"What do you want to do after work tonight?" Hutch asked.
"Sorry Blintz, I've got a date."
"Oh? With?"
"A lovely lady we both know, but who prefers me to you," Starsky teased.
"There's no such person!" Hutch retorted.
"She exists. After all, I'm the one with the date."
"Hmm."
Hutch finished typing his report and signed it. Starsky did the same then put on his jacket.
"Let's get outta here," Starsky said. "It's been a long week."
The two of them headed out. Starsky drove to Hutch's place and parked.
"Thanks Gordo. See you Sunday?"
"Yep."
Hutch got out. He was surprised to see Starsky get out of the car as well.
"Thought you had a date?"
"I do."
Hutch watched as Starsky crossed the street and went to knock on Mrs Wilson's door. The lady answered, looking very excited and happy. Hutch smiled to himself. He waved to Mrs Wilson as Starsky escorted her across the street.
"There's a new Godzilla movie out," Starsky said, "and I realised I promised to take Mrs W to the movies a long time ago. I thought I'd better make good on my promise."
"Would you like to come with us, Ken?" Mrs Wilson asked.
"No thanks, not my sort of film, but I hope you enjoy it."
"We will," Starsky and Mrs Wilson said together. Mrs Wilson chuckled and Starsky grinned.
Hutch shook his head in fond amusement as he went up the stairs to his apartment. He looked forward to teasing Starsky about his 'date' on Sunday and seeing Mrs Wilson's happiness when he popped in for coffee tomorrow.
