Work Text:
Sebastian was not a curious person when it came to potentially lethal subjects. He ran away from peril, didn’t stand around waiting for bad things to happen, stayed out of the so-called blood circle.
Of course, when that can no longer be the case, accommodations have to be made. He settled for a particular sort of denial.
Still fairly reserved, making sure to minimize his own general misery, he wanted to unearth something about Randal that he didn’t have to be afraid of, or could make the things that he was afraid of that much less horrifying. Not an easy task, as one would guess. Mostly, it seemed pointless; everything led to the results he wanted to avoid.
In a way, it felt like he was just trying to find a spot on him that didn't feel wrong to touch.
He failed each time.
Each time except now.
He at last had that abominable creature backed into a corner, twitching and writhing as it always does. Sebastian was grasping one of his forearms with both hands, while the other was left unattended. Maybe an oversight, but Randal didn’t look like he was about to cause trouble with it anyway. He was just staring.
Sebastian tightened the grip with one palm while he moved the other all the way up to Randal’s wrist. He squeezed. Randal sighed.
His hand went even higher, closing halfway around Randal’s own. He twisted it a bit to the side. It didn’t give.
He put more strength in.
He felt weird crunching under his fingers; each twist and pop sent vibrations through his whole arm. The vaguely repulsive feeling, similar to biting down on cartilage, surprised him at first and made him pause. Not for long; as soon as he saw Randal’s watery eyes, he pushed farther. To Sebastian, these snaps, incorrect and worrying in every sense of the word, were indecent at best and nothing short of obscene at worst.
If any, absolutely any, smidge of rational thought had still remained within him after feeling the first cracks, it was quickly dealt with by suspiciously not displeased cries coming from Randal.
He was looking at his own hand intently, watching it do more and more damage to the wrist, which, at this point, definitely looked odd, bent at an unnatural angle.
After some time, the grinding stopped being so apparent. Sebastian resorted to moving Randal’s palm any way he could, slowly, with purpose. He liked how it felt, the whole arm twitching in some positions as if something inside was suddenly in the wrong place.
Something he assumed to be a sick feeling of retribution made his stupid heart beat faster. That could not possibly be a normal thing to feel.
Randal didn’t seem to share his turmoil.
Speaking of which - Sebastian kind of forgot he was there. It seemed silly as soon as he realized it, afterall, it was Randal’s tissues getting displaced in a less than gentle way. He’d just been so passive, for once not causing problems. Still, as usual, he seemed to be enjoying something that he really shouldn’t be. Pointing that out now would feel like hypocrisy to Sebastian.
Looking at him like that felt warm for no apparent reason. Wringing Randal’s wrist harshly and watching so many colors flash in his eyes had Sebastian convinced it was the most intense feeling one could experience. In short, it felt impossible to stop.
It didn’t seem like he’d have to, though.
Randal raised his other arm, pointedly shoving it in Sebastian’s direction, the silent request not left unfulfilled, as Sebastian reached over to his hand with a long and steady inhale.
He wasn’t afraid.
