[MeanBeanMachine]: You sure you haven’t played this game before?? You’ve got the reflexes for it for sure! I haven’t seen anyone get this good at Puyo Puyo this quickly!
[WrenchWitch]: Heh… That comes with experience from my old job, I had to think fast and adapt quickly and trust my gut. Cultivating my anxiety for reflexes is a pretty transferrable skill it seems!

[WrenchWitch]: Well I um. Had to? I don’t know how to explain it without getting into the job but uh… NDA?
[MeanBeanMachine]: NDAs just stop you from talking about what you did on the job goofus, not what the job actually is. Also, what job makes you cultivate anxiety??? That can’t be safe or ethical
[WrenchWitch]: Well it wasn’t, that’s part of why I quit. That and I couldn’t do any of the R&D I wanted to do.
[MeanBeanMachine]: Hey quick question, you don’t have to answer, but are you an ex-magical girl?

[MeanBeanMachine]: Because that’s the only occupation I can think of that matches with what you’ve described, and why you would keep dodging the question of what you do for work and why you don’t have context for a lot of internet slang.

[MeanBeanMachine]: Ok. So i have a bit more of a serious question, about magic and what it can do.

[MeanBeanMachine]: Is mind control magic a thing? Or like, remote monitoring magic?
[WrenchWitch]: Not that I’m aware of? I mean there’s some Antipathy tech in that vein but its… Not exactly usable. On humans at least.
[MeanBeanMachine]: Ok, there goes that theory, theory B: Do people usually go no-contact for 3-4 months when they first become an Earth Guardian?
[WrenchWitch]: No? Those of us that had families were still allowed to talk to them, and go to school and stuff.
[MeanBeanMachine]: Ok, fuck. So like. Back in April there was that big Kaiju attack in Denver, I have another online friend who was in that area and she stopped talking to me completely after that day. I thought she was dead for months, and then only a few days before you and I became friends she got back in contact with me!
[WrenchWitch]: Oh! That’s scary! What did she say happened??
[MeanBeanMachine]: That’s the weird part, she’s super cagey about the details, insisting that I shouldn’t look into it and cannot know, and that i’d be in danger if i do find out anything and that I shouldn’t tell her if I do.
[WrenchWitch]: Ok.. But how can I help?
[MeanBeanMachine]: When i asked her if she became an Earth Guardian, she denied it, but very pointedly did not deny that whatever happened to her was magical. She’s made reference to being in a dangerous situation she’s not sure if she’ll disappear into again, she has alluded to suddenly having an increased income, and so many other little things. She’s roommates with Castalia for fucks sake!! WHAT OTHER EXPLANATION IS THERE????

[MeanBeanMachine]: Oh my god??? Yes??? Do you know her??? IS SHE ANOTHER MAGICAL GIRL???
[WrenchWitch]: Yeah uh, we’re kind of in the same rogue group of ex earth guardians? She wasn’t ever an earth guardian though she’s uh

[WrenchWitch]: Crap that totally lines up too. Mel first brought her to the Castle only a few days after when that attack would’ve happened.
[MeanBeanMachine]: WHAT
[WrenchWitch]: But we didn’t know she was a person then! We just thought she was an Antipathy artifact in remarkable shape!!! She couldn’t talk or anything then!!
[MeanBeanMachine]: WHAT THE FUCK???!?! WHAT DO YOU MEAAAAAANN???
[WrenchWitch]: Ok um. Long story short Mel tried to recruit her for the Dark Rebellion (that’s us!) and after Luna agreed they tried to enter the Liminal Space which is like this weird layered extra reality space where monsters go to from the Dark World before they can reach Earth, and apparently Luna’s human body couldn’t handle the ambient magic levels so Mel had to put her body into what she thought was an Antipathy Magic Extractor Thingy which or else she would die BUT it turns out it was more like an Antipathy Soul Extractor Thingy??? Mel thought she was fine bc Luna’s original body got up and said she quit and left after and then a bit after the Antipathy box spat out a humanoid robot which Mel took home and then activated and we thought she was just a robot at first bc she listened to everything Mel said and could do all kinds of robot things but then she started showing emotions and stuff and I figured out there were blocks on her communications and then spent like two months bypassing them and THEN we found out she was Luna.
