Trick or Treat or Whatever!
They were all dressed for the special occasion.
Clone Force 99, the kids of the special force they were to become. With 99 helping the lot of them, each having their unique design, either having fun with it or giving homage to those they were dressed as.
As this, was their very first All Hallow’s Eve.
The one time the clone kids were allowed to play dress up and go out there, in Kamino, but still, to get their treats from the older clones or then the kaminoans.
99 being the first one they were going to, as agreed.
Getting their first sweets from their mentor and friend.
Then, it was time to hit the road. Well, the corridors, Hunter, Wrecker, Tech and Crosshair, all eager to do this, having heard good things from their fellow clones.
First door they tried was the quarters of newly promoted Captain Cody’s.
“Trick or Treat!”
“Well, don’t ya all look cute!”
“We make the costumes by ourself.” Hunter proudly told Cody.
“With some help of 99.” Tech corrected.
“Ya, we dat good!” Wrecker added.
“Ya got snackies for us?” Crosshair simply added.
Cody was wide smiles, loving the kids coming by and them all dressed up.
“Hold up a sec will ya!” Cody picked his holocoder, snapping a pic or few of his favourite crew, before giving them several candy bars.
“Thanks Cody!” They all cheered, as they continued on their route.
“Cody luvs us the best.”
“Yeah, we dat good!”
Moving along, next stop, Nala Se’s quarters.
*
“Scary!”
“Nah, we more scary than her!”
“Sure are!”
Feeling bold as they chimed the door of the scientist’s.
The door soon opening with a creepy and scary sound. Behind it no-one. Only revealing something totally strange behind it, a dark and misty atmosphere with some strange sounds heard in the background.
The Kids stood there by the entrance, not daring to enter.
“Scary door!” Wrecker whispered.
“Do we dare?” Tech asked.
“I dun wanna.” Crosshair was shaking.
“I go first.” Hunter said.
“No, wait!” Echo stopped him. “We go together.”
And so, holding hands, the five of them entered the rooms through the scary door.
The hisses of something or someone all around, the odd plucky music playing there. Nala Se nowhere to be seen.
“Me scared.”
“Us too.”
“Yeah… we should go.”
Just then, there was a hiss, another door opening and…
… a figure, tall, dark… standing there, with a scary mask on their face, eyes glowing in the darkness…
They all shrieked as they froze in their footfalls.
“Run!” Hunter managed then, the lot of them about to bolt when…
“Wait, wee ones. It is I, Nala Se!!! Don’t be scared!”
The kids quickly got their wits about them, hearing the familiar voice.
“Wot?”
“How?”
“Why?”
“I… was in a mud batch. Sorry children!”
“Nala Se?”
“Yes, like said.”
“Um… what’s on yer face?”
“It’s a mud mask. I was taking a hot bath. Good for the joints and skin.”
“Oh.”
“K.”
“Why?”
“Odd.” Echo whispered to Tech.
The five of them stood there frozen in place still, staring at Mistress Se. The odd look on her was, well, surprising to say the least. More like out of this world and totally scary looking. More so than any made up monster could ever achieve.
“Us trick ’n treatin’” Hunter found his courage to speak finally.
“I can see that.” Nala Se could see the costumes of course. “Fine costumes you all have.”
“Thanks!”
“I have something for you.” She picked up the large bowl on the counter close by and gave each of them a handful of treats. “I assume you prefer the treats.”
“We do!”
“Thanks Mistress Se!”
They waved their good byes as they left for the next one on their list.
“That was scawy.”
“Scawier than those tales 99 tells us.”
“True!”
“Yeah!”
“What was that anyway?”
“A mask!”
“Adults!”
“Strange beings!”
“We never do that!”
“Never!”
“Nope, too scary!”
“Yeah, we stay kids, foreva!”
Easier said than done perhaps.
But, they all laughed then in relief, the incident over thankfully. The kids having gotten scared by Nala Se’s skincare routine for sure. Something not easily forgotten anytime soon!
