Work Text:
Both of the boys met after school had ended, both of them walking side by side in the hallway, keeping their hands at their sides.
(even if one of them desperately wanted to hold the others.)
The blonde hadn't even noticed the blue haired boy stop, until he turned his head from a few feet away to see him looking at the public bulletin board with all of the schools information, or clubs.
Once the blonde had walked back over to his secret lover, they both started talking.
"Why do you even look at that thing?" Travis said, for personal reasons he despised that putrid board, a bunch of useless activities that were boring and a waste of time to him.
"There's always cool stuff on here, what's there not to look at?" he replied, not in a rude way though, more like trying to lighten the mood.
The blonde only scoffed, crossing his arms and leaning against the wall next to the wooden board.
"It's just weird to.." the blonde mumbled.
"Weird doesn't Nessesarily mean bad, right?" the other boy asked.
"Ehh.. I guess.. But it doesn't mean it's good either." the blonde voiced.
"Depends." the bluenette softly muttered, reading about the new tryouts for sports, and other clubs.
"Yeah, I guess, Sally face." the blonde turned his reddened face away from the other, once he got his look together and shook off the slight smile pulling at the side of his lips, he quickly stood up straight and put his hands in his pockets.
"Sal, we can't stay for long y'know." he softly but nervously said, not wanting to come off as rude.
"Okay, okay~ I'm ready anyway." sal quickly started walking, pulling travis with him.
"Sal- sal.." the blonde whispered, trying to remind him about the 'public affection rule'. They still couldn't show both of their affection in public, sal's friends not being exactly 'fond' of Travis, and Travis' dad being completely against homosexuality. So sal quickly let go, slowing his walking to reassure the other boy, knowing he could get overwhelmed easily. "Whoa- I'm sorry, sorry- i- It's okay trav, no ones here to see."
"No- I'm sorry- I want it too.. it's just.." The blonde mumbled, Feeling like an asshole now. But the bluenette quickly reasurred him again, "no, it's okay trav, it's not your fault." he said as he smiled behind his sticker and marker decorated prosthetic mask.
"Come on let's go, we don't want to make your dad upset." and with that, both of them started to walk home.
Making it out of the school doors and onto the side-walk, they both decided they wanted to walk that day. Well, one of them asked the other to walk that day.

Once they made it near the blonde boys house, and sal was just about to leave, travis stopped him quickly. "Sal! Sal, wait." he yelled awkwardly.
"Huh? What is it trav?" the bluenette turned around, Facing his lover.
Travis nervously and hesitantly stepped closer to sal, looking away, before opening and reaching into his somewhat worn backpack.
Opening a small bag, and pulling out beautiful baby-blue cornflowers, they're a little worn down, and a little Scruffied. But the bluenette didn't care one bit.
"These- ahem.. These are for you, sal."
Nothing but silence for a few minutes followed, as the bluenette was trying to process everything, how could you blame him? Travis Phelps, 'the homophobic bully, church boy' of the school, had just offered him flowers.
"I know they aren't the best looking, and they- i- s- sorry it's not.. As good as any other, they're nothing really, but.. I.." the blonde stammered as he looked away, his face already burning hot lava.
He couldn't take the silence anymore, he extended his arm to his secret lover. "Just- fuck- just take them please, this is already embarrassing enough."
he muttered before his movements was interrupted by a warm embrace, immediately he looked down to see his.. Boyfriend with his arms wrapped around his waist.
"I love them trav.. Thank you." sal muttered into his chest, rocking them side to side.
"It's nothing special sal."
"So? Anything from you is awesome travis, even literal garbage." the bluenette joked as he held him.
The blonde couldn't help but crack a small smile, even though he didn't want to.
"Thanks.. Sally."
"Is anyone around?" the bluenette asked, making the blonde check and look around to see if anyone was looking, he shook his head.
When he got note that no one was watching. Sal hesitantly unbuckled his mask, showing his mangled face that travis was secretly obsessed with, he got on his tippy toes and pressed a slight kiss to the others cheek.
"Thank you trav. I wouldn't have expected this from you, I'm so fucking proud of you." sal spoke softly, as he smiled with the rest of his lip.
The blonde couldn't even say anything if he wanted, he was still stuck on the kiss, now he was telling him he was proud of him?
His face immediately burned up, and his stomach started to feel funny, like nauseous, and he instinctively gripped his cross.
"I- I.. Y- you're- uhm.. You’re welcome sal." he stammered.
"Was that okay? To kiss you?" sal asked, sort of worried if he has made his secret lover uncomfortable or 'broke' him.
"No! No—I loved it! I love.. I..” he trailed off, still not able to say those three words fully, as the nausea became worse.
“I do too Travis, don’t worry.. it’s okay if you’re still finding time to say it. Take all the time you need.” Sal smiled once more, before clipping his mask back on, sighing and feeling more content.
“Holy shit, it feels like torture every-time I take my mask off, .. but it’s worth it.” He chuckled, before taking the flowers, before waving goodbye to the blonde.
“See you tomorrow trav, and thanks again! I’ll text you!” He said, before walking backwards to still face his stammered boyfriend, for just a few short moments before turning around.
“Bye.. Sal..” Travis spoke softly, his voice barely even coming out.
He zipped his bag back up, his eyes lingering on sals empty spot, before walking to go into his house.
“Jesus please help me, it’s way too much.” He muttered, still gripping his cross before going inside.
