Halloween Date

Summary:

It's Halloween and also Madoka's first 'date' with Homura to go trick or treating - except all of their friends will be there too. The chaos of their friend group making their date feel strained as they attempt to share time just the two of them.

But who knew it will lead them to get even closer than before! ⋆˙⟡

Notes:

Hello everyone, I know Halloween just ended but this took to longer to write than I thought. I wasn't able to celebrate Halloween so I'm living it through this story! (ᵕ—ᴗ—)

On another note: They are about 16 in this, with Mami being around 17 and Nagisa being around 13! I am extremely bad at tagging so I didn't know if maybe I should add an aged-up tag? Since they are only aged a little older than their canon ages!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Today was Halloween, the spookiest day of the year. At this time, people were already getting themselves dressed up in their costumes to go out and get candies with friends or families, except for Madoka Kaname.

Madoka was stuck in her room, pacing nervously before looking at herself in her full body mirror that was leaning against her wall. She had to get ready soon, because her and her friends had planned to go trick or treating tonight. Though that was definitely not why she was nervous.

Halloween was a special day for her. Ever since she was younger she would trick or treat with her best friend Sayaka and Hitomi. With time their group got larger – and then less when Hitomi had started going out with their classmate Kyosuke.

Hitomi was still their friend of course, and Madoka cared about her deeply! But she couldn't lie when she thought about how happy she was in her current friend group. Sayaka, Kyoko, Mami and Nagisa, and most importantly – Homura.

Which is why this Halloween was much more special and the true reason behind her nervousness was all because of Homura, her girlfriend.

The two of them got together officially just two short months ago, but with school and the number of assignments to be done, they never had enough time to go on a first date. Not only that, but Madoka had never even been on a date before.

Deep in Madoka’s heart, she believed that this could count as their first date.

Except for the fact Madoka’s friends are tagging along with them, which means less alone time for the couple.

But at least Sayaka and Kyoko were in a relationship and stayed together more often than not. And Nagisa stays close to Mami, because she's her older sister. So technically, Madoka and Homura could get some time alone if they tried.

They had all planned to meet up at Madoka’s house in about half an hour before they set off to trick or treat.  Her costume was currently laid flat on her bed.

Madoka looked at the clock on her bedside table and noticed the time. She only had half an hour to get into her costume!

She grabbed her costume off her bed and moved to her mirror to dress herself as quickly as she could. This Halloween, she had decided on being an angel. The costume was beautiful and well made, and not to mention the amount of sparkles on it. And tying everything together were the feathery wings that attached to the back of the costume.

As she dressed, she looked over to her bed again. There was a large wicker basket and a pumpkin basket sitting right where her costume was once laid. The pumpkin basket was a light orange color, followed by a black handle and a spooky face printed onto the front. This was the basket she would be using for their trick or treating, to collect all the yummy candies they could possibly get.

But for the wicker basket, that was going to be used for Kyubey, Madoka’s pet cat that she recently found and adopted.

Coincidently, Madoka found him just two days after Homura had asked her out. To her, those were the two best things that happened to her in so long. But the fluffy white cat was still too clingy after being abandoned for so long, which is why Madoka is going to carry him around in the basket while her and her friends go trick or treating.

Kyubey was sitting on her bedroom floor, watching as Madoka put the wings on her costume.

“Oh Kyubey,” she smiled and picked up the cat to set him on her bed. “I’ll play with you in a second, I just need to finish my hair then I'm done!”

She went back to her mirror to do her hair and makeup. It was a simple hairstyle, two ponytails, just like usual, only this time the ribbons she used were white. After that, she applied pink lip gloss with some glittery eyeshadow and was finally done.

There were only ten more minutes on the clock until her friends would arrive. Looking back at Kyubey, she realized she would have to be quicker than she thought for this next part.

Slipping on her white shoes to match her costume, she walked to her desk and grabbed another costume – only this one was much smaller. “Now it's your turn Kyubey!” delighted, she grabbed the small bee costume that was made for cats and carefully put it on him.

