Work Text:

It was November 25, 2020. He was sad as he read the Daily Planet. He used to work there. That was before he revealed himself as Clark Kent. It has gotten him fried from the Daily Planet. It also put him in the crosshair of Donald Trump, who saw him as an invading alien. Then, Covid-19 infected the world. It cause the former president's desire to remove Superman from America on the back burner. Then, Batman, in his alter-ego of Bruce Wayne, walked to the table where he was sitting. He sat down on the seat across to Superman. He has his usual cup of coffee with him. He's already paid for his usual cup of coffee.

"Reading about Joe Biden again? I can't believe that he got the most votes, this year," said Bruce.

"If you want to know, I'm reading about AT&T trying to put DC comics out of business," answered Superman. Before he revealed himself as Clark Kent, he used to wear his civilian clothes in the coffee shop.

"I heard that Marvel Comics is having the same trouble with Disney. They are planning to lower the numbers of comics being made. It's the same with DC Comics and AT&T," said Bruce.

I heard that Warners Brothers is putting Wonder Woman's latest movie into HBO Max," said Superman.

"Many of the movie companies are losing faith in the movie screens. The first lockdown has hurt a lot of businesses. A possible second lockdown might hurt more business," said Bruce.

"I can't believe that Joe Biden will do that. The first lockdown has hurt a lot of people," said Superman.

"This place has delivery and pick up during the first lockdown. It lost a lot of money during that time. A second lockdown will only made it worse," said Bruce.

"This crisis has made me feel powerless. I don't know what to do. I want America back," said Superman.

"So do a lot of a lot of people. Why do you think that 37 millions of people voted for Trump? He promised to get America working again," reminded Bruce.

"He couldn't keep that promise. He lost the election to a man who couldn't do the job anymore. Many people believe that the democrats and their allies has cheated for the new president," said Superman.

"We can't keep worrying about the future. We have a job to do," said Bruce. He finished his coffee, and left the table. He need to become Batman again to fight crime. Superman got up afterward, left the Daily Planet on the table, and left the coffee shop to do his job as Superman. The end, for now.
