Chapter Text
“Gotta do my hair, put my makeup on, it's Friday night and I won't be long!” Yuura sang along to the music as she did exactly that, getting ready to go to one of her favourite things: a musical!
To be specific, she had box seats to Wicked, and it was all to celebrate her 16th birthday. She put on a tiny amount of blush, taking care not to mess up, lest her dress get dirty. It was a very pricey one after all. The only thing that made her look slightly not graceful was the plaster on her nose and the bandages wrapped around her neck. Due to her accident-prone nature, there would always be a plaster or bandage on her somewhere.
“Perfect,” Yuura murmured, a slight smile on her face. Checking the time on her phone, she then quickened her movements, excitement building for the evening ahead. But then, a voice spoke, stopping Yuura in her tracks and shifting the mood instantly.
“Ah, my dear esteemed benefactor of evil.”
What is this?
Yuura's head turned back to the mirror and she squinted. Suddenly, the space of her room seemed to fade as the mirror became smoky and lime green. That's a bad sign, (nearly) Every Villain Is Lime. She knew that from the many, many Disney movies she had watched. But…there was no way this was real, right? Yuura had to be hallucinating! Maybe from the many, many all-nighters she had pulled? During her little moment of panic, she definitely missed something because the mirror was already on some other topic.
“...evil. You are truly the fairest one of all.”
Thanks for the compliment of fairest, mirror, but no thanks. Her surroundings started to darken, black fog creeping around her.
“No, no, no. I have a musical to get to, nope, I don't want to be the protag of some anime or something. How do I opt out?” Her voice went up an octave, shaky and pitchy.
“O magic mirror, thy wisdom I entreat… Reveal to me the visage I seek.” The green smoke cleared away, revealing her face.
“NOPE, NO, I am NOT the girl you are looking for.” Yuura tried to back away, only for the darkness to push her forward. “GAH. Rude.”
“You, whose image the Dark Mirror did beckon forth…
If your heart bids it, take the hand of the one reflected in the mirror.”
Yuura let out a sigh, defeated.
“Yeah, fine. Guess I wasted 100 plus dollars on a show I can't even watch because of a stupid mirror.” Reaching out a hand, she touched the surface of the mirror. The darkness consumed her, her consciousness fading.

“As flame reduces even the stars to ash
As ice seals away even time itself
As great trees swallow even the sky
Fear not the power of darkness.
Now – demonstrate your power.”
...
“WHAT ARE YOU?!?” Yuura screamed as she faced a creature with features she didn't even know how to describe. (Usually, she would be way more composed. But do cut her some slack, you don’t exactly see monsters in your everyday life, now do you?)
“AHHHHHH!!!!!!! SOMEONE, ANYONE HELP!!!” She yelps. The monster did not at all seem concerned and batted a paw at her, and Yuura’s vision cut to black once more.