Kyubey meowed but didn't put up much of a fuss, letting himself be put in the costume, and now he looked cuter than ever!

“There!” Madoka double checked that the costume was on properly before stepping back, grabbing her phone, and taking a million pictures.

There was a light knock on her bedroom door, interrupting her from the photo session. Wondering who it was, she got up and sat her phone next to Kyubey before opening her door.

“Hi mom! Oh, and Homura!” Madoka grinned at the sight of Homura, who was already dressed in her costume. She assumed that Homura was going to arrive with the others, but this was a welcome surprise.

Madoka’s mother, Junko, looked from Homura to Madoka with a grin. “Madoka, the costume looks great and fits well.”

Homura looked Madoka up and down, taking in the glittering angel costume in all its beauty. “She’s right Madoka, it really does look pretty on you.” Madoka left her bedroom window open slightly earlier, so the sunset filtering out of it was now casting against her, the light causing her outfit to look more ethereal than before.

Junko spoke one last time, wanting to give the girls some privacy. “Okay you two, have fun and be good! Me and your father are taking Tatsuya out trick or treating after you leave. Oh… and don't stay out too late.” She winked and left the room, closing the door behind her.

Madoka flushed when she heard her mother's words. “Um, ignore her,” she rubbed the back of her head and took a step back, taking in Homura’s costume now.

Homura’s long hair was flowing down behind her back, and on the top of her head was a simple devil’s horn headband. Her costume was a plain back dress with a red ribbon tied around the middle which matched her dark red lipstick. But behind her, just like Madoka, were black fluffy wings.

Earlier that month, they decided on wearing matching costumes when their group got together after school once, discussing what they should be for this Halloween. Madoka decided to be an angel, and Homura decided to be the devil to match, but she didn't know what her friends ended up choosing.

“Sorry I look so plain, I hope the costume still looks okay?” Homura was carrying a pumpkin basket that was used to collect candies, it was almost identical to Madoka's. She walked over and sat it down on Madoka’s bed.

“No Homura, you look amazing!” She walked over to Homura and grabbed her hands, holding them in her own.

The air between them was thick with an emotion neither of them could explain. Madoka blushed and pulled back, shaming herself for looking so desperate in front of her girlfriend.

“So, have you seen Kyubey’s costume yet?” Madoka went to get Kyubey off her bed but realized he was now hiding under her desk.

The cat meowed softly and Madoka shook her head, walking over to pick him up. He was not used to Homura yet, still being skittish like the stray he used to be.

Homura walked over and pet Kyubey under his chin, making him more relaxed in Madoka’s arms. “He looks adorable,” Homura spoke quietly, not wanting to frighten Kyubey again.

Madoka nodded her head in agreement. “Did you get my messages earlier? I’m bringing him with us. I’m going to carry him in that basket so that he can celebrate with us!”

Homura took a step back, moving her hands away from Kyubey while Madoka placed the cat in the basket that was on her bed. “Are you sure you want to take him, he may get scared… or fall out.” Homura inspected the basket, the bottom was cushioned with a couple blankets so at least the cat will be comfortable.

Kyubey lay there on top of the blankets, not showing much of a reaction. Madoka thought it over again but knew that everything would be fine.

“He’ll be okay! He likes to be carried around in the basket, just watch!”

She picked up the basket, Kyubey was sitting relaxed in the basket, even while Madoka was carrying him, walking around her room to demonstrate that he would be fine. Kyubey peeked from above the basket. It almost looked like he was smiling while being carried around.

“Huh, I guess he does like it,” Homura said, a little shocked at how calm the cat was.

“Yeah!” Madoka sat the basket back down on the bed. Luckily Kyubey was still on the smaller side, so he wasn't that heavy to carry around.

“We’ll have so much fun, and it's like our very first date too!” Madoka couldn't stop herself from saying that, despite how nervous she was earlier, she felt excited now that Homura was actually here.

