Work Text:
“we’re MARRIED,” izuku all but swooned, leaning heavily onto his angry blonde husband like an affectionate cat.
"no shit sherlock."
"but can you believe it?” the green haired man gushed, undeterred by his husband’s lack of enthusiasm to the fact. “married! you’re my husband!"
"have been for the last 7 years, dumbass. i would hope you believed it,” katsuki grumbled as he rolled his eyes at his absolute dork of a husband’s blatant mooning, those green eyes practically heart shaped at that point.
“are you drunk?” hitoshi asked with an eyebrow raised teasingly from where he set next to his own husband across the coffee table and izuku gasped with faux offense.
“i do not need to be drunk to love on my husband!” he scoffed all huffily, ignoring the groan that elicited from katsuki as well as hitoshi and denki’s snickering. he looked as though he was loading up a mental essay on why his husband is the best husband in the world when his sleep deprived dad entered the room, effectively interrupting that train of thought and shifting his attention onto pestering him instead.
"DAD. DAD. DAD. DAD-" izuku bounced over to where shouta had flopped onto the loveseat next to the couch akin to a particularly depressed, dying starfish and all but drape himself over shouta’s back like a human imitation of his capture scarf.
"what,” the man grunted, not quite awake enough to entertain his son’s radiating energy.
"i’m MARRIED!" izuku’s ex-teacher-turned-father-figure choked on his spit at that, eyes flying open and immediately more awake at the admission.
"a-again?!" the man sputtered, eyes wide and his face pale looking almost comically panicked and traumatized.
"the fuck does that mean, old man?” katsuki scoffed, sounding offended. “he’s still married to me. the only reason he’ll get married again is because he’d marry me twice."
"oh thank god. once for each was enough,” the underground hero breathed out like a deflated ballon. he looked so genuinely relieved as though the mere thought of going through marrying off izuku again set off ptsd flashbacks. the boy in question pouted at his dad’s reaction.
"stop giving your dad heart attacks," hizashi muses, emerging from the kitchen with a plate of freshly baked brownies, though he was unable to keep the amusement out of his voice.
izuku lit up at the sound of his other dad by proxy. "but look! look, papa! I'm married!" he beamed, showing off his wedding band on his right ring finger. leave it to present mic to match the energy of the human embodiment if a hyperactive puppy.
"you are!" hizashi cheered, making a show of gushing over izuku’s ring as if he hadn’t helped katsuki pick it out himself.
"maybe you should divorce him so you can marry him all over again," denki muses jokingly from where he was watching the entire interaction from his perch on the couch beside hitoshi. katsuki saw that stupid glint in izuku’s eyes, before his brother in law realizes his mistake.
”izu, i was joking-“ denki started the moment he caught those red eyes glaring daggers at him but it was too late-
"OH MY GOD-" izuku gasped at the dawning realization, his eyes sprouting stars from the sheer excitement at the idea.
"IZUKU NO-" both katsuki and shouta yelled at the same time with varying degrees of exasperation and horror respectively.
"IZUKU YES!!” izuku squealed out together with hizashi.
