space, one small punch at a time.
“Harder” Blitz calls. Stolas punches again
“Come on, harder!” Blitz yells
“Come on! Let it out!” Blitz screams, stepping toward Stolas as he punches again.
“I said, Let it out!” Blitz screams in his face.
Stolas screams “I hate her!” he screams as throws the punch with everything left in him.
“There it is!” Blitz yells back joy radiating off his face.
Stolas looks away, grabbing his shoulders in a pitiful attempt to hug himself.
“Hey,” Blitz opens his arms, walking towards him and hugging his legs, “you gonna tell me what's wrong?”
Stolas, puts one arm around Blitz “Just had some realizations recently… I think today would’ve been my anniversary….”
“Stols.” Blitz whispers mournfully.
“And I think this is the second happiest anniversary I’ve ever had.” Stolas states.
“Hu- Yeah?” Blitz tries to hide his confusion.
“Yes, no ridiculous “not divorced yet” party at least.” Stolas says.
“There’s still enough time for that to change.” Blitz teases
“OH, Satan, NO!” Stolas playfully pushes his shoulder
Blitz laughs, “noted.”
They stay like that for a bit, hugging before Blitz interrupts the silence “So, do you need to deal with some more “I’m fine”-nes or are you actually good?”
“I think I’d like to do some more punching… if you’re okay with that Blitz?” Stolas hesitates.
“Fine by me.” Blitz smile, gloves back on and a few feet away now.
They continue on for at least another half hour and when they finally come out of the backroom, Loona looks up and says “Welcome to the team Stolas.”