Homura didn't seem to share the same enthusiasm as Madoka did, causing her to stop cheering. Madoka tilted her head, looking confused when she noticed Homura frowning, “Is there something wrong? We don't have to call it a date, if you don't want to… I just thought it could be.”

“No!” Homura announced rather loudly, “It's just that your friends will be there, there won't be a lot of time between us, you know?”

Madoka understood that, she felt the exact same way earlier, she just didn't know how to reply well. Madoka wanted this to be a date, she wanted to spend time with Homura privately, but she also wanted to spend time with her best friends too.

She sat down on her bed, thinking. “I know, but hey! We can try to squeeze some time together, and if you want, you can sleep over at my house tonight, only if you want to. You can even borrow my pajamas!”

Homura enjoyed this idea, the frown was now replaced with a small smile. “I would love that, after trick or treating, I'lljust come back here with you. But would it be okay if I showered, I'll need to take off this makeup,” she points to the black eyeliner and dark red lipstick on her face.

“Yeah of course! And don't worry about my family, they like you!” Madoka paused, “and I'll need a shower too, this costume is pretty itchy… and tight.”

Suddenly, the bedroom door opened again, taking both Madoka and Homura by surprise. The door pushed open to reveal Sayaka, Kyoko, Mami, and Nagisa standing there, already dressed up in their costumes.

Mami spoke up first, walking next to Madoka. “Hey girls, sorry we’re a few minutes late, your mom just told us to come up here and that you and Homura are ready!”

But Sayaka cut in, standing in the middle of Madoka and Homura now, inspecting both their costumes. “Wow you look awesome, like a real angel,” she turned to Homura next, “and yours is extremely fitting.”

Homura smirked, sensing the dry tone in Sayaka’s voice, she loved a good challenge against her. “Yours is too.”

“Hey what does that even mean! My costume is just something Kyoko dared me to wear – unlike you, who acts like a little devil.” Sayaka whined but she didn't mean any harm against Homura, their dynamic was always like this, fighting and making comments at each other.

Madoka looked at Sayaka’s costume, wondering what was going on after hearing them argue.

Sayaka was dressed up as a mummy. There were dirty white bandages wrapped around her arms and legs that circled around her stomach and up to her neck. There were even some bandages wrapped around her face, and in Madoka’s opinion, she really could pass as a real mummy.

After looking at Sayaka’s costume, she turned to her other friends.

Kyoko was dressed as a werewolf, with her hair tied up in a ponytail with some fluffy wolf ears. Kyoko’s dress was simple but had some fur that looked glued to the fabric, along with some fluffy gloves that resembled a wolf's paw.

Mami was dressed as a vampire, her dress was red and black with a long cape behind it and tied to her waist was a satin corset. Her hair was simple compared to her outfit, it was tied in a bun with a black ribbon.

Next to her was Nagisa, her adopted younger sister, who was smiling brightly in her pumpkin costume with some candy hairclips placed randomly all in her hair.

All their costumes were beautiful, and Madoka knew they'd be getting lots of candy this year. She smiled cheerfully, “you guys have great costumes!”

Kyoko chipped in, looking at Madoka with sparkles in her eyes, “you too! But can we please go already. No rush, but we're gonna need a head start if you wanna get our baskets filled to the brim with candies!”

Nagisa cheered at the word candy, “let's go, I’ve been waiting all day!” She tugged on Mami’s sleeve, urging her to hurry.

Mami shook her head and placed a hand behind Nagisa’s back, trying to settle her down “It has not been all day Nagisa. She then looked up to Madoka, “are you ready to go?”

“I'm all ready!" She grabbed the basket that held Kyubey, who was fast asleep against the blankets. In her other arm was the pumpkin basket; she noticed that everyone else held a basket like hers for their trick or treating. “Let’s go get some candy!”

