Work Text:
Nishiguchi was working her daily shift at hitotoki pizza, everything was going good, as usual.
Her brother’s being annoying but kind of helpful, her father managing the place, and customers happily eating their pizza’s.
There was no one else coming into the store at this time, so she could relax for a bit, stretch her legs, go for a walk maybe.
ring!
Or maybe not.
With a sigh she walked over to the counter, face to face with a brown haired individual. He had on a beige coat, with a black turtleneck. He looked to be about five years older than her at least.
“What do you want?” She said, trying her best to get this conversation over with, she felt extremely more tired than she did any other day of the week.
“I’m here to pick up an order for.. Yuto? I assume you already know which one, you seem quite experienced.”
“Yea, yea. Don’t flatter me.” Confused by the weird nice talk, she walked to the back, argued with her brothers about the order for the thousandth time, and brought it out.
“Alright. Pay up, take your pizza, and get out.”
“Well, that’s awfully forward. I just wanted to get to know you while i eat.”
…
“You ordered to-go dude.”
“Did i? I must have pressed the wrong button.” He responded calmly, not moving an inch from where he stood.
Is this guy serious right now? Is he just trying to piss her off on purpose? Because if he is, it’s working.
“What are you trying to accomplish here? It’s simple, you pay me, you take the pizza, and go.”
It didn’t seem like he was giving up too easily.
“I’m being rather kind here, am i not? You’re treating me like i’m a rat that crawled into your pizza place looking to steal. I might have to rate this service one star if you don’t change the attitude.” He snarked.
Okay, this guy needed to leave. Now.
“I don’t care! Just pay so i can go on my damn break!” Raising her voice to a yell, Nishiguchi furrowed her eyebrows at the man in beige.
He took a quick glance to the side and smiled.
“That guy’s destroying your property by the way.”
“Wha- Who-?!” She quickly whipped her head to where he once looked.
She fell for the stupidest shit ever, because after she turned her head, the guy sprinted out of the place with his unpaid order, making her wide awake.
“HEY! What the fuck?! Get back here you—!” Nishiguchi quickly ran out from behind the counter and out the front doors, yelling to her brothers in the process.
“Keiji! Take care of the front. I need to ram this fucking asshole!”
“No? What- Mutsuko!” He replied, but she didn’t hear him as the front doors hanging bell rung out through her ears, and the loud taps of her boots hit the pavement that lay outside.
Her eyes locked onto the guy running ahead like a hawk, and fastened her pace, not focusing on how much work she was putting into her legs in the heat of moment.
Multiple cars had rushed to pull over, as the guy ran through walk ways and alleys. People gasped and chattered, taking their phones out and whispering. Some yelled encouragement at Nishiguchi to take the guy down and not let him get away, some tried to stop him, which had failed as well.
One specific vehicle during the chaos caught her eye though, as it almost hit the vigilante, which she wished it did. Would have saved her the trouble.
He ran onto the road once again, but braced for impact as the speeding force of a dekochari bike almost crashed straight into him, one of the decorations flying off in the mess of the road.
The short heighted person took off their helmet, revealing the anger fueled face of a blonde girl with pink, and blue faded pigtails. A cat clip on the left side of her face too. Weirdly cute for a biker.
“WATCH IT DUMBASS! God!” The girl shouted, tossing her helmet to the ground and looking for the missing piece of her decorated bike.
The thief didn’t seem to care and just kept running until he was out of sight, making Nishiguchi stop next to the crouched down biker, breathing hardly. She ran too much, she was out of breath, it was useless to try and catch up with the bastard now.
The shorter girl took notice after reclaiming the trinket. “Who the fuck is he? You know that guy?” She asked, still irritated by the sudden encounter.
Nishiguchi took a moment to breathe in all of the air she could, and looked down at her.
“I know.. that he’s a damn scammer. He didn’t pay for that. I work my ass off for, what, hours?, and this is what i get myself into?! God damn it!” Yelling, she kicked a lone rock off the sidewalk, far off into the vast roads up ahead.
“And…you ran all the way over from, i’m guessing Hitotoki Pizza, to here? To chase after him?” The girl questioned.
“Yeah.”
The biker seemed impressed, like it’s something she’s never witnessed before. Well, it’s not everyday you have to chase somebody down the streets just to get a damn pizza back and your well deserved pay.
“Kind of cool. I’m surprisingly invested now. I can help you catch up to him, i know these streets like the back of my hand.” She said, before adding, “I want something in return though, i don’t do wild shit like this for free, you know that right?”
Nishiguchi didn’t expect the offer, but had the urge to nail this guy back into his place. Nobody messes with her family, or her.
“Alright, fine. What do you even want anyway?”
“Free pizza. I’m going to be hungry later after this.”
“Whatever. You got a deal.” It was a simple offer, atleast she didn’t ask for money or drugs.
“Cool, get on.” The girl said, walking back to her bike and taking the helmet off the ground.
“I feel like i’m supposed to be at the front in this type of situation.”
“Too bad.” Putting her helmet on, she started up the bike, while Nishiguchi got onto the back, putting her hands firmly onto the girls shoulders for whatever may happen next.
Nishiguchi didn’t get to fully inhale and exhale again before getting sent full speed across the streets. People, buildings, and trees all turning into a blur as they rode down across alleys and hidden corners all around.
The biker girl wasn’t too focused on her surroundings or whatever she knocked over, so lots of people’s yells and complaints were also heard from the tips of Nishiguchi’s ears.
One guy with long, pink hair was putting up a sign in-front of a cafe, which the girl soon knocked over too. The only thing being audible was a groan and a slight mumbling of “I hate my damn job.” Poor guy.
Soon, they spotted the guy rushing towards the back end of an alley, clearly he had no where else to go.
“There he is.” Nishiguchi stated.
“Fucking idiot, that alley is a dead end. We’ve got him red handed. Heh.” She snickered before sharply turning into the dark alley.
The girl parked her bike, letting Nishiguchi take a second.
“I’m going to kill this guy.”
“I’d pay to see it.”
The two ran down further into the alley, soon spotting the guy at the end mumbling to himself.
“Shit, shit… Why can’t they just give up..!”
Was he genuinely stupid?
“Hey, Jackass.”
“Wh—“ The guy doesn’t get to finish as Nishiguchi’s fist connects to his face, making him drop hard onto the cold alley way concrete, spits of blood splattering from his mouth.
“AGHK-!” The guy screamed, covering the side of his face to hide the bruise.
“I’ll be taking that back until you pay like a man. You’re lucky i didn’t decide to ram you with my truck.” She said, snatching the pizza box from his twitching hands.
The biker girl walks up to him, now wielding a metal blue bat. “This is for making my decor fly off, you dick!” She angrily yelled, smashing the bat down onto the guys leg. The strike making him wince and yell at the cold touch of the bat, and the now occurring pain in his right leg.
They both leave the alley after watching the guy be forced to apologize and never come back to Hitotoki, and scurry away.
“I never caught your name.” Nishiguchi finally said, after their long period of silence during the walk back to Hitotoki.
“Kumada Erina. What about you, *Chef?*” She asked, teasing the other with the stupid nickname.
“Pfft. Don’t call me that. It’s Nishiguchi Mutsuko.”
“Cool. Want to share that free pizza? I’m starving like crazy!” Kumada complained, putting her hands up behind her head.
“Yeah. That’d be nice for once.”
