Chapter Text

As soon as Alucard thought he had found people who cared for him, they had betrayed him. Every. Single. Time. Would he ever be loved?
He was currently curled up on the floor of his childhood bedroom, sobbing to himself, as no-one was there to listen; only the bodies of those whom he thought had loved him, sprawled out on the floor, blood staining the floorboards beneath.

A knock, just one, impossible to hear from Alucard's current position in his bedroom, between how vast the castle was, and how much Alucard was crying, it might as well have just been the wind.
Another knock, more powerful this time. Followed by a "Alucard you sulky bastard, open the fucking door!"
Alucard's sensitive ears twitched, being half-vampire *did* come with advantages, great hearing being one of them. A sniffle, then a quiet, "Oh, God, now I'm hearing things..." before returning to his sobbing.

Meanwhile, just outside of the castle, Trevor and Sypha sat contemplating what to do.
"Do you think he's still in here?" Sypha conjectured.
"Where else would he be? It's not like the idiot has anywhere better to be, after the whole killing his dad thing, he's got no family." Trevor replied, voice gruff and tired, as usual
"Trevor! He's our friend! Be nice."
"It's not like he's bloody here to hear anything anyway, is it? Damn vampire never there when you need him," Trevor retorted
Sypha just sighed, "whatever, we just need to figure out how to get into his castle, since he's not answering."
Trevor got up from his sitting position with a huff, walking closer towards the door to Alucard's castle. A rough tug at the handles and the door gave way, creaking open with a soft 'thud' sound, "Huh," he laughed to himself, "it was open."
Sypha's eyes widened, quickly rising to her feet, meeting Trevor at the door, "So it was, I was thinking maybe I'd have to use my magic to get in... I wonder why it was left open?"
"Don't know, don't want to know," Trevor was already inside by the time Sypha had finished her sentence.
Trevor cupped his hands around his mouth, enhancing the volume of his speech, "Yo, Alucard! You here?"

A quiet gasp left Alucard's mouth, "No, Adrian, don't be silly...They left you, you're imaging things..." But a slight glimmer of hope lead to tears being wiped and footsteps running down stairs.
He caught sight of Belmont and Belnades from the staircase, they were real....Were they?
"What brings you here?" His voice tembled ever so slighttly, and his cheeks were still damp, but he tried his best to attain his usual sarcastic demeanor.