The sun finally set, making it even scarier for the trick or treaters who walked down the sidewalks in their costumes. The houses and bushes were decorated in cobwebs and lights, and Madoka even noticed a giant spider on the top of someone's house.

Madoka and her friends walked down the sidewalk, along with other teenagers and kids. Safe to say that the group was having a good time, having been out for nearly an hour already, getting as much candy as they could.

Even Kyubey was peeking out of the basket that Madoka carried him in, looking at all the lights around him.

Looking at Madoka, Sayaka spoke while they were walking to the next house. “Don’t you get tired of carrying him?” She motioned to the basket where Kyubey’s face could be seen looking around.

“Nope, he's doing really well today, I'm surprised, usually he's jumpier!” She said and then looked at Homura, who stayed right by her side while they walked. Homura flashed her with a quick smile before they finally arrived at the next house.

Nagisa jumped up to the door first, knocking harder than she should have. The door opened to reveal an older lady who held a bowl of candies for the trick or treaters.

“Trick or treat!” The group of girls said in unison, Nagisa and Kyoko more excited than most.

The lady gleamed, taking in their outfits. “Such lovely costumes you have. Here, take two candies each please,” she handed out the bowl of candies.

The girls did what they were told and took the two pieces of candy that they were allowed. Except for Nagisa and Madoka who spent more time trying to decide which candy they wanted to choose. Nagisa decided on two chocolate pieces, placing them in her basket.

“Thank you!” They all said, besides Madoka, who was staring into the candy bowl, not knowing if she wanted some chocolates like Nagisa or something else.

Kyubey peeked out of the wicker basket again, looking into the bowl curiously. The lady at the door noticed and smiled. “Oh my, is this your cat? I love his costume.”

Madoka perked up, she had almost forgotten about Kyubey and the fact he was in a costume too. “Thanks! He’s dressed as a bee, it may be hard to notice because he likes to get under these blankets.”

The lady looked at the cat again and then set the candy bowl down. “Wait one second, I have something,” she went back inside her house, the front door still wide open.

Madoka looked at Homura, clearly confused.

Homura shrugged and patted Madoka on her back, “I wonder what she's doing?”

It was just them two at the door now, the rest of the group were already back on the sidewalk, waiting to go down to the next house. Madoka stood there with Homura, waiting patiently.

She looked at the candy bowl again and decided to get two chocolates just like Nagisa.

The lady came back to the front door with something in her hand. Madoka noticed that it was a clear bag with a pumpkin print on it, and it was filled with some brown stuff which was definitely not candy.

“Here, these are some cat treats. I always keep some around for the stray cats that pop up by my house,” she handed Madoka the bag of treats that were obviously for Kyubey.

“Thank you! I’m sure he'll enjoy these so much,” she puts them in her pumpkin basket, knowing if she put them in the same basket as Kyubey he would tear it open and eat all the treats. “I'll give them to him when we get home!”

“It’s no problem, even he deserves a treat on Halloween,” the lady waved goodbye, noticing that a group of kids were making their way over to fill their candy bowls next.

Madoka and Homura waved back and then turned around to walk back to the sidewalk where the rest of their group were waiting patiently, well, most of their group.

Nagisa cheered, “finally you're back! Can we please go to the next house, we need more candy!” She was immediately quieted by Mami, who had to try and teach her younger sister some manners.

“We will in a second.” Mami looks up to Madoka, “what did that lady give you guys?”

Madoka grabbed the bag of treats and showed the group. “She gave us some cat treats for Kyubey!” The cat looked over at the bag of treats, his eyes growing large, but Madoka put them away before he could get the chance to start begging.

Kyoko was appalled, she never knew a cat to get a treat during Halloween. “Wow cat treats, so cool…” her voice trailed off before she tapped Nagisa’s shoulder, “come on, race you to the next house!”

Kyoko was already running, Nagisa was running behind her, trying to catch up. “Hey no fair, you got a head start!”

