His newest hoobae had really outdone himself. He had been able to keep the civilians safe and had even rescued Jaekwan and another agent while at it. At least, according to the report Jaekwan had submitted. Choi was impressed, but also confused.
Wasn't this hoobae of his a spy from Daydream?
It was really a surprise when he came out of Looky Mart with everyone alive. Choi had thought that all Daydream scum didn't care whether other people lived, prioritising only their own.
It was even more of a surprise when he found out that his hoobae had also lost an arm to exchange for the currency needed to leave the supermarket.
Choi really didn't understand.
If this was all a ploy to gain their trust, then didn't he go too far?
He didn't need to lose an arm to do so. Weren't those regeneration potions from Daydream expensive? He had always thought that Daydream employees valued their points too much to want to be put in a place where they were needed.
And to top it all off, his newest hoobae was also named Kim Soleum.
It wasn't a common name, and it was unlikely that he would ever encounter someone else with the same name too. So he had been surprised when Mr Not Baek Saheon had told him that his name was also Kim Soleum.
He wonders what his hoobae's relation is to the one whose chat remained dormant on his phone.
Sighing, he tears his gaze away from Kim Soleum's sleeping face. He should actually check on the other Kim Soleum instead of just thinking about him.
It has been 5 days since Kim Soleum last texted him.
He was getting worried.
What if he had gotten caught up in a Disaster? He hoped not. But at the same time, he felt like Kim Soleum would be able to easily escape it with the vast knowledge he had about them — some of them he was sure the Bureau had wiped from the internet, and others he knew were under Daydream's control. He had no idea where he managed to find a wiki of Disasters — and if he hadn't, despite his advantage, Choi wonders which disastrous Disaster he managed to enter.
He hopes that Kim Soleum had only lost his phone and would text him soon.
He turns his phone on, entering the messaging app, and tapped on his and Kim Soleum's chat, about to type another message but—
It was gone.
The 6 months' worth of conversations were gone.
In its place was the conversation he had with the Kim Soleum in the bed before him, messages with the Daydream employee Roe Deer instead of the ones with the innocent ghost-story enthusiast civilian Kim Soleum.
