Something... hurts. In his head. He can't really tell what kind of hurt it is. It's kind of sharp, but also kind of… throbby? His face feels funny, too—well, besides the magnet taped to it. The colors are pretty, though. He moves his head a bit and his screen flicks off. Huh. He moves his head back and it turns on again. Off, on, off, on, off... oh, it won't turn on again.
Should he be upset about that? Maybe. It seems like something that should bother him. Should he be upset that he isn’t upset?
Kris was saying something. No... not Kris. Kris was hard to hear. Not-Kris was always loud. Too loud.
"Fix him."
"WHAT'S THE—————[Fix it for free] NO [di5count]——————WITHOUT [$!$$]ING————————PARTS???"
So loud. Was the family arguing again? Ratings were down... shouldn't he do something? He’ll put on something nice to distract them.
He puts on ICE-E's Puzzle Parade, cranking up the volume. Garbled static floods his perception, drowning out the yelling. He thinks he's getting a slight signal, but his screen is still black. He shakes his head a bit to try to get the image to appear, and for a moment a flash of colors appears on his screen, only to disappear again. The pain in his head intensifies.
Someone touches his head. He doesn’t like that.
He tries to look at them, but everything is vague shapes amid static and rainbows. It’s beautiful... he should try this as a background for his kids shows, maybe.
"Kris... youuuuu're sitting... too close. Tori said..."
"NOT A ——— of sheep]! THE [Geppetto] —— [And repairs are free!] DON'T DON'T [every—————— [N/A] BE ALRIGHT."
Oh....... that's not Kris. That's... the rat? No, no, the answer is option D, it's...
"Sssspamton?"
"[THAT'S EXACTLY RIGHT]."
Oh..... that made sense.
Spamton started unscrewing his casing.
"Wha... happened? Did I have an ag—ack—acsssident? On th' stage?"
"YES. [Had an accident? Call] SPAMT——"
Gosh... he must have really knocked something loose! His screen was all messed up, and he couldn't see or hear very well. It was a good thing Spamton was here.
"Thankssssss for. Fixing me. Alwaysss. You were better. Thann me. Thhought I was better, but you were. M’sorry. Miss you."
The fingers feeling around for the groove in his casing paused.
"I don't.... whhappened? W'signed the contract an... an were so happy... was... so happy I could kisss you."
"WHAT!?"
"But thasssokay. B'cause... you're back. Arrree... you'kay, Spammy? You seemed... upset earlierr. With th'phone."
The fingers started moving again, his plastic casing finally popping off. A rush of cool air hits his cathode, making him shiver.
"...I'M FINE, [CRT TVs]."
Spamton was messing around with his wires now. It hurt, but that was okay. Spamton would never really hurt him. Spamton always fixed him.
He reached blindly behind himself, coming into contact with something plastic and warm and buzzing. There he was. He shifted his hand up until he found a mop of hair, and did his best to lightly tousle it.
"—————MY [gorgeous locks] [Trash heap]!"
"I forgot. To say earlier. Isss important."
"CUT TO THE CHASE. [Spitoon] OUT."
A loose wire finally regained proper contact, and his screen sputtered back on. A moment later, he could feel electrical tape being gently wrapped around the exposed contact. Tenna smiled goofily as he felt the warm colors spread across his face.
"Love you, Spammy. Don't... don't leave me, okay? I dunno why... the phone... you seemed scared. But... s'okay.”
Tenna’s grin slipped, washed away by the technicolor waves.
"I think... I'm scared too."
".........OKAY."