Mami trailed behind Nagisa, “hey not so quick!”

Sayaka stood next to Madoka, shaking her head at how immature her girlfriend was. She looked at Madoka’s full candy basket, then to her own. “We've gotten so much candy, so much more than last year!” Sayaka grabbed a piece of chocolate, unwrapping the piece before popping it into her mouth.

“Yeah and we're not even done yet,” Madoka laughed, now looking at her pumpkin basket that was full of candies. She didn't want to eat any of the candy yet, saving it for when they got home.

Sayaka looked at Homura who stood next to Madoka, taking a piece of candy for herself. “Are you guys gonna do anything after this?” She smirked, noticing how Madoka’s face turned bright red.

“We're going to spend the night at my house, that's it! Well, and eat some candy too!” Madoka rubbed the back of her head nervously, turning to look at Homura next to her.

Homura smiled, it sounded like the best plan she's ever heard of.

Sayaka pat Madoka’s head reassuringly. “Hey don't worry, I was just teasing, but have fun, okay? Me and Kyoko are also gonna hang out at my place and eat all the candy!”

Sayaka looked at Kyoko from afar, who had already eaten most of the candy she collected. “Well, if there's any left – ugh Kyoko!” She called out, running up to the rest of the group who already made it to the next house.

“We'll be there in a second!” Madoka yelled out, laughing under her breath before turning to Homura. But she noticed an off-putting frown on the girl's face, “hey Homura, are you alright?” She talked softly, maybe she was just tired; they have walked at least a couple miles by now.

Homura looked to the side, making Madoka worry more. “Please, did I do something wrong – if I did I swear I didn't mean to!” She set down the two baskets, luckily Kyubey was back asleep so he didn't have a chance to hop out.

Madoka held Homura’s hands into hers, “Homura?”

“I’m okay, it's just, well…” her voice trailed, blushing at the feeling of those soft hands touching hers. She mustered up the courage to reply, squeezing the others hands. “I just want to spend more time with you, I mean, I'm having fun of course,” she takes a deep breath, “I just want more time between us… alone.”

Madoka smiled wistfully, looking down at Kyubey in the basket, anywhere else but Homura. “I know, and I do too! I guess this kind of is a bad date.”

“No, it's not that, I just want to…” She looks around noticing how everyone was currently getting some candy, not paying any attention to either of them. She decided now was the time to do something she's been wanting to do for a long time.

She leaned in quickly, taking the other by surprise, and pressed her lips against Madoka’s own slightly opened lips.

It was awkward, and very quick, both being their first kiss.

Madoka’s eyes went as wide as ever before, her face turned a dark red color. She pulled her hands away from Homura's and felt the tingling sensation on her lips.

“Homura!” She squeaked, turning the opposite way to rub her face that was already red from embarrassment.

Homura, on the other hand, was already regretting her entire life choices. “Oh no, no, no, no! I’m so sorry Madoka, I just – it felt like the perfect time.” She didn't know what to do anymore and took a step back, trying to calm down, “I should've asked first, I'm sorry.

Madoka took another breath and turned around facing her again, but her eyes stayed focused on the ground. “It wasn't bad, it just took me off guard…” she started to walk closer, grabbing her hands once again.

She stood up, being shorter than Homura, and gave her a small kiss. This time it wasn't as bad but not the best due to the lack of experience they had.

“Madoka,” Homura whispered, about to lean in again before jumping back when she noticed Sayaka standing behind Madoka.

“What are you guys doing, we've been waiting at the next house for a while – wait! Did you two just kiss!”

Madoka’s face turned an impossible shade of red, not being able to get any form of words out of her mouth. “Ah, no! Homura, she just had something on her face, so I blew it off, nothing bad!” Madoka picked up the two baskets again and stood up straight while trying to calm down.

Sayaka raised an eyebrow, obviously not believing anything her best friend was telling her. “Uh huh, then why are your lips such a dark shade of red, I thought you were just wearing a gloss?”

