"What do you have to say about the rumor that you and Kuroba Kaito, the magician, were seen together leaving a love hotel?"
'Is there any other Kuroba Kaito known for other things?' was the first thing that popped into Shinichi's mind, then oh fuck, and then, finally, that there was no way he was going to confirm or deny anything. As far as he knew, there was no photographic evidence that could in any way definitively point to it being Kudou Shinichi and Kuroba Kaito, so he wasn't going to confess to anything. It wasn't anyone's business but their own. The rumor was true, though.
He said, in an audacity much more befitting of some of his relatives than Shinichi himself, "Oh no, no. No. That was obviously Kuroba Toichi and it was honestly pretty fun. I loved it. Maybe he'll let me play with the knives next time." He smiled at the newscaster politely, but inside he was barely keeping it together.
The woman looked at him, mouth agape.
