Saved By The Pack

Summary:

Bakugou didn't want to join a pack in high school. He wanted to wait until after he graduated and became a hero since no one knew where everyone in their class would end up. However a broken heart forces him to become a member of a pack or die.

Chapter Text

It's not unheard of for one to find their pack in high school, but it is not advised. The friends you make in high school are likely to leave as soon as you graduate, or will gradually drift away as life takes them down a different path. That is why they say not to form or join a pack until after you have chosen your path.

Bakugou had always planned to follow what they said. He didn't want to make any decisions that could make being a hero harder than it already would be for him as an omega. Unfortunately he found himself in a pack in the worst possible way. And only in his second year too.

For omegas to be heroes they must train to go against some of their most basic instincts. Bakugou was constantly working towards his goal, and more times than he could count he found himself close to crashing. When that would happen he would seek out the only alpha he could trust to see him like that, Midoriya.

A crash is one of the worst things that can happen to an omega. It's when an omega is so uncomfortable, or scared, they they are forced into a state where they have no control over their own actions. Each omega is different in how they act when they crash, and Bakugou did not want to know how he would behave. So he always makes sure to go to Midoriya before he thinks he might and let's him calm him down.

However, he hasn't been able to go to Midoriya for a while. The alpha has an omega that has taken a fancy to him, and she is always around him. Either that, or she drags him somewhere else. He has been getting by with just using his nest, but now it has lost all of Midoriya's scent. It has also lost it's shape. The only sensory comfort he is getting is the softness of his blanket.

The state of his nest has him stressed. Midoriya showing no interest in him was hurting. Written classes were only getting harder, and the training was more intense. Everything was getting to be too much. He needed Midoriya.

After class, the day of a surprise quiz, Bakugou approaches the green haired alpha. Midoriya sees him and excitedly starts talking before he could say anything.

"Kaachan! Guess what! I've started actually courting Uraraka. We're going on a date after we change. Isn't that exciting?"

"Courting." Bakugou repeats. His chest aches with the word.

Courting is an alpha's way of showing an omega that he is interested in becoming their mate. Becoming one's mate is a huge decision. One that requires a lot of thought, and Bakugou knew that Midoriya wouldn't make this decision without actually putting a lot of consideration into it.

"Yeah. She is the perfect omega for me. I can't see myself with another. So, I'm going to take her on a date today, and present her with a gift. Check it out." Midoriya pulls out a box from his pocket. He opens it up to show Bakugou the necklace inside. A necklace with a jewel pendant. "Isn't pretty? Do you think she'll like it?"

"Yeah. She'll probably love it." Bakugou manages to say, biting back the urge to whimper and cry.

"You really think so? That's great! Thanks. Anyways, gotta run so I can get ready. Bye Kaachan."

Midoriya runs upstairs to get ready for his date. Bakugou's chest tightened again as he watched the alpha leave him. He felt the tears prick at the corners of his eyes, but he quickly wiped them away.

He looked around the room, his mind growing fuzzy as he did. This was dangerous. He was about to crash. He needed to get to his nest.

He stumbles through the room, making it to the elevator. The buttons warp as his eyes struggle to focus. He hits what he is sure is the one to his floor to start the ride up. His back hit the cold wall behind him which helped to clear his mind enough to hold on a little longer.

The elevator doors opened to allow him access to the floor. He immediately pressed his hand against the wall outside to support his weight so he could walk. The whole time he shuffled down the hall he cursed the bright lights.

One more door. He just had to get past one more door and he'd reach his room. But it was too much. His legs and mind gave out and down he went. His knuckles ended up hitting the door to Kirishima's room as he fell.

Inside Kirishima's Room

A singular knock, followed by a loud thump startled the small pack residing in Kirishima's room. The game they were all playing is immediately paused so they can all look at the closed door without anyone getting killed.

"What was that?" Mina asked, as if any of them would have more information about the mysterious noise.

"I don't know. Kirishima, go check." Sero said, shoving the red haired alpha.

"Why do I have to go? You go if you're so curious."

"Will you two not fight? I'll go. Don't any of you unpause the game." Kaminari growled out.

He stands up, placing the controller in his seat as he does. He sent his pack mates one more look before approaching the door. With a deep breath he mustered up the courage to open it and look outside. A whimper drew his attention downward.

    "Bakugou!?"

That exclamation shocked the pack members who were still in the room. They jumped up out of their seats, and Mina was quick to get to the door. Sure enough it was Bakugou. He was on the ground, curled up in the fetal position with tears streaming down his face. The scent emitting from him was strong enough to make even her want to cower away. How an alpha like Kaminari was withstanding it she didn't know.

"Shit! It's an omegan crash. Kirishima, get the snacks off of the bed. He needs somewhere comfortable to lay down." Kaminari orders as if this was his own room. Kirishima wasn't about to fight him about making orders in his territory though. Not when Bakugou was in a fragile state.

Kaminari knelt down beside Bakugou and whispered what he was going to do so he wouldn't be startled. He wrapped his arms around him, pulling the omega to his chest so he can get his arms underneath. With one swift movement he had him off of the floor. Bakugou whimpered and buried his face into the side of Kaminari's neck.

"It's ok. I've got you." Kaminari said.

He entered the room again, making his way to the bed. Mina made sure to lock the door as soon as they were inside so no one can enter without permission while Bakugou is in this state. Kirishima had the bed ready, and Sero had grabbed an extra blanket from the top of Kirishima's closet.

Kaminari sits on the bed, and repositions Bakugou so he could sit comfortably in his lap. Bakugou leaves his head buried in the alpha's neck. It is positioned perfectly so he can inhale the sent of the alpha directly from the gland.

"I've never seen an omegan crash before." Sero said as he covered Bakugou with the fluffy blanket. "How did you know that's what his is?"

"Other than the fact that I know he wouldn't be caught dead like that in an open space if he could help it? I saw one once before. It was the middle of class in junior high. A girl crashed during a test that was worth half our final grade. Their eyes gloss over completely, and their distressed scent is different." Kaminari explained.

"From what I understand, omegas will crash if they are too stressed, uncomfortable, or have been hurt badly emotionally. Usually they'll seek out someone they trust for comfort if they think they're going to crash, so why was he heading to his room? And what caused this?" Kirishima asked what they all were thinking.

"I don't know. All I know is that we need to do what we can to make sure he feels enough comfort to pull him out of this. I hope you don't mind your room being used for this, Kiri. It isn't exactly safe to move him more than we already have." Kaminari said.

"I don't mind. Let's do our best to make him feel better." Kirishima said. Everyone nodded even though none of them even knew where to begin.
