Summary
Set two months after the siege of the Last City once the survivors found refuge at the safe haven, untouched by the Flare and WCKD's grasp. Among them is Newt, who once nearly lost himself to infection. Haunted by the past, Newt struggles to rebuild a life he no longer feels he deserves. Thomas has taken on a leadership role, burdened by the pressure of it. For reasons unknown, Thomas has kept his distance from Newt, their once unbreakable friendship now nothing more than small talk, much to Newt's dismay.
But as the fragile safety of their camp begins to crack, the two are pulled together and pushed apart by guilt, memories, and a connection neither can deny. Storms rage, both within and without; loyalties shift, and ghosts from the mainland return in new forms.
