Two stood up from their bed, their mind racing, were they really about to do this?
They made their bed, their hands shook as they put the last of the rubbish from their floor into the bin. At least I could clean it myself, instead of leaving it for four and X to clean up.
Twos hands shook as they grasped the doorknob, turning it gently before opening it.
They turned around to look at their room one last time. They looked at the bed they had lay in for so many months, it was hard to believe it was the same room.
They let out a long sigh. “Two!?” X’s voice broke the silence. Two turned quickly to see them, four standing by their side with a look of shock plastered across their face.
“Hi–” X pulled two into a hug, “Oh you finally got up! I'm so proud of you,Two." Four awkwardly lingered beside X before uncomfortably putting a hand on Two’s shoulder “uh…good job.”
Two felt their eyes fill with tears that they blinked back immediately. “Thanks…guys.”
X let go of Two “Do you need anything?”
Two hesitated. No, I won’t need anything ever again after this.
“I- no…I just need some time to..clear my head” X tilts their head confused “Well if you do let me know” they said before skipping down the hall leaving two and four staring at each other “This is sudden.” Two looked up “What?” Four narrowed their eyes hiding the concern in the back of their head “You looked ready to- I- its just…you seemed worse yesterday honestly”
Two were struggling to hold back tears. they don’t know don't let them know why i'm really up.
“I just–” "I'm happy for you, Two. Don't do anything stupid” Four followed X down the hall leaving Two alone with their thoughts and growing sadness.
Two ran their hand along their arms, the felt fresh and old cuts alike over the surface of their skin. Two took a deep breath before walking through the halls to the roof
Two sat at the edge, overlooking the grasslands where they used to host challenges before Gaty disappeared. Two looked up at the sky, remembering the equation playground
They had a friend there, Eight. Two left after they were given their powers, they tried to keep contact but it ended up being kind of one sided. It was hard to know that someone who used to be their favorite person would forget them like that but they did.
Two let a tear fall down their cheek. It was over, it was finally over.
Two stood over the edge of the building, their mind told them to step back, to go get lunch with four and X. They were so proud of Two. but two didn't listen.
This was their final act of selfishness, everyone deserves to be a little selfish, at least once.
Two stepped over the edge.
