Work Text:
Special agent Peter Strahm's back was pressed against the cold wall of a stairwell. With the ominous figure of detective Mark Hoffman almost looming over him, despite Hoffman not being any taller. But Strahm didn't look scared, eyes burning with determination.
"I know who you are, you fucking Jigsaw wannabe. You killed Baxter as revenge for your sister. I know it. It all makes too much sense. I can prove it!" he snarled.
"Oh yeah?" Hoffman rolled his eyes dramatically. "God, you're obsessed with me. Get a life."
"So what are you gonna do with me now, huh? Put me into one of Kramer's traps again? Or will you skip all that bullshit and kill me with your own hands?"
Hoffman pretended to think for a moment, index finger tapping on his chin. "Well, as much as I want to strangle you right now, that's not in Jigsaw's style, is it?" He glanced back at Strahm, eyebrows raised and voice mocking.
"Shut up. I bet you don't even subscribe to Kramer's moral code, or whatever the hell he called it. I bet you just enjoy killing! You lying, cheating, two-faced-" He moved closer, hand pointing at Hoffman as to accentuate every insult.
"And I bet you fall asleep every night imagining yourself beating me up. Or me beating you up?" Hoffman took a step closer, voice low and menacing. "You have a problem, Peter. You need to see someone about it."
"What I need is for you to rot behind bars for the rest of your miserable life." Strahm's voice almost a hiss, eyes fixed on Hoffman.
"And could you live without the thrill of chasing me? Do you want to be a hero that bad?"
"Fuck you."
Instead of replying, Hoffman moved even closer, with his chin now hovering over Peter's shoulder, face against his ear. Strahm flinched ever so slightly, but held his ground. If he was intimidated, he didn't show it. Then, Hoffman whispered.
"I got your throat pierced once. Want me to do it again?" He bared his teeth predatorily, and Strahm could hear a sick smile in his voice. With a forceful, swift motion, Peter pushed Hoffman off himself. Hoffman stumbled back, his thunderous laughter echoing through the stairwell.