Madoka laughed nervously before doing the only available option, which was to run as fast as she could to the rest of the group who were waiting at the next house.

“Are you alright?” Mami called when Madoka appeared in front of her while trying to catch her breath. Kyubey, who was sleeping so calmly, was now sticking his head out of the basket while looking upset – most likely from all the rustling while Madoka ran, but his mood changed instantly when Nagisa and Kyoko started to pet him.

“Yeah, I’m okay!” but internally she was freaking out, she did just have her first kiss on her first date while being surrounded by a bunch of trick or treaters surrounding them.

Homura and Sayaka returned to the group, they were both being quieter than usual while Sayaka kept looking at her from the corner of her eye.

“Let's go to the rest of the house please, I need more candy!” Nagisa said while bouncing up and down, she definitely ate too much candy already.

Madoka laughed but deep down, she worried for Mami who would have to deal with Nagisa’s sugar rush all night. “Let’s finish and get more candy, let’s go!” Madoka spoke gently and with that, the rest of their group returned to their trick or treating.

This time the air between Madoka and Homura felt softer, even though she still felt nervous, she felt happy.

Another hour passed and the girls' baskets were overflowing at this point, this is when they decided it was finally time to go home. That and the fact that it was already getting to be way too late, Nagisa was already half asleep from how much they walked and how much candy she had.

They took a group photo before going their separate ways for the night. It hadn't been the first time they took a photo together and definitely wouldn't be the last either.

Madoka and Homura returned to her house like promised, making sure to be quiet when they entered. From only one light being on, Madoka knew that her mother and father were back from their own trick or treating with Tatsuya and were asleep.

They walked up the stairs to Madoka’s bedroom. “Finally, we're here!” She set down the baskets, “that feels nice, you were right Homura, maybe holding him was heavy.”

Homura chuckled and patted Kyubey’s head, who was not out of the basket and curled up on Madoka’s bed, still in his bee costume. “It’s okay, but I have to admit I’m feeling as tired as him.”

Madoka was setting out some pajamas for Homura, also feeling the exhaustion of walking so much. “Me too, but here's some pajamas you can wear,” she took the wings off her costume and placed them in the corner of her room, “do you want to take your shower now?"

Homura nodded and grabbed the pajamas, walking out of Madoka’s room and to the bathroom where a relaxing shower awaited her. In fact, Madoka couldn't wait until she was done so she could get in after.

While Homura was in the shower, Madoka set the two candy baskets on her desk and took the bee costume off Kyubey. She felt bad but she nearly forgot him, at least he looked happy in the costume.

Soon enough Homura came back into the bedroom, wearing pajamas that were just a little too tight from being taller than Madoka. Her hair was wet, but she was more comfortable, the low lighting in Madoka’s room calming her down after their long night.

“Do those fit okay, I can probably find something else for you to wear if you want.” Madoka got up from her bed after playing on her phone.

Homura just shook her head, “no they feel okay, and they smell nice too.”

Madoka blushed for what felt like the millionth time that night. “If you're sure, then it's okay! I'm going to take my shower, this costume is getting uncomfortable now.”

Homura sat down on the bed again, rubbing Kyubey’s head before grabbing her phone where it sat on Madoka’s bedside table. “Take your time, I'm just going to look through the photos we took today.”

Madoka went to take her shower. After she was in the privacy of the bathroom, she removed her costume and untied her hair. She sighed in relief, her hair being down after it was pulled up for so long was really starting to make her uncomfortable.

The shower itself was quick but refreshing, and the warm water against her skin felt like a blessing.

She got out after she was finished and brushed her damp hair out, not having the energy to fully dry her hair like usual, but going for a quick towel to dry after she dressed herself in her pajamas.

Once she was ready, she put on her slippers and tied her hair up in a ponytail, walking back into her bedroom and slowly shutting the door behind her to make sure she didn't wake any of her family up.

