Work Text:

Taeui trembles as he tries to hide deeper in their pantry, reaching into a bag of gummy worms as he stuffs his mouth to calm his nerves.

He can hear the soft footsteps of both his children running, calling out for him. He hears the gentle gait of his lover following behind them, also asking for him.

Hiding in the pantry has been his only reprieve these past few days. He hasn't even had the chance to use the bathroom by himself, let alone enjoy a cold beer in the backyard.

His breath catches in his throat when he hears Ilay's footsteps pausing in front of the pantry door. Quickly he covers his mouth to muffle his breathing. It feels like an eternity until he hears his mate clicking his tongue before walking away.

Taeui immediately relaxes, leaning back against the wall. Hopefully no one catches in on his hiding spot. Barely any of them check the pantry as Rita always shoos them off. Sometimes she gives him a stern look, before turning the other way when he crawls into the room.

He assumes that it's her form of solidarity.

The brunet continues to eat quietly. If he can only get an hour by himself, just a single hour to collect his thoughts and hide away from Ilay's wandering hands…

His eyes widen when he sees the doorknob jiggling, immediately reaching forward to grab at it and hold it closed.

The movement stops, Taeui relaxing once again as he leans back.

“Thank god.” He whispers to himself as he reaches for another gummy worm.

And then the fucking door flies open, the very demon he was hiding from standing right in front of him.

He yelps, dropping the bag of candy onto the floor while he looks around for an escape route.

“There you are.” Ilay says calmly, but Taeui trembles when he sees his face. That man is anything but calm, with his eyes narrowed dangerously and his smile showing the canines of his teeth.

“B-back away!” Taeui hisses, reaching for anything and everything. Throwing bags of chips at Ilay's head, cookies at his chest.

Ilay's smile only widens as he grabs Taeui's hand and yanks him out the door.

He sits there in the middle of their bed, Hana curled against his lower body with her face against his belly and Ilay lying next to him, with Yohan on his chest.

He weeps internally. From what he saw on his phone, his break was less than ten minutes.

He runs his fingers through Hana's silver locks, his daughter nuzzling into his belly.

“Appa,” She says softly, peering up at him. He glances down, poking the tip of her nose.

“I think the baby is going to be a boy.”

Taeui stiffens, his eyes widening as he stares at her. She smiles cheerfully, her round cheeks tainted with a hue of soft pink.

“Excuse me?”

Hana rests her chin on his stomach, staring at him pensively. When she looks at him like that, she honestly reminds him so much of Ilay. Silky silver locks, dark grey eyes, and soft porcelain skin. The only difference is their personalities– she's exactly like Taeui.

“The baby in your tummy is a boy.” She says again, as if it was the most obvious fact in the world.

Taeui stares at her, shaking his head.

“Hana, there's no baby–”

“The baby is there. I can smell them.” Yohan says softly, peeking over at Taeui shyly. His son is the soft spoken one of the two, extremely shy and withdrawn.

His brown eyes shift from Taeui to Ilay, before burying his face against Ilay's neck.

“Daddy, tell appa he smells like milk.” Yohan says quietly.

Taeui shakes his head, scoffing. There's no way. There's no way in hell. These kids just have a wild imagination thanks to their sperm donor.

The brunet jolts when he hears his mate laughing, glancing over at the other who is stroking their son's hair.

“They say kids know everything.” Ilay says, his tone dripping with smugness.

Taeui tries to sit up, but Hana whines and clings to him. He slumps back in defeat, staring up at the ceiling.

“You guys are driving me crazy…” He mutters as he rubs his face.

It's week later when he's combing Hana's hair. She hums quietly, kicking her legs back and forth.

Yohan is across from her, feeding Ilay apple slices.

“What color ribbon do you want?”

“Noona wants red.” Yohan says as if stating a fact.

Taeui is about to protest when his daughter nods sagely.

“It's twin telepathy, appa. You wouldn't understand.” Hana says, reaching over to hold Yohan's hand.

He can feel himself blushing, reaching for the ribbon as he scoffs.

“Uncle Jaeui is my twin.” He says, combing his fingers through her hair as he begins to braid carefully.

“Daddy said you and Uncle Jaeui don't have twin telepathy. He said he asked you and you said it wasn't real.”

Taeui stares at Ilay who merely grins at him.

Hana looks up at Taeui, blinking.

“But Yohan and I have twin telepathy. Maybe we'll have telepathy with the baby too.”

Taeui sighs, shaking his head.

“Hana, there's no baby–”

He pauses, an unsettling feeling growing in the pit of his stomach. He ignores it, finishing the braid off with the ribbon tied delicately at the end before he covers his mouth.

The three of them look at him as he sets Hana down gently next to Yohan before getting up.

“Tay–” He hears Ilay begin, but Taeui doesn't stay to hear the rest of his sentence when he runs to the bathroom.

He turns to his side, grumbling when Ilay pulls him against his chest, kissing his shoulder.

“If you don't want to–”

“Of course I want to. How could I not?”

Taeui huffs when Ilay nuzzles him, resting his palm against his stomach.

He relaxes slightly when he feels his mate rubbing gently, closing his eyes.

“I know you did this on purpose, Ilay Riegrow. You waited until the twins were old enough to go to school, and then you swooped in and knocked me up!”

Taeui scoffs, resting his hands against his belly. He feels the deep vibrations of laughter coming from his mate.

“Ah. You caught me, Tay. That was my plan to tie you down. Not the fact that you have my claim mark on your neck, or that you're only satisfied with my dick inside–”

Taeui turns around, covering Ilay's mouth as he stares at him completely mortified.

“Shut up!” The brunet hisses. “The kids can hear you!” Taeui nearly shrieks.

Ilay merely smiles, toying with Taeui's hair.

“You know. Three is such an odd number. Maybe if we get started now, the little bean might end up with a twin.”

Taeui shakes his head, smacking Ilay's chest with his fists.

“That's not even how it works, you bastard! H-hey! Get your hands off of me!” He wails as Ilay's hands knead his ass.

Taeui just stares in horror when Ilay leans down, his eyes dark and twinkling with mischief.

“I always did like the number six. What do you think?”

Taeui thrashes in Ilay's grasp, the alpha laughing as he presses against him.

“No! Noo! Absolutely not!” Taeui shrieks, but the noise is swallowed when Ilay leans down and kisses him.
