Work Text:

“This is without question the best day of my life,” Charlie groaned, shoveling a handful of truffle fries in his mouth. Lorenzo’s lips twitched at the sound.

“Really? Not even our trip to Italy, or the first time I…” Before Lorenzo could get too explicit, Charlie cut him off by popping a fry through his lips. They were probably among the best he’d had, despite them having too much garlic for his personal taste.

Since it was October, he was able to find some activities that stretched past sunset he could do with Charlie. Today it just so happened to be a fair, and with all the cider, kettle corn and fried dough (minus the cinnamon, thanks), it turned out to be quite the delicious date.

Not to mention all the other couples, both human and supe, that dotted the fairgrounds. Everywhere they looked, people were holding hands, stealing glances or straight-up tonguing.

“Oh, there’s one thing we have to do before we go!” Charlie took hold of Lorenzo’s arm and they weaved between picnic tables and ride queues, eventually slowing near the vendor area.

“Haven’t we spent enough money?” Lorenzo raised an eyebrow as they moved past each stall.

“It’ll be a souvenir!”

Eventually, they stopped in front of a man who was scribbling away on a piece of paper- it was probably easy for him, given his multiple arms. Charlie excitedly handed over some bills to the artist and sat down on the bench positioned ahead of his easel.

“You coming?” Charlie asked.

Lorenzo followed, squishing next to him.

As the artist drew with fantastical speed, Charlie leaned his head on Lorenzo’s shoulder. He hoped everyone there knew, could see this sign of their love, their bond. He liked the idea of being immortalized in art like that.