She yawned and plopped down on her bed, lying down next to Homura who was sitting down scrolling on her phone.

“You feel better Madoka?” Homura placed her phone down and patted Madoka’s head, her hair was still wet so her bangs stuck to her forehead.

Madoka sat up quickly, “yes I do, wanna eat some candy now?” She motioned to the two overflowing pumpkin baskets. She wasn't that hungry, but she only ate one candy so far and what's Halloween without eating a bunch of candy?

“Of course I do,” Homura got up and grabbed the baskets before sitting down right next to Madoka again.

The two of them ate their candies while talking about everything and anything, laughing about silly memories. After they were talking about how funny Nagisa was acting today, Homura got quiet again, just like she did earlier while they were still trick or treating.

“You okay?” She said while taking another bite of candy.

“Yeah, but are you? I mean about earlier, when I kissed you?”

Madoka froze, grabbing another candy and shoving it into her mouth. “Oh that! Um, yes it was okay…” she took a deep breath, but she felt less nervous talking about this subject now than before, “I was just embarrassed, you know, I’ve never had a kiss before.”

Homura nodded, “I get it, me either, but do you want to ever do it again sometime?”

Madoka shook her head in agreement, “yes, I just hate how I get embarrassed too quickly!” She lays her back against the bed, looking up at the ceiling.

“It's fine Madoka, I do too…” she laid down next to her, grabbing her hand before turning to lay on her side.

Madoka followed and laid on her side too, both of them just looking into their eyes while smiling, candy wrapped surrounding them. Homura leaned in closely, “is it okay if we can do it again, like right now?”

Madoka agreed with a quick nod, both of them leaning in to kiss one last time for the night. It felt softer and easier, with no one around them but Kyubey who slept at the edge of Madoka’s bed.

After a minute, Madoka pulled away for air, taking a deep breath while sitting up.

“Was that okay?” Homura was nervous like she always was when it came to Madoka.

“It was good, really good, I feel happy!” She played with the edge of her pajama shirt, but suddenly the exhaustion from earlier had come back, making her feel like a giant truck just ran over her.

She let out a yawn, looking at Homura who was still laying down. “Maybe we should sleep now?”

Homura nodded after she yawned, realizing it was finally time to get some sleep. Madoka picked up the candy wrapped and threw them away while also making sure their pumpkin baskets were set up where Kyubey couldn't have access to them. She felt bad after seeing the bag of cat treats. Kyubey was so good today, but it would have to wait until tomorrow when they were all rested.

She turned off the light and laid next to Homura once again. The blankets wrapped around them, warming them from the cold October night.

The moonlight streamed through her curtains, creating just enough light so that Madoka could look at Homura. “Thanks for coming with me, Homura, I had a lot of fun.”

Homura agreed, reaching for Madoka’s hands under the blanket and holding them tightly. “You don't have to thank me, I wanted to go. But maybe we can have a date just for us next time, we can go get some food or something.”

Madoka liked that idea and got excited just at the thought of the two of them spending time and eating together, just them and no one else.

It was quiet for just a moment only before Homura spoke in the quietest voice she could muster. “Madoka, I love you, it's like I could spend all my time with you and feel no regrets.” Homura moved closer, wrapping her arms around her.

“I love you too, Homura!” She grinned, “so did it count as a first date?”

“Most definitely, the best first date I could ever have.”

Madoka smiled and moved in closer, her face resting on Homura’s chest, and just like that the two of them were now sleeping peacefully.

Hope it was good, thanks for reading and checking out my story! Everything means so much to me, I hope to become a better writer soon! ( ⸝⸝´꒳`⸝⸝)

Anyways, thanks for reading and I appreciate every one of you, stay safe! ♡

Update: I originally posted this on November 1st 2025 but it was not the best so I wanted to rewrite it completely. It took me so long, like a month, because whenever I tried it never felt like it came out well. But I am so proud of how it finally came out, and I hope whoever reads enjoys it too!
