Kanade awoke to the sunlight peaking through her curtains hitting her eyes. She stretched her arms out across her bed. Then it suddenly hit her. It was Kanade's orientation day for college. She would be moving into her dorm and touring the school. Kanade had slept all night for the first time in a while just for today. She was going to college to study music. Kanade rolled out of bed sleepily and stumbled to the kitchen. Her Dad was in there, making pancakes. Kanade smiled.
"Morning Dad."
"Good morning Kanade," her dad responded.
Kanade sat down at the table. The air smelled of sweetness. Minutes later, a stack of 3 pancakes were set in front of Kanade.
"Thanks," Kanade says.
"Of course. Are you ready to go to college?" her Dad asks.
Kanade almost nodded out of instinct but shook her head instead. She wasn't sure she would be ready to face all of the large crowds and stress of being in a real school again. She almost attended online school but she couldn't find one with a good music program.
"Heh. It'll be hard at first but I'm sure you'll be okay."
Ding.
A notification from Nightcord came in. Kanade picks up her phone and check her messages.
Enanan: Hey Kanade. It's your college orientation day right?
Kanade replied.
You: yeah.
Amia: good luck girl!!
Enanan: Yeah good luck.
Yuki: Enjoy yourself
You: Thanks everyone
An hour later, Kanade is in the car on the way to her new college. Boxes piled up in the back rubbing against eachother. The radio was softly playing a calming tune. Kanade felt her eyes slowly closing. She drifted off into slumber.
